Song Weilong was simply brilliant in Love for You. I loved him in Shine on Me, but this role showed us such a raw, unguarded side of him. There was something so beautifully unpolished about the way he played Chen Yi—the restraint, the silences, the tiny shifts in his expressions that said more than words ever could. He made you feel the weight of Chen Yi’s pain without ever overplaying it, and somehow, even in the most emotionally devastating scenes, he still had you completely captivated.
And then there’s that face. How does he manage to evoke that first-love feeling in you, regardless of your actual age? He could be standing there, absolutely wrecked by life, delivering the most heartbreaking scene imaginable, while your heart is busy melting and you’re apparently 17 again, writing his name on your palm.
Song Weilong had no business making us feel like lovestruck teenagers while Chen Yi was busy suffering on screen. What a performance. What a heartthrob. What a beautiful, quietly devastating portrayal ♥️

Because Chen Yi no longer believes in himself. As a boy, he told Miao Jing there was no need to pray to the statue—they would have a safe, good life because *he* said so. But later, after failing to protect the police officer’s fiancée, he became convinced that the only way to give Miao Jing the better life she deserved was to remove himself from it.
That’s where I think the acting and direction deserve tremendous credit. The story establishes that they had extraordinary chemistry even as teenagers, yet as adults, Chen Yi deliberately suppresses every bit of it. Kudos to Song Weilong for portraying that restraint so impeccably.

Their relationship had already peaked before the series started. So they aren't establishing anything new. Chen Yi is the only obstacle in their love. Miao Jing is fighting for his worth & their relationship.

I respect your sentiment as these r ur feeling, and surely no one can dictate for how one should feel♥️ I just hope one day if you have some leisure time, you watch this show the second time and see the life from their perspectives. If you ask me, Their journey was so scarred. It's incredible that Chen Yi even developed that self less love and was ready to give away his entire happiness for seeing his beloved prosper in life. Miao Jing instead of following her mom's footsteps of being selfish & ungrateful, developed extreme appreciation for Chen Yi's love & sacrifices & even became so good at communicating her feelings. I think so many of us can't even express our feelings to the intended person.

Starvation was Chen Yi felt but dared not to express it. Remember way back when they were young adults, she was still in high school, MJ was already at the level where when CY came to pick her up but in the business lady's car, she got so annoyed. Then when in school some1 mentioned that if you look in the eyes of your lover just 3 seconds, the urge to kiss will emerge. At the street dinner, she wanted to experience that already. As for Chen Yi, the next morning every gesture of his showed complete love & devotion to her. Even picking her up, on his own, when she couldn't reach the dragon. Umm & he held her for a while. It wasn't a touch & back to ground kinda scene 🙈 As for Chen Yi, his clear words of the prayer were" My wish is simple. I hope she has a smooth & peaceful life. From this point on, May we always walk this road TOGETHER" ♥️♥️

Yes, the last episode definitely seems rushed. I really hope the variety episodes all get their translation. TBH at this point, I feel so greedy, if they gave me the proposal & the wedding, I would be asking to see their married life & raising the kids together. I don't see myself wanting to move away from them 🥹
