I watched every version of this drama and hated the ML in every single one. This dude is a tyrant to his colleagues and has a nasty temper with everyone. His obsession with her is rooted in trauma bonding and mommy issues. Every time we see him thinking about the past, its a scene where the fl is doing emotional labour. He loves the fl bcs of her abundant acceptance and optimism yet he's anything but that, and treats anyone that is ugly as below him. He's trash and objectively speaking he doesn't love her, he's just a vampire who's addicted to her looks and giving nature.
the biggest criticism I have for this trilogy is the writing of yumi's character.
Yes,this drama mainly focuses on her relationships but I don't feel there's enough dimension to her character. why does she have these men fawning over her? what is it about her that is different? its ironic since as viewers we see and know her mind, but yet ?
again another perfectly acceptable decent historical drama received with unwarranted hate. at a certain point some of y'all need to face the fact that its the genre you don't like not the drama. the tone and pacing of this drama is clearly defined from episode one, why are you surprised after 6 episodes that the drama hasn't changed? historicals are know for being slightly mundane to leave room for the historical themes to set the mood.
the only nerve grinding character was the older brother, not only is he insufferable but he also has no regards to proper historical linguistics. again this is not a masterpiece but this is still a solid watch. if you're a history buff, enjoy yourself !
it hilarious to me how ZXC is always in the best dramas, this guy never misses. either him or someone on his team has a good eye for choosing his future work. one of the few c-actors with good judgment and high standards srsly
this is a decent filler drama that will entertain you but it's definitely not an 8. despite the trendy trope; the amateur acting, rudimentary writing and low budget would put it in the 6-7 range not 8.
if the viewers have second lead syndrome, it means that the writing is lousy. you need to give us reasonable reasons to like a character and honestly it was not communicated to us. love jinyoung but his character was not written in a way we would root for him, he needs at least 20% more positive writing
quite a fair bit of plot holes, world building inconsistencies and awkward acting, a better version of this would be Shining for one thing. Also thi rating is way too inflated considering its a webdrama with very very rudimentary writing and budget, but it's expected since the leads are idols. if you're new to the genre this should be the last show in your list of time travel/multiverse dramas so you don't spoil the really good ones. if you haven't watched SFOT yet, maybe start with that, then Someday or one day and Reset. overall this is a 6.5/10 for seasoned drama watchers but if you're new to the genre and like idols this could be a 9/10
idk what kind of vendetta y'all have against this drama but this was just a typical historical romcom drama. not especially bad nor especially good, just a normal drama. I'm seeing a lot of bias in this comment section and unwarranted hate. watch it if you like historical romcoms
I've been really looking forward to watching this drama but the news of a second season without the same fl is bumming me out. i'm scared this will end with an open ending or a tbc. I like a consistent otp
I've heard that it has an open ending, can you spoil me the ending so I can decide whether to watch this or not!?
I think it was a decent filler drama with elements of fantasy but not impressive to even leave an impression on you. I recommend you watch it if there's reaaally nothing else to watch.
That celebrity/idol is the most boring, uninteresting, unimportant character ever. She has too much screentime, I could not give two fucks about her storyline. They go too deep into her issues and life, issues that have no impact on the main plot. Also the actress is not very expressive, she's extremely dull, stiff and her presence on screen is weak. There's a big gap between her and the main leads, whenever they're on screen together, the difference in experience is palpable.
Besides that this drama is good. It's actually not slow at all, it has a good pace to it. If you think it's bad, it's probably just not your cup of tea. Because objectively this drama is exactly what it claims to be, there's no deception everything is intentional. From episode one the tone is set very clearly. If you don't like it drop it no need to rate a genre you don't like.
damn I didn't realize leo was so young 😳 soon i'll have to prepare myself for the new batch of mls born in the 2000s, actually he's almost a 2000 baby himself. wild
