Dropped it at episode 12. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. However, knowing that I still had 36 more episodes to go was the final straw in dropping this drama, lol.
I don't know if it was the changes made due to the restrictions in China, the acting, or the dubbing, but I didn't get the emotional payoff that I experienced in the original Meteor Garden. This version felt lacking and mediocre at its best.
Sacrificial lamb? If she didn’t do it, she wouldn’t been found guilty! Her sentence is actually pretty light,…
She got off lightly, there's no denying about that. I just used the term sacrificial lamb because tax evasion among celebrities has been going on forever, and it was through FBB, a prominent figure in the C-ent industry, that they finally started to crack it down.
I truly think she's the sacrificial lamb of breaking down the tax evasions in the entertainment industry. So many high profile Chinese celebrities have been investigated after this scandal.
I'm glad that Li Chen has also broken his silence. I felt sad when rumors of them cancelling their engagement broke out because I love them together.
Hopefully, Fan Bing Bing, Fan Cheng Cheng (her brother who was in Idol Producer) and Li Chen (her fiance) will get through this.
ahhhh I love your article! JUMP is my favorite JE group (thus my familiarity with the members) so I could totally see their personalities with the characters. Inoo as Nakao is so on-point!
Thank god I've watched most examples you used because I could understand how right your descriptions were! I literally couldn't count how many times I laughed while reading your article! This was such a well-written and an entertaining one, and definitely one of the best among the recent published works here in the community ♡
ps i'm still laughing over Mr. HOW THE F**K DID HE GET THE GIRL? at #5 lmao the accuracy
this article is very timely for me because i re-watched Hana Yori Dango last weekend after watching Meteor Garden 2018 and Matsumoto Jun remains to be my favorite Domyouji up to this date. He just brought his character to life!
ahhhh another well written stalker's guide from you, catstreet! thank you for giving these amazing Japanese actors the spotlight they deserve ♡
my first exposure to Kamiki is his psychotic Amaya Takeru in As the Gods Will and that role was enough to know that he's one of the greater actors of his generation!
Does anyone know how I can open it up on Mac or iPhone? https://furritsubs.livejournal.com/16352.html
it's a soft sub, meaning the video and subtitles are two separate files. you have to download the movie, then add the subtitle (you can just drag the sub into the video). i recommend using VLC media player! i'm also using mac so it's not a problem~
He's such a great actor :) I can't believe he's still so young and yet so mature!aww, he was amazing in Kyou no…
oops should've reworded the actors lol, the other person i was impressed with was the female lead, Iitoyo Marie! i found her awkward in some parts but i really loved her aura. overall, she and Taishi still did great and the fact that they are both 98'ers made me more impressed~
thanks for your article by the way! i wasn't sure with Yakou Kanransha (yes, even when Sugisaki Hana is part of the cast) but i'll definitely watch it now! as much as i love crime thrillers, i tend to lose interest towards the middle of murder mysteries since it only revolves on one crime lol
Omg yes, I love Taishi so much. Like he literally is in my top 3 Japanese actors.
I first saw Taishi in Kyou no Kira-kun where I was totally sold to his Yuiji Kira. I watched the film with no expectations and I finished it with two new actors added to my lookout list. I laughed, I felt giddy, and I cried during the movie! Watching him in variety shows further solidified my love for the actor.
I'm so happy he's gaining more attention as Hase Tenma!
I started watching Miss Sherlock and Hana Nochi Hare at the same time and I can't believe I didn't realize that she was in both. She did well for portraying two contrasting characters!

also a huge yes to Yuya as Sano! my ichiban ♡
