I agree. They fought for the love that was impossible. But worth it. :) And I love how actually cute they are, and sincere. There is no aloof FL, bickering, hard to get. Just normal girl, in love, trying to survive, and love her dashing, handsome, brave, smart, eunuch :)

I can't get over The Double. I need another season of Duke Su and Jiang Li. :)

I also watched Kill Me Love Me, drama with the same FL actress The Double. And she is some super skilled assassin in this one. And there was a scene where she fought 30 assassins, for the case to investigate the culprit, and she collaborated with ML who is a prince. And during that scene on tiktok someone commented: Duke Su would never allow that.
:D I think we all miss Duke Su :)
There is just no ML that can replace him.

Wow. Your comment is so good, as if it was a professional psychological profile of ML, FL, and emperor. I recognise everything you said in the drama and characters.

And I also agree, that lead characters although ML is fake eunuch, FL is emperor's woman, they both actually are finally free from being a tool in someone else's hand. And their love is not just about meeting one another, but having a first wish for themselves, as if it was first love.

I also like their physical love. Sometimes in order to play innocent and sweet character, FLs reject ML to the level, where these MLs don't look romantic at all but rather pushy, and disconnected from reality what girl wants.
While here, you can see FL discovering how it is to love, and she is so innocently in love that she just puts her literal life in his hands.

They feel like when kids are in love. No reservations. No calculations towards one another. No playing hard to get, proud.
Just two people grateful for every second together,

First half - enemies to lovers, these two have never been more then a tool to selfish people around them, they trust no one, not even to one another in the beginning.
Then cutest moments - episode 15-17 are so cute, you can really see two people in love like first love, although they are adults, because never before they had a chance to want something for themselves. So pure. Their love is Forbidden love. But they are actually so pure in their humble desire just to be normal people, who are not someones tool to their selfish ambitions and desires.

Then second half -now imagine those two obedient people, in their lonely life, finally, finally, seeing something worth living for, something worth dying for - love. And then one risk after another, so suspenseful,...

Drama is full of many quotable and rewatchable moments.

Also, why is Wang He Di so hot.
When maid from FL said: How can you like him, he's a eunuch?
And FL replied: I would like him if he was a criple!
That was so cute. :) Agree sister, 100%, good, smart, hot, dashing, capable, protective male is manhood enough! No one can take that away from him.

Unchained Love is sooo good. Episode 15-17, especially 16 is the sweetest. Both of them, culmination to that point is adorable. Also so many obstacles for this love... so tense to the very end.
Why why is only 7,9? I almost didn't watch it because of that. What a misguidance...

I binged it also, then binged with my friend, and another friend. Until everyone watched it with me. Now everyone is hooked haha.

Oh, take your time. and enjoy every second.
The worst part of this drama is that you'll be craving for it year after you watched it and still not find anything not even close.
It's the only drama ever I rated as 10.

So agree.. Duke Su is the best ML ever written and performed. Even if you put him in one drama with other MLs he would still be the one captivating attention.

Also, have in mind that I'm European, never've been to any part of Asia. So:
- I judge only from performance of the show. Interviews, their private life I don't know.
- the cultural difference vis-a-vis expectations from the performances. I grew up on Hollywood production, so overacting looks cheap to me (Like Esther Yu performances).

Dear @Marwen Ricky, thank you for your comment. I excluded the school project. Now, his average rating is 8,36 which is again the highest in C drama world.

I wrote in the criteria, alongside objective criteria (kisskh average rating) The actor must have role that makes you lose your sleep. And though Ling Buyi is amazing, he is no where near Duke Su. My account here I made after The Double, to check if there's more drama like that, and then I went down the rabbit hole, and watched over 30 drama.

But I do agree, that Ling Bu Yi, Ashile Sun have a high 3rd place. Which is amazing per my criteria. Because these are the only actors whose shows I watched without skipping. the rest, is hardly watchable. I usually watch 5 episodes before deciding to drop the show.

Also, @Pytheos and @Marwen Ricky, have you guys watched The Double? I would love to hear your opinion on it.

Everything WXY plays is a masterpiece. So looking forward to this.

I watched all versions of this show, The original one has best FL and Hua Ze Lei, this one has best ML. Thai one has best plot, makes the most sense, but maybe they went to soft and that alienated them from manga original. All in all this one is the best.
