I think its extremely hurtful to disparage this « kind » of women, because women who are bubbly, happy-go-lucky…
Sure, but she isn’t just that, she also embodies some harmful and stereotypical characterizations and it would be ignorant to disregard that completely. I think we can acknowledge that being bubbly is not a negative trait but they also did write her to be ditsy, childlike, slow, weak and in need of saving. Those are stereotypes, they’re purposeful and to a certain extent they come from a place of prejudice. I agree that not all characters have to be girl bosses but let’s not ignore the intention, and the ramifications of this kind of representation. Again I like this drama but let’s not close our eyes and pretend here, she isn’t just a bubbly plant, she’s also a female character.
Personally, I don’t mind because at the end of the day it depends on the watcher and how they internalize this kind of representation. So again I’m neutral but I also wouldn’t jump on people who are sensitive to this kind of characterization because they’re within their rights to be critical.
I understand how the female character will put off a lot of people and its honestly understandable, we live in a world that is trying to move away from this kind of representation of women, but I still think that this drama is really enjoyable and captivating. Also this kind of chemistry is rare these days
the choice of a MENA aesthetic for the devil's lair does not go unnoticed, puts a bitter taste in my mouth. bastardized cultural symbols and appropriation everywhere.
if you're someone who likes quality, this will be hard to watch. But if you're looking to pass time, it does the job. I still recommend you watch the classics soyou won't spoil yourself the genre
in my heart cheese PZ can do no wrong he's a sweet adorable innocent baby. yes he's creepy and sends chills down my back but then when they show flashbacks of young PZ I start to feel empathetic again
