With that 2.5 (dropped mid drama) review along with these comments I'm scared to watch. Lol
The 2.5 rating is really unfair, but the story has dragged and it was slated for too many episodes to begin with. Now there is a 2nd villain in the remaining 8 episodes.
The couples are great, but the pace is slow and there is a lot of filler content to fill those 24 hour length episodes.
There is a lot more to the story than just their age gap. They have a lot of barriers in there way, his background,…
Pot meet kettle. You are the one in your first post being overly sensitive and telling others that they are wrong and you pity them for watching this show. Why keep coming back to post if you already left and don't like the show?
I hate how so many people in this drama are too superficial and materialistic. I wish the story was just about…
That and the bipolar nature of the Eun Tae character. Why does he overreact to every little thing? Almost like the actor is overacting and trying too hard because the script isn't strong enough.
There aren't many likeable characters in this show yet. And so many of them are in the midst of unbelievable misunderstandings.
Why do the children not want their dad to move on and find happiness? He is lonely.
Overall this was very well done. Which is a big compliment considering how bad so many Taiwanese dramas are. The leads had good chemistry. And all of the lead characters were good. The male lead is a rookie and he definitely reached his peak in the role. After a while he wasn't able to show many emotions beyond what he had shown us to start the show. Which was a let down, but the female lead was great for her first lead role.
The plot was surprisingly good for a TDrama. And far less slap-stick and corniness than what we usually see in TDramas. It had its serious moments. I felt like it dragged towards the end though and the entire ending was a bit unbelievable. I felt like there should have been more action and emotion than what was shown. It was all cleaned up way too easily without any conflict.
Overall I like the show and the relationships. But I could see this coming a few episodes ago when I realize it was 24 episodes long. They have been dragging for a few weeks now and have run out of plot. I don't know why this was scheduled to be so long at 24 episodes in the first place. It would have done well to end in 16. They could have cut out some uninteresting filler content.
the subs will be out on Saturday, if I'm not mistaken.
Subs from Fastdrama aren't accurate at all for 5 and 6 as of writing this post. We have to wait a week because the subs from Netflix are delayed as such from the release of the raws.
I think because Netflix has the exclusive rights none of the other usual subbers will pick it up and sub the raws. A lot of times sites like Fastdrama, dramanice, or dramacool all get their subbed shows from legitimate websites like Viki, Dramafever, or Kocowa.
Fastdrama replaced there subs with Netflix subs go there
The good subs are a week behind the raw releases. Hence the current subs for 5 and 6 being from Google Translate. They even state it as such. Those aren't real subs. Need to wait for the weekend for subs for 5 and 6.
Overall it was really well done. Cute and funny throughout. Great chemistry between the few couples. The An Ning plot was done well enough. I'm glad they came back to it, because I thought it was really weak and just used as a filler trope for a few episodes until we were given closure.
My only gripe are the obsessive amount of flashbacks. Thankfully I had the ability to fast forward through them. But we usually get at least 1-2 every episode. This series could have been under 30 episodes easily.
Well the conflict occurred earlier than usual in most Cdramas. Good sign? Hopefully it doesn't last too long. The truth about Shi Yue is bound to come out soon.
18 episodes in and this is great so far. I'm still expecting the inevitable split over something stupid towards the last 1/4 of the show, but maybe I'll be surprised by a Cdrama for once with a good final 1/4 of the show.
The one thing that really bothers me is how often and repetitive the flashbacks are. I feel like some episodes are fillers or recaps with nothing but flashbacks we have already seen. Episode 16 and 17 felt like recaps with nothing but flashbacks in them. And they already recap each previous episode during the first 5min. Seems really excessive. The show could probably be around 32 episodes and still be great without the excessive flashback usage.
they keep showing his son but never mention him.. and ji an's friend said that he is outside of the country? I…
Son is 100% dead. It explains the fracture in the relationship between husband and wife. And she chose a different way to cope by doing so in the arms of another man. While he shut down and became unapproachable.
The writers and actor are doing a really good job of portraying Chang Jian Xiong. A character that is sorry, but not really sorry. Willing to pay off Shi Yue to keep him quiet and appease his own guilt. But not willing to speak the truth and absolve all wrongs. A cowardly character.
I remember now why I hated the 2nd female lead before I even knew about her character. It is Li Qing Qing from "Dear Mom". Ugh! I think that will have me forever hating Huang Esther as an actress.
