Y'all if you are watching this on Kissasian have some patience. I am so thankful someone subbed this for…
furritsubs @ livejournal just released their own version of English subtitles. i haven't checked it yet because i just watched the Kissasian version last night but furritsubs makes really good subs. some of their works are subs for Chihayafuru, One Week Friends and Kuzu no Honkai :)
Lmao I feel like I'm going to get attacked but I agree with Pinocchio, City Hunter and Love Me If You Dare. The romance was the weakest link in those dramas and I personally found it to be the factor that made them less enjoyable.
I'm kind of neutral with Love O2O but I get where you're coming from. I didn't dislike the romance like those mentioned above but I never really connected with the couple because their relationship certainly felt like a formality. I love Yang Yang; I already saw him in variety shows prior to Love O2O, so I was instantly disappointed with how wooden he is. I'm not even going to dwell on Zheng Shuang's Bei Wei Wei because I'm still mad at the kisses lmao
I watched both the Korean and Thai Full House but didn't finish them. The leads all had sizzling chemistry but even the "romance" couldn't save it from all the dragging and first love angst. I didn't watch Playful Kiss completely because it looked like a train wreck from the get go. Though based from a few episodes I saw when it aired on my local channel, I'm not wrong.
The K2, Man to Man, Falling for Innocence... I definitely don't see myself recommending those to beginners.…
i've never been a fan of anime... but i am an asian who has been watching cheesy local dramas all her life so i guess i was prepared for the cheesiness lmao
i personally think that cheesiness and the cringe factor are parts of a K-drama's charm ^^
The K2, Man to Man, Falling for Innocence... I definitely don't see myself recommending those to beginners. If the person is really interested or curious with K-dramas, I'd start with the classics: Boys Over Flowers, Coffee Prince, You're Beautiful, or anything prior to 2009. I'd personally start with romantic comedies because they (along with some makjangs) were the pioneers of the Hallyu wave and what defined Korean dramas. Once they get use to K-dramas, exploring different genres and newer dramas would be good. It was honestly satisfying for me to watch newer dramas because you get to see how much they change through the years.
However, if I know that the person values visual (beginners usually value that... let's be honest guys), I'd suggest recent mainstream dramas such as Legend of the Blue Sea, Descendants of the Sun, Weightlifting Fairy, etc.
I Remember You will forever be my favorite work of his
Lawyer Jung is such a complex character and is someone you shouldn't root for but i actually sympathized for him and loved him. his expressions were very subtle and could change in just the blink of an eye.
episode 10 was the start of its downfall. the last four episodes were full of flashbacks and the characters were all brooding. there literally was zero progression and things became pretty repetitive at one point. the last episode was also anticlimactic.
My Secret Romance was fun at the start but meh, skip it.
I'm kind of disappointed with Cheese in the Trap's rating here.
I was one of those who waited weekly for new episodes and eventually became disappointed with the drama. It fizzled out in the second half but I still think that it was a quality drama overall. The first half also managed to capture the vibe of the webtoon so if you're a fan, you should still check it out!
Okay so if you were really disappointed by the second half, especially at the END OF EPISODE 15, the last episode would make up for it. I'm only at the 10 minute mark of the finale right now but it's really intense and not stupid at all, lol.
EDIT: I JUST FINISHED TUNNEL AND I AM SO SATISFIED WAHHHHH I CRIED A LOT AND EVERYTHING WAS JUST SO HEARTWARMING TOWARDS THE END. It may not have shown an epilogue of the future but this is one of the few endings that I'm confident with whatever course it may take.
I'm so happy that Choi Jinhyuk's comeback after his abrupt military discharge is successful. It was such a fun ride despite some frustrating stupidities (ahem) lol
hope you'll enjoy it! both leads were fantastic in this wild drama lol

Nice article by the way! I loved it lol
