they had their full memories in 'heaven' before they went into the cycle, so they were able to accept their love for each other. when they were thrown back into the reincarnation cycle, they retained their memories and their love in each life or regained it at some point.
at the redo of their first life, resentment could not take root in him bc he was already filled with his love for her, and she becomes his empress (implied)
2nd life there was never a plague bc he never became the asura in the first life, she finds him and they pick up from where they left off
3rd life she becomes his master and they're in love. he never becomes the asura and she never has to become a celestial, and happily ever after!
I just watched the first ep and I didn't really like it. fl was unkind and money obsessed and I don't like mistaken identity/right groom wrong carriage tropes. but all that aside it just occurred to me that mini dramas have really ate up the gaps dramas like these left, they don't make as many of them as they used to
ke ying is such a lovely actress, I really wanna see her in a 1fl role in a full length drama. if ryan cheng can so can she, I think she's almost there anyway
adopting a bl into a straight romance has never once worked, and it will never work. why do they keep doing this? like from a financial perspective it just makes no sense. there are many many straight romance IPs, but no you want the bl fan base, but you took out the bl. clowns
The number of times ML kept silent like an impotent dick, I just canβt. Just general bad writing all round.
and come to find out in ep 19 there was no great reason why he couldn't tell her. such stupid writing, and it unintentionally makes the ml cruel too. zero stars
I actually advocate for her dumping the ml after the issue with her father is resolved. bc a man that will do that to you while looking you and your grief in the face? run baby
I mean she has her issues as well, mainly her character feels undercooked imo. like they want her to be one thing, but the story itself demands otherwise so they just keep throwing stuff together. but he's worse
The script writers are inconsistent with the way the female lead's behaviors are portrayed. She is an intelligent…
another example, she's supposed to be this wise person who has solely and successfully managed her large household for years but she's still very much juvenile and naive about basic general matters.
so is he gonna tell her about her father anytime soon or are we just moving past it? its been two months and all he's done is try to win her heart like her father didn't just "die" and he only ruined her favorite dress or something. i do not like this plot it's silly and set up for an underwhelming payoff
you know one thing that makes this ending even more sinister? lord zhen and lord yang, the only two men who carried a wealth of knowledge and experience about canal construction are dead!
oh this is that drama that was shot years ago when Darren was still popular off sleuth of ming dynasty. nice of them to finally release it. I missed huang ri ying though, I haven't seen her since killmeloveme
i'm CONVINCED the qiao clan would have fallen apart after the grandfather's death if not for the qiao aunty lady ding. they don't show her a lot, but I'm sure.
you know what, its not even the cousin declining to lend manman troops that stings the most. its the part where she basically went 'you threw your husband to the wolves, I would never do that to mine.' omg what? she deserved a slap for that sorry

the drama generally has some really good older supporting actors
