Can anyone share if/how Blood River overlaps in timeline or characters with Blood of Youth? Really enjoyed Blood of Youth but this show is so different in energy (and even lighting lol). I know they're in the same universe so I'm trying to make the link between the two shows.
The screenplay's been adapted and changed quite a bit from the novel (no rebirth) but thankfully they managed to keep the former lovers plotline between Gu Chu Sheng and Chu Yu. Trailers look good
While I usually think that most Chinese dramas could do with less episodes, they ended up cutting too much this time... The abrupt edits are such a waste of all the work put in by the cast and crew, and a letdown to audiences )):
A naturalistic, slice-of-life family drama. Softly moving and definitely made me chortle more than a few times.…
Also also I have to add that Liu Lin who plays the mother is just world-class - never showy or dramatic but so nuanced, immersive, and I wish she were my family T______T

why is everyone time travelling or dreaming in china lol
same reason why every other new anime release is an isekai. ngl most are mostly trash but i consume them like i consume junk food anyway. (but the production value on this short drama is above average i'd say
Why are you spreading negativity towards jisoo nonstop like your life defend on it. Don't blame her when the director…
Take a breath and try to see that you're reading hyper-negativity in a fairly neutral statement. But yes, shame🥺 on 😢me 🥺 for pointing out the practical limitations Jisoo faced when filming with her incredibly hectic schedule - a very real-world touch-grass limitation which is apparent to me because I work in the industry and know what's realistic for a production
Jeezus it's like you don't realize the kind of fan behavior that discourages casual audiences from wanting to watch the movie
Season 2 is so deserved and I'm hyped for it. Rewatching this 4 years later and it still holds up. Every episode and case flows so smoothly and logically (!) to the next that I breezed through 18 eps just like that.
Lmao they most probably had to change Jihye's weapon to a gun because Jisoo couldn't commit time for sword action training...... I really do love the novel and manhwa so I'll still check it out. Too many big names to fail commercially but if that trailer's any indication of the quality, it'll still be a flop.
ehm... what am i watching here...? 👀 how come Yang Xu wen is acting here? well, this is a first for me, where…
I wondered the same and so went to search up Weibo. This show was filmed in 2020 (!)😂 I suspected an old production based on the color grading, but dang, Tencent sat on this for almost 5 years?? Altho the production team probably got an infusion of investments to release this given Yang's growing fame
The physical comedy isn't landing for me but this is still a refreshing take on a workplace romcom that doesn't revolve around copious amounts of drinking
Same here. I absolutely adore the leads but imo the heavy focus on hunting demons is what really makes this show…
Yes! The romance also helps showcase the best of their personalities. Banxia's girlishness never detracts from her forwardness (how cute was she when advocating for XY to the neighbours and her parents), and Xuanye is stoic but always takes BX seriously whether she's upset or daydreaming of becoming a kungfu master overnight. (Oh and because of this I'll forgive the childhood friends cliche). It applies to the secondary characters too - we don't get much screentime with Sima but her approach to marriage really shows her chivalry and independence.
