I was expecting to see an active comment section for this drama, considering that everyone was talking about it on social media . where's everyone lmao?
No one said America doesnât have propaganda either? All countries have their own propaganda ingrained in their…
hum ok Iâll stop engaging because at this point youâre purposely ignoring, generalizing and misunderstanding my point.
Youâre here trying to âdisproveâ my comment when I clearly told you multiple times that I was not arguing with you because my point is not a generalization to begin with, itâs a neutral commentary about a specific fraction of people in this comment section who are unaware of their own biases.

Again weâre not arguing the same thing. Iâve never seen the drama youâre talking about. You seem to think that all comments denouncing the propaganda are also thinking that the offence is in the delivery.
But the comments I am addressing are not along that line. Theyâre comments showing disdain towards retelling this part of chinaâs history all together. Itâs just blatant hypocrisy, not about the dosage of the propaganda.
If theyâre able to maintain their neutrality while watching western movies and still view them as just history, despite how controversial and indoctrinating they are, whatâs stopping them from also viewing this piece as history? why is it so scary now?
To me this is ironic, laughable and showing yet again western exceptionalism. Both sides are being exploited by the ruling class and indoctrinated in their own way. Yet the western audience in the comments is so offended and so put off that they have to drop it. Where is this energy when Hollywood comes out with another propaganda piece? Its not there because obviously when the west produces historical movies itâs considered âhistoryâ hence its completely acceptable. Hypocrisy.

Again where am I saying that this isnât propaganda, where am I saying that you have no right to think that this is propaganda? Please show me.
Because as far as Iâm aware Iâm simply pointing out a double standard and calling out the superiority of the west. Because itâs laughable. Weâre not arguing the same thing here.

Iâm sorry but who denied the propaganda? Surely thatâs not the only thing you got from my comment. Did you miss the part where I said I was calling out the double standards? Because I dare you to deny the fact that the same people flaunting their impeccable neutrality, have never waved an american flag, voted against democracy, consumed western propaganda. I dare you.
The reactions here are fueled by an underlying sinophobia, a fear of the east but also the belief that chinese people are incapable of retelling and consuming their own history without being weak minded gullible robots. Its the way that no one would show this kind of distaste if it was a retelling of ww2 or American wars. Retellings that are filled with a white supremacist doctrine, doing the biggest harm to humanity by indoctrinating the white youth into becoming neo-nazies.
So again, letâs not miss my point. What Iâm pointing here is moral high ground the western audiences is showing. Instead of worrying about this specific propaganda piece that the poor weak minded chinese people will watch, worry about your own media and donât be a hypocrite because most likely than not, youâre also indoctrinated, you wave oppressive flags, mourn a colonizing monarch like a weirdo, watch propaganda war movies (but its ok to watch those because theyâre american, right) and so on.
nah iâm sorry but I have to laugh. So many people heated about this drama being too patriotic and propaganda for communist ideologies, yet each and every one of you is so deeply indoctrinated on the daily that you donât see all the pro war, american exceptionalism, capitalist western supremacy nestled in every crevice of the news, shows and movies you watch. So uncomfortable for what? Youâre no better, this propaganda is just obvious to you because its different from the propaganda youâre used to. So scared of a chinese flag yet yâall wonât bat an eye when they wave the american flag that terrorized the global south for decades. Get off your high horse.
the dynamic between the leads is so new to me. I think its my first time seeing two leads being shy around each other while remaining respectful and kind. they both encourage and support each other, its honestly quite adorable. what I really love is that the fl doesn't mess up when she tries something new, isn't an idiot and is actually just a normal hardworking girl.
I am surprised time travelling plot in Cdramaland is allowed again.
My guess is that the writers will add the usual "it was all a dream" or "the fl is a writer and this is all just a story" end scene. people know that those scenes are just to bypass censorship so they ignore them,
Iâve just started the dramas but I really canât help but judge the mom. HARD. As a parent you should be ready to take on this kind of responsibility no matter what. You donât bring in your child into your financial struggles. You suck it up alone. How can you live with yourself when your kid sacrificed their life to pay for debt that have nothing to do with them? Realistically the mom is an asshole and a coward for bringing down her daughter with her, she shouldâve forced her to go back to uni no matter what and shouldâve kept it a secret. Sheâs not a poor pitiful woman, sheâs just plain selfish, I donât like how theyâre making us empathize with her. Iâm not buying it.
