okay eps 15-19 are a write-off I don't recommend🙄 but whoo! things pick back up in ep 20. i'm on ep 22 now and it's totally so fun and unpredictable! I truly don't know what's gonna happen in the last four eps
i just watched the poison scene and I really don't get all uproar over the fl. there are so many negative comments and reviews, and for what? it was smart of her to think of disabling his powers bc he's stronger than her, and he used that strength to strip her of her agency in the past, but she needs to be in control this time around. and she wasn't the one that mixed up the poison? so far she's been very fair, methodical and suspicious, as she should be. idk if its agenda or just lack of comprehension, but that ire over the poison should be directed towards the writing and the coroner, not her character
a 17/18yr genius self righteous no fault almost universally adored fl (mind you for all intents and purposes she grew up sheltered and has no real world experience). i too don't mind an OP mc but dis was too much, add the moral high ground and the preachiness and the bubbly ml who worshipped the ground she walked on, and i had to check out halfway through.
i'm glad to have stumbled upon your review, it is very solidly written, would like it twice if i could!
oh look, another 'fl is drugged and begs ml for sex' scenario 🙄. seems to be this director's specialty. he needs a painful knock on his bald head. I couldn't even enjoy the whole 2ml tied to a chair watching them get it on while drugged himself bc of that - and that was a fun scene
fl's brother really murdered the love of his life bc of his country? he was ready to stand there and watch her get publicly SA'd too. since he was gonna be exposed and die in the next ep anyway why couldn't he have just saved her. smh, republican dramas and their nonsensical propaganda.
lord help me with the ml's hair! what even is that huge strand just doing sticking out the back of his head??? but he's so sad, and hopelessly in love, and torn 😔😔😔 i'll give him a pass
🤠ok I like how she managed to wrap both men around her fingers in three short eps, her beauty did most of the work, but her self awareness and common sense helped too. what a satisfying love triangle! but now they've thrown her on the bed and she's shaking, what did she think was gonna happen?
this actress is too ✨babygirl✨ for femme fatale roles, its why she often looks so out of place in her dramas. anyway I'll keep watching, nothing terribly bad to report for now, and I like her qipaos, they are all gorgeous
hl repeatedly drugging that girl is incel behavior, surprised to see it so popular with this cs. idc if its canon or whatever not everything translates well across different forms of media. poor girl has never once been unreasonable too. 😪 don't think I can wait for something else to come out before dropping this one
The only thing that I don't like about this series is that ALL characters strong and weak are selfish, what's…
i'd like to think they were going for aloofness but just widely missed the mark. bc there is nothing appealing about that rampant cold selfishness/lack of regard for each other, might as well turn on the news..
bad guys cooking with high heat while the good guys haven't even gone to the market to buy their ingredients, one of my least favourite tropes. we're just over the halfway mark so its safe to reckon that this is not shaping up to be an entertaining drama imo
why should han li have to babysit bambi? why let her out of the valley in the first place when they know she can't take care of herself and cultivators are dropping dead like flies
i love it for her! cockroaches hate light for a reason get em girl! I don't even care what the context is, as long as it is an individual vs a corporation (or someone that gets to hide behind a corporation), i'm cheering on the individual
this yellow maple valley...if they ever got invaded they would all be dead before they know what's happening bc why is your turf as big as a city with absolutely zero oversight?? han li killed that rapist dude a few eps back and nilch, no one even noticed a disciple had gone missing. then these two mentors get into it and no master notices until its too late. like aren't these cultivators joining these sects partly for protection as well? its easy to root for the annoying bad dude atp, at least he's putting effort into his things
11 eps in and i'm yet to see a single cultivator that is likeable. they are all either cold or dry or bloodthirsty or just blank with no personality. fl has potential but she has so little screen time
Dang are many ppl just Julia Xiang haters or what? This is sad like she's just getting popular after LOTDT...…
I stuck to the divine tree for so long bc of her mu qingge, and this was long after she was gone. (I kept waiting for her to come back 😔) and she was also good in ripe town.
