I don’t understand why they’re making jade so cringy… wasn’t he supposed to be more shy and not noticeable…
I haven't read the book but I heard Jade was more like Adachi from Cherry Magic or Guy in My Dear Gangster Oppa...the creators are definitely going for a comedy but this style isn't working for me
Can’t you just watch something for fun? This series isn’t that serious to begin with. Watch it completely…
By your logic, you should wait to critique my review until after I have finished the series/the review. I always do a first impression review, then sometimes I update it along the way but then I always do a final review. It's a busy BL release day so I'll watch the final 2 episodes and update my review in the next few days. Also just because a series is consistent with its trailer doesn't mean everyone thinks the series is good/enjoys it. Consistency does not always equate enjoyment.
I am really surprised that you rated it that high even though you have a major problem with literally one of the…
my final score might go down...I really don't know how to rate it, because the acting and production value is stellar, update watched ep 7 and I'm liking this even less
which random scene??Seriously, people need to stop using the word ¨random¨ for everything....lol
it was ep 1 around 5 minutes, I didn't notice he was crying when I first watched it so it seemed very random (makes sense after what we see in episode 2), I removed it from my review
though I think this is a good adaptation from the book, I'm going to include some book information that I think…
1. Yai is 20 in the series (18 in the book) and Jom is 24/25? in both which is another reason why Jom is reluctant to reciprocate/act on his own feelings (in addition to being heartbroken, shock of being in a different time, being a servant and not recognizing subtle flirting as actual flirting)
2. Yai has an instant attraction to Jom because in a past life he was in love with Jom (who travels from the 1920s back even further before traveling to the present, the series won't show Jom's 2nd time travel only the first one). So Yai doesn't recognize Jom but his soul/heart does.
3. Jom doesn't receive bad karma from telling what he saw at the river, he later does a good deed and delivers a letter, he talks about how he must have received good karma because of the happy years he spent in the present with his boyfriend
note: they did change quite a few things from the book to the series, (new characters, changing when things happened, adding new plot points) but I enjoyed the series
Wow you are always so fast with all the new series ! 👏👏👏👏 it’s cute until now but the boss following…
Haha, very welcome :) This does have 10 episodes instead of 8 and I don't see a side couple (yet) so they might be able to pace it well, too early to know for sure
thanks for the info, I updated my review though it is geoblocked so not everyone can watch it on youtube unfortunately
Yeah, there are so many streaming platforms that it can get really expensive, I totally feel you on that one. I'll have to look up those kdramas, I haven't really explored kdramas on disney+ yet, mostly watch them on Viki & Netflix.
I agree.. but the side couple does eventually make progress and at least they give us a reason why it’s hard…
Yes, I need to update my review, I liked the second couple more and more as the series went on. I think it was in one of the beginning episodes where Minato clearly did not want to kiss/physical affection and Shin kept going after him which is why (even in an established relationship) that felt a bit aggressive. It's totally understandable though that Shin wants physical affection, Minato even refuses to verbally tell Shin that he likes him which is so disappointing.
