very impressed with the action scenes with multiple fights happen at the same time, looking more realistic than i could ever fathom. the storyline is pretty weak but the journey to the ending work well upon it.
not very solid message from this drama especially with that ending, geez. didn't understand the gangs part cause i skipped and half-slept through them. pretty slow-paced i think. love the conman old guy at the end as he played a vital part in progressing the story to its end.
i'd love to see more of young woo and her half-brother, the way they both love kimbap is so cute!
cunning attorney minwoo's change in character as well as the hinted romance with sunshine sooyeon is so unsettling and sick yall.
park eunbin's portrayal of woo young woo is so adorable, dreamy but not over-done, just perfect in her own ways. her character experiences and grows nicely according to the cases surrounding her.
which by the way, a few cases were a bit iffy. like that case where the husband ran away with his car but got into an accident like bam there you go a plot device to solve the case neatly and within the time constraint of one episode. and like, that data breach case that was solved because woo young woo points out the breach happens before the new law was enforced like that's so hilarious to me how that timeline difference should have been the first thing they should have looked at.
i don't mind junho being bland as he's too perfect to be true but given him being a support character i couldn't care less about his dimensionless personality. but i do mind kang tae-oh's acting; something about his mouth movement irks me no end while watching him like i get the feeling that he's controlling his face too much to look pretty on screen (bet i'm in the minority here seeing how no one says anything about his acting).
overall a wholesome drama, some arcs were too rushed, but the ending is good enough for me. not sure about season 2, because it already got repetitive in the later half of season 1.
i can feel the oldness of the plot. well this was made 10 years ago that can't be helped. the mystery to why his mom abandoned him since young was not debunked; FL's personality irks me a little bit. side story with the company is sometimes uninteresting; but i can see ML's gradual change and it's nice to see moreover most of it thanks to the FL. Shun's acting and visuals pulled me through the whole series + the new york special despite not liking the plot lol. if only it was more romance-heavy T-T by the way, FL and Winwin could pass as siblings lmao.

rewatched and the entertainment value is still as i remembered! kotoko is overly animated (which can get too cartoonish sometimes; but that's what makes her liveliness a trademark for this franchise). it's painful reminder sometime though, to see a 16-17 year-old work so hard like this and as a minor having to do countless kiss scenes (and even suggested bed scenes). lots of kisses, lots of wholesome moments, and i absolutely love that male nurse in female costume; he's a scene stealer! irie got a sharp tongue for his wife. though i do understand that he knows her well and says frank shits to her to get her back to reality and actually do something, it's just not it to openly rub it in your wife's face and embarrass her in front of an audience, whoever it could be (considering he's got good social skills acting proper and polite in front of his patients and colleagues). along the way, though, he learns to deal with his emotions better mostly thanks to events revolving kotoko. i could feel his love for kotoko grow or rather he gets more comfortable with his affections and it's so domestic how these two act. they be making me feel single af and that's my goal for watching romance in the first place so preach! regardless, still, a lot of questionable drama and their questionable/ premature wrap-ups (i can remember one instance irie kiss kotoko and blame himself after scolding her like um—). kinda wish she's less dependent on irie emotionally. now in the reply is for the most wholesome moments and the kisses timestamps for me so later on i can go back and re-watch these scenes <3
just finished ep 6 and boy! i enjoyed mudeok's interactions with yul and crown prince so much i shipped her with either of them (though ofc, i'm voluntarily breaking my hearts the more i fall for those two sml)! with uk, i enjoyed their bickering siblings vibe a lot more than anything more platonic between them in a few particular scenes (it felt a bit out of place and felt like they are there just for the sake of them falling in love with each other if that even makes any sense). it would be nice for main leads to end up not being each other's love at the end but still resolved their own issues together and find their love somewhere else, you know, for a change, meaning their love interests don't have to be the main leads. i wonder if any dramas have done so (if there are, please recommend!!)
