Gu Jiusi's parents are once again, the best parents and best in-laws of any historical that I've seen. They're strict but loving, serious when they need to be but funny at the right times.
The Gu Family relationship is so cute and funny! It's amazing to see Yiru being treated so well by her in-laws, she really deserves the care. I came across the drama on a whim and don't regret starting it at all.
The fact that Tantai Jin carved Ye Xiwu's tombstone to be "Tantai Jin's Beloved Wife Ye Xiwu" but his as only "Ye Xiwu's husband Tantai Jin" shows how he understood that the ways of the world would never allow them to be truly together...but he still can't stop loving Ye Xiwu/Li Susu. There are still doubts in his mind whether Ye Xiwu really loves him, so he doesn't write beloved husband...This is so freaking heartbreaking.
My heart broke when Cang Jiumin's master (Zhao You) told him that "No one should forever live in darkness". His master is one of the few people that truly understands him, while everyone else is telling him the exact opposite thing.
That sect leader in red (sorry, couldn't be bothered to recall the sect name) actually makes me speechless. Like, how did you educate your son as he grew up? He's literally a piece of shit. 💀💀💀 While all your other disciples are out there killing demons your precious little son (wowow how cute!) is sitting on his couch with a bunch of women. 💀
For everyone questioning why the Dream Arc was even necessary, if you've watched today's episode, it should have…
I do admit that it was a bit draggy for me, but it makes sense that the two had to go through the dream for anything to move forward. Ye Xiwu realizes that she has to do the same thing that Ming Ye did, and exchange her immortal bone for his demon bone.
The dungeon scene in episode 26 is one of the best drama scenes I have ever watched. The camera angle, the costume, the expressions, the acting...everything was perfect. It was iconic.
Tantai Jin desperately clinging onto Ye Xiwu, his jaws clenched with a face full of betrayal, disbelief, and anger at her and the entire world. Ye Xiwu helplessly looking back at him. The amount of betrayal TTJ must have felt then must have been undescribable and so much more painful than the six needles in his heart, and on the other hand, all YXW wanted now was to die. The light behind them that lit up their figures in red really added that final touch to the scene as well.
This is the episode all of us needed before everything gets angsty again. I was stupidly smiling throughout half of ep19, and confused and panicked Bai Yu was hilarious! I know the good days won't last for long, but the episode was so cute and sweet.
