you know I actually ship the cp (after ep 4) they are really cute and breathe life into the drama. but I think at least half of all the credit should go to the actors (not the writing 😒). they really came through. I can definitely see how this would be just unwatchable with less better actors

its not unsurprising that she called off the marriage. the moment someone mentioned 'servant' it was a wrap. with her temperament and the way she thinks and carries herself? she would never subject herself to anything less than equal! also it wasn't a good idea for him at that time too, especially after everything he just went through bc of his powerlessness. so yea I didn't mind their breakup

there's actually nothing tao hua has that meng zhen zhen doesn't. shen zai ye could have fallen for zhenzhen the same way he fell for taohua (yes even as his enemy's daughter). but she just kept making the wrong choices and expecting that to have no impact on his feelings for her. tao hua on the other hand used her own choices to force his feelings towards her..
