But the intrigue thickens. I harbour doubts about the general — the so‑called “friend” of ML — who stands in the shadows, . Perhaps he sees the throne far closer than anyone imagines, patiently awaiting the moment to reveal himself. The question remains: by what artifice, or door , will he seize it?

2.He acted impulsively under the sway of his feelings; he was truly worried, frozen before the door, unable to move… and at that very moment he spoke almost mechanically. There is also this father‑son opposition that must be resolved — he always tends to oppose, which is also psychological. Personally, I like the idea that he gave clear priority to the one who understood and supported him in that very moment above all else, ( rather than etiquette at the imperial court) amidst all the betrayals he had suffered in the chain of events.

Instead of simply allowing or forbidding it, in my opinion he should have recounted in detail all the acts committed by the prince, so that the young girl could draw her own conclusions — or not — and decide with full knowledge of the causes, rather than blindly following her illusions. To the very end, he let her drift lost in her illusions. That said, he is only a brother; he is not obliged to intervene. Each person is responsible for their own fate, especially when nothing malicious has been done. He could also have told the father — but then, what would we have? A series with only twenty episodes :)

This is the first time I have seen in a Chinese drama a prince who speaks the truth directly to the father-emperor without the slightest hesitation. He has never wavered—that is why he deserves to be emperor. One who does not falter, who moves forward, who faces everything with honor and dignity.
Sui Ge, the brave—I love you. He also shows here to the emperor (and to the prince) his own cowardice, which he himself could not overcome. We do not yet know the whole story, but I already suspect it.

The opening scene is beautifully acted — Chen Zheyuan is touching in his vulnerability, visible in his eyes, and in the sincerity of his words. That firework — it feels like a metaphor for their hearts igniting (and mine too, by the way) — such a beautifully filmed moment! 🌸 ... This whole thing — oh, I laughed so hard when I saw Suj Ge’s face at 11:45 (she brought five men to her house!) 😂 He’ll never have peace with her — and honestly, that’s exactly what makes her so fiery and irresistible. ... 13:22 — “I so rarely hear praise directed at me from your lips…” — and I’d reply, “You’re welcome, I love you, Suj Ge!” 😂 The director framed the shot as if he was talking directly to the viewers — I just wanted to answer out loud! By the way, I really like the actress too. ... 14:57 — The “Lydia Bennet – Pride and Prejudice” type of moment here — no comments needed, I’ve already shared my thoughts (mainly about her brother’s position on this matter…). The other prince also leaves with bitterness in his heart — in a way, he too feels “betrayed.” Here we see four kinds of love: righteous love, devoted and protective love, mad love, and powerless love — the kind that loses to one’s own ambitions. ... 41:00 — Wow, just wow! What a woman, what courage — I adore her! There was so much emotion in that scene! The director absolutely broke all records here! 🎬 And the whole crew behind the scenes — bravo 👏 — they gave me real emotions.
