Yes, book 2 ends with XY going back to jing, but they get engaged in the first chapters of book 3. I am trying to find the descriptions for book 1 and book 3, but no luck yet. Book 2 has 18 chapters I believe, a lot of things happens. Her engagement with feng long it's only 2 chapters, the main focus is Jing and XL. If you take feng long engagement as a landmark for the description, which I personally don't, than I guess you can think about feng long as being the right person and XL as the person she loves, since she sent him the crystal ball, but it's far fetched. Jing and XL are the main candidates in lyf. I don't believe XY ever saw feng long as the right man, more like the best choice giving the situation.

And this "no wedding night" here is important, especially since as far as I know tong hua's couples always end up being intimate. I am actually quite curious if she has any novel in which this didn't happen. XY and XL's encounter from chapter 43 is the closest she gets to an intimate moment in lyf, IMO.

I believe she gets engaged with Jing in the second chapter of volume 3, second or third, I don't recall exactly. However she delays setting a wedding date to him for 43 years. In the second volume XL asks XY 4 questions, if she is willing to marry feng long and she said no. The second question was if she is willing to marry jing and she didn't reply, therefore XL rephrased it and instead of jing, he referred to him as 17, who's basically still jing, but a free jing, without any commitments to the tushan clan. She quickly said yes to this question. Next and last question was who do you most want to spend your entire life with and as I said previously, she wasn't able to reply with 17 again, which IMO speaks volumes.

Volume 2 ends with XY sending the crystal ball to XL and after she gets rejected, she goes back to Jing basically. I guess if one favors Jing is easier to visualise Feng long as being the one that the description refers to as being the right person, since obviously XL can't fit the "right one" mark, thus placing him in "the one she loves" category is not an option for a Jing's fan to consider. Very far fetched IMO, since I doubt that any oficial description will be waste on Feng Long versus Jing. Also worth mentioning is that volume 2 also covers XL's questions, XY told him that she îs willing to marry 17, but when he pushed forward and asked her who she most want to spend her entire life with, she couldn't reply 17 again.

Feng Long didn't even cross my mind, I don't see him as such an important character worthy of being added to the description. I guess it's up to anyone's interpretation though. IMO jing is obvious the suitable one, since he was the only one who had the will to stay by her side forever and put her first.
I've been rewatching LYF recently and I'm a bit curious on Xiaoyao's scene in episode 32. When she woke up but…
Also worth mentioning is the official description of volume 2, "how should one choose between the right person and the one they love". Obviously one of them is the suitable one and the other is the one she loves. Not that hard to figurate out who is who, if you ask me.
The writer herself has said the Jing is XY's lover. It is him who is in her heart.
I don't know, I still don't see why she finds it difficult to adapt CX - yaojing's relationship into a drama. That statement of hers made me think of XL precisely because he's the only one not mentioned, altough he has a big role into the story, let's not forget he îs the one who has the other lovers bug, but I guess it's up to anyone one's interpretation.

Why would TH belive XY falling in love with Jing is difficult to adapt into the script? Their story is quite straight forward. Maybe she hinted at XL and XY with that statement.
I started watching this cause It was recommended to me because I was looking for secondary couples that outshine…
So is their story similar to yan da and yan shi? Looking for something similar ever since I have watched Ice Fantasy, 7 years ago, lol, but I haven't found anything yet. If you have any recomandation, I'd highly apreciate it.
100% agree with this comment...its her heart that chose Ye Shi Qi. She fell for way back before his feelings made…
"She said she would never cry for a man but she cried for Jing. (Yes she never cried for XL. They added that scene in the drama but XY never cried after XL disappeared after treating her in the novel lol)"
" For whatever reason, Xiao Yao’s heart was filled with an endless ache. She suddenly grabbed Furball’s neck tightly and Furball squirmed in annoyance but didn’t really put up a fuss. It cocked its head and endured with a sigh.
Xiao Yao buried her face in Furball’s neck as her tears came tumbling down, one after another, falling silently on Furball’s feathers and disappearing."
