It's pretty confusing at the end as well/open to interpretation, but I enjoyed it overall. It has some more serious parts but also sweet parts too.

There have been series that got better as they went on so I'm hoping for that. And I'm excited for the year of Vampire BL :)

Your comment definitely felt like you were attacking my review/me. I don't get the same messaging that you do that queer media has more expectations of/representation of safer sex than straight media but we have likely watched different things from different countries. I agree with you that I don't think queer media should have a higher expectation than non-queer media regarding safer sex practices, both should fit them in the the plot naturally. I do think they can fit them in in a non-preachy but realistic way. I wrote a fanfic of Alan & Jeff where the characters discussed past partners/STD checks in a realistic way. I know I've had these conversations with my own partners and it's disappointing to rarely see/read these in the romance genre (queer or straight).

Yes, I am dedicated to the BL genre. I have spent thousands and thousands of hours watching, writing reviews, creating videos, creating memes and participating in discussions around BL. I'm confused about what you are taking issue with. Have you watched the series Bed Friend? I liked how in the series they go to get tested for STDs. I'd be happy to see this in straight romances as well because it is very rarely shown. I disagree that BL has a huge over representation, I can think of less than 20 series/movies that show condom use/STD checks out of hundreds that I've watched. Are you taking an issue with me using the term "safe sex"? I used it as a more general term (not just condom use). I'll update my review to be more specific and say that I liked how they got tested for STDs.

How would chain mail prevent an allergic reaction to peanuts? Though again those who have severe allergies generally have epi pens so they can survive and not die from anaphylactic shock.

Yes, the ending was rushed, I wonder if they were/are planning a season 2??? The series certainly had its flaws many of which could have been fixed (i.e. moving a location of an injury in the final episode so the result made sense as 1 example), but I did really enjoy it which is why I gave it an 8.5 for the uncut version and 8 for the cut.

Hyun wrote that note that fell out of his diary because when he read it at 8:05 it says it's to Dongho (at first I thought Dongho had snuck it in and it was the first time Hyun was reading it). In the present, Hyun crossed off the last 2 lines and then wrote out the rest. So his running back may not have actually happened because why wouldn't he have updated the note back then? But then at the end it's implied that Dongho entered the book shop and Hyun says "you're here, you're late." The title of this episode is "the words I couldn't say" which makes it seem that he didn't actually confess back then but the series is called "Happy Ending." So I really don't know. I think they could either be just friends in the present or boyfriends, up to viewer interpretation

People are really different in what they like in fiction so if you're enjoying it, then I'd say give it a go :)

The priest's insistence on forgiveness might be realistic but I still did not like it (I didn't take off points for that though). Yes, I agree with the rest of your points, there was some lazy writing/things happened "because the writer said so".

The university student was 19 when they met and the mom made the professor wait until he was 20. That's still morally/ethically wrong, but the student was an adult.

you bring up some good points but yes I do think it was too slowly paced for most of it and then the ending was extremely rushed

thanks for the information, I'll update my review - I still think Day could have easily gone to another country and not waited 3 years but tons of stuff in drama are made up so I didn't take off points for it
