I'm very picky about this list, only dramas that stayed with me for long after I've watched made it to the list.
Also, I will check the Joy of Life since you recommended it as better ML then Duke su (Wang Xing Yue) :)

I added it on my watch list :) I'm curious about it since you said the ML is better then WXY :) So far I still haven't found better then Duke Su.

I love the scene where SYR and Duke Su brush shoulders when they pass next to each other in the prison. and SYR realises he is going to loose everything.
The amazing, dashing Duke Su coming for the rescue.
So satisfying :)

Let say pillow wrestling like in short drama is definitely not something to find in this drama.
But, in my opinion this romance is wow, their dialogues, and the way they play with one another through working together.

For example, he is so dangerous that not even noble families or thugs want to get in his way. And FL decides to use his power and reputation to investigate her case and get her revenge. He finds it amusing and plays along, untill... he starts falling in love. Then he suddenly doesn't wanna play this game of chess. Because the pawn has become to dear to him.

But to each its own.
Sometimes I also like pillow wrestling scenes and spoon feeding and passionate kisses :)

In my opinion it has a good pace.
In the first episode you have all for main characters intro. ML, FL, and villain FL and ML. And the main reason why and how all started.
Then it begins
Her motivation, her new cause, entagling who is behind her and her family misfortune. Duke Su is on the same path, and they are actually on the same quest. So by each situation you get a small satisfactory resolution and a clue for deeper, until the very end.
So there is no back and forth, but progress.
And they also gradually fall in love. So its cute to watch smart Duke Su fall in love, but also hurt FL healing and loving again.

Also romance is really good. Let say pillow wrestling like in short drama is definitely not something to find in this drama.
But, in my opinion this romance is wow, their dialogues, and the way they play with one another through working together.

I just stopped by to say again I still haven't found better ML then Duke Su :)

And now I watched quite some dramas from various recommendations from MDL friends :D

I don't know much about how it is in China, and the background, but just from several of his performances and interviews I can tell he is an exquisite genuine well mannered person, and true performance artist displaying emotions and pulling the viewers in the plot effortlessly.
That is art.

If he is not a superstar already he will be for sure.

It's because he behaves so mature, and can carry authoritative roles like Duke Su and Meng Xiao Dong. He was a perfect match in every sense to Wu Jin Yan. I also didn't even question his age, until I've read somewhere he is younger. It's almost unbelievable.

Interesting point. I was thinking something alongside that. I hate amnesia plots. Like really? it's like a recipe:
- 1 bad boy ML, but he gets mellow around episode 8, and there is nothing wrong with that, its just that it's the same character as the most MLs, and this is entertainment industry, we are trying to find some variety.
- 1 smart FL, but tries so hard to being smart that ends up in various death threatening situations. None smart person in the world would do that. My logic just can't with this one.
- 1 spy
- just when they fall in love, so the things don't get to good to early, amnesia incoming

I also was crazy about KMLM until amnesia, and her moving to marry hostage prince. Lol. That just killed the drama. They should have ended it before all the hostage prince plot, it would have been 8.7 drama. I love the actors though. ML and FL actors are the only reason you stick through that script.

I melt just at the thought of it. Drama is full of such sweet moments. ML is everything any girl could dream of. And she is so kind and inspiring.

I thought my favorite performance of her is Love Like The Galaxy, and then this came with really high up. Amazing actress, some of the best FL performances are by her.

Me too. Can't stop thinking about it. So many memorable moments.
