And usually these superpowerful guys in drama don't really look convincing to me, so the production looks cheap. But Wang He Di is amazing. His acting is so believable.

She is amazing. I love her threatening dance and smile and grace. You never know weather she is gonna kiss him or kill him. :)

He knows from beginning, but he joins the game she is playing. You can see it at their first encounter. He recalls where he know her from and her real identity, but he decides to play along in her game :)

This was my first asian drama ever, and it unveiled the potential of Asian entertainment for me in comparison to hollywood, that now looks bland in comparison to asian entertainment.

But still, even after a year of Asian classics, this drama...
Best ML, seriously who wrote this character? Modern Jane Austen I suppose. Every time I see 🪭🪭 emoji on social media, I like the comment because I know it's a Duke Su fandom :)

Also FL, soft force, perfection of elegance, but she is not a pushover. One of the most beautiful women ever.

Best villains ever. I just love them. Princess and ex hubby. They had more chemistry then then villains ever could.

It is not cheating. Actually all 3 main characters didn't intentionally harm the other. They had their brutal destiny to navigate. In my opinion they did their best to survive the enemies and court politics.
Empress only had two men, in different times of her life. She never cheated, in any way. She was accused many times. Her origins and history was constantly used against her.

I also liked Taltal vibe, he was the smartest man of the drama. Other were courageous, skilled and talented. But only Taltal knew how to choose his battles.
Also, the way he looks at Ki :) he would be her best choice. But she caught an eye of two most powerful figures. And her life was sucked into turbulence of court politics.

Wow, amazing drama.
The only love triangle I ever enjoyed. 3 super interesting characters, each tortured by life in their own way. Separated by politics, evil individuals, and yet again, it is not tiring to watch. They navigate it so good, while being a flawed human trying to survive what that era broth to people like them.

I think some viewers don't know how to rate a drama according to a category. But I like different plots, arcs, atmospheres and emotions of the drama, so it works for me. I like this one, I event consider it one of the best detective stories in historical setting. Top 3 for sure.

Others, welcome to one of the best historical detective stories. It is a great ride of finding clues, and decyphering and reading people, intentions. I love the whole Bei Ming's crew :) they are so cute :) Amazing character developments.

Just finished it. Loveeed it. Amazing, all main characters are just so much fun, smart, great friends. Chemistry between ML and FL is awesome. Action, humor, romance, investigation, all is there to have an amazing time. :)

Like how does an actor like this go under the radar to directors. Jung Sung II shows age is no limit.

I watched this drama 4 times. All characters are so well written, each times you focus on something new. So many details. Great convos among all the characters. Layered as it should be.

And yes, villains get to your heart too, although it is the most evil princess of c drama.

I think i described how most of us feel about WXY acting.

Definitely rating is not doing justice to this drama. It's worth watching. You will finish it, and not sleep on it.

Here what I like and dislike (taking in consideration comments here)

I like FL and Kim Ri An potential and chemistry. I think themselves even without main plot (bullied highschool kid that died and investigation around it) had mad potential to develop in any direction. They could have used those two better.

Also 2nd couple, He Ra and best friend of Kim Ri An, they had some potential to go back and forth with their chemistry.

Unfortunately, ML was also... actually I'm not sure weather he is a ML of this drama or just one of the main characters. He didn't take things into his hands in any moment. Things happened to him same as to the others. And I guess we expected from him somewhat more knowledge and control of the situation.

But still, I would say the rating is to harsh. It's a good drama, bingeable even.
