I think that there was love at 1st sight scene. Do you remember flashback to when Thames and Bua (Mon's sister)…
true about the flashback, wish we had seen that sooner because it was just a really odd dynamic (and even looking at a picture and being that infatuated/flirty seems a bit strange to me)
there is a bunch of nonsense world building that you pointed out, the rules are broken when it's convenient for the plot

episode 1 differences in the uncut version, more/longer at the beginning, 23-28 flashback with boyfriend and showing a dream house drawing, 37-44 longer post break up scene ripping up the drawing, drinking, getting assaulted by a rando outside the club, longer crying/driving sequence, 47-51 being discovered by Ming, mom and son talking, 52-54 asked Ming to use his phone, more at the market scenes
I thought the acting and directing was terrible - very subpar. The plot holes are everywhere. Iām not sure how…
That's a totally fair assessment, I did read the manga and tried to review the series by itself but maybe the manga has influenced how I viewed the series. I might mull it over some more/re-watch parts of it and update my review. I also give series that tell more unique stories/tackle real world issues a bit of a review boost...
I do a First Impression and then generally update along the way but I always update it to a final review. Some…
Maybe I'm not understanding how MDL works. Right now the average is 7.3, this is from 146 people giving it a rating right? It's not my one 7.5 review rating that gave it this average? Or are you saying that me rating it 7.5 with a detailed review of my reasons will prevent people from watching it? I think maybe you are giving me too much credit. If/when my opinions change of a series as it continues, I generally go back and update them. I always update after the last episode has aired. I promise you that if I think episode 2 is phenomenal then I will go back and up my rating/review. However I am not going to change my rating/review right now. I tried to write my first impression as an episode review instead but it doesn't keep the formatting in the same way. As you said, MDL does not prohibit writing a review before a series has finished. If this is something you want changed, then please contact MDL.

My review says that I've seen episode 1 of 12. When hundreds/thousands of people watch and rate a series, I don't think one 7.5 is going to make much of a difference... I'm intuiting that you love this series. Please write a review to that effect. I've seen many series where people give all aspects 10/10 and others give all aspects 1/10 with reviews in between. People can then read thru the reviews/watch the first episode and make up their mind. Everyone brings different viewpoints/past experiences to watching/reading fiction, variety is the spice of life.
Writing a review and rating the whole series just after watching the first episode is a bit much.
I do a First Impression and then generally update along the way but I always update it to a final review. Some people aren't sure if they want to start a series or not so I think a First Impression might help those people.
Genuine question, why did you think Mahiro was selfish and immature? Personally I thought Ichijo was the more…
I read your comment and I do agree that Souta is portrayed as an idiotic child. In his defense about the wanting to kiss but not being sure of his feelings, not everyone is aware of their sexual orientation from birth. I totally get Mahiro not wanting to be an experiment but they could have had a conversation and more understanding about Souta going through a journey of figuring out his sexuality. I don't know, overall the writers really messed up both their characters which is unfortunate because I think this had a really interesting premise with the cooking, naked dining & countryside setting...

Mahiro lied to Souta and said that he did have feelings for him in the past but did not in the present. Mahiro kept running away/avoiding telling Mahiro about his feelings (I think he even admitted he'd rather silently simp from afar). Mahiro oddly insisted that Souta was straight even though Souta never said explicitly his sexual orientation. Souta bothered me as well as I mentioned, but at least once he figured something out he pursued it/was more forthright. Both of them have terrible communication skills and I didn't really want them together at the end. If they could have shown more Mahiro having internalized homophobia (and or dealing with homophobia) then I could sympathize with him a bit more but the series did not show that.
