Watching the sisters witness the Gaokao exam resumed is quite bittersweet. In the 11 years that the Gaokao exam was suspended during the Cultural Revolution, so many people missed the opportunity to go to college. And by the time it was resumed, these people could’ve been out of school for a decade and hope of passing the Gaokao exam was pretty nonexistent.
I saw Mei Ting and Li Chen in the cast list but I did not expect that they would be playing 21 year old characters... why didn't the director just keep Shen Yue and Gao Zhi Ting for a few more years? Having 50 year old actors play 20 year old characters is so out-of-place and makes it difficult for me to focus on the story.
When I read Love Beyond the Grave before the cast announcement, I already pictured Chen Feiyu and Dilireba as the leads. I felt like the descriptions match them exactly, I can’t believe they were both actually playing the characters! 🥹
The way I watched this 7 years ago but I still cry when I watched the clip of Un dying. I literally don't remember the plot besides Dong Soo, Un, and Cho Rip being friends that trained together. Yoo Seungho really played his character well
On ep 7 and tbh the doctors that are threatening to resign have 1 thing they are right about... ranking the doctors was a stupid idea... why create more competition when being a doctor is stressful enough?
Rewatching - Ep 5 makes me so sad when Sang Yan didn't go home for days because he thought Wen Yifan and Xiang Lang promised to go to Yihe University together. And even at Overtime when Xiang Lang said it and Wen Yifan was slightly shaking her head with desperate eyes like she wanted to say "that's not true"
Watching this at the same time as Northward got my head spinning because Gao Zhi Ting appears as young Tang Wei Min but also as Zhou Hai Kuo in Northward 🤣
The cast change threw me off though. I think I'm not alone when thinking they chose actors that look way too old for the role. They could've kept Shen Yue and changed up her makeup and styling instead of introducing another actress for just a few years later.
I would be pissed off if no awards are given for this drama... Like seriously!!....
Tbh China award shows for idol dramas are attendance based awards. They make up 10000 awards for whoever shows up... Last year BJT didn't have time to go to the iQIYI award show even tho his drama broke all records the drama didn't receive a single award at iQIYI's award show; meanwhile, that same drama received a bunch of awards at the prestigious award shows (like Dragon TV and CCTV's CMG). 🤣
