I recall watching a video on Douyin in which the cast and director were talking about how they changed the romance between the leads to be one that slowly progressed as the entire plot progressed. It does seem slow, but it goes with the plot very well imo. Xiao Heng and Fangfei are slowly falling for one another, but this is happening as they are discovering more secrets and schemes. I actually really like the dynamic between the leads right now. And remember, there are 40 episodes and it seems like you're only on the 12th.

I totally agree with the losing steam in the earlier episodes! They kind of just felt like filler episodes, in a way, but it soon picked up after that and was very enjoyable for me! Hopefully, it'll be the same for you. Happy watching!

Some people are complaining that there isn't enough substance to the plot and the same people are complaining about the mom LOL! What even do they actually want from a drama??

I'm 3 episodes in and I absolutely love the fact that half the scenes right now are just them quietly sitting, eating, or walking through the snowy streets of Finland. It's just so peaceful, cute and magical.

Aw, thank you! I had a lot of fun translating but unfortunately, due to so much stuff going on in my life, I had to stop. (Plus, the discovery of my translations getting stolen wasn't much of a motivation either, but maybe I'll finish translating the novel in the future just for my own sake!)

I'm not a frequent Kdrama watcher so I definitely don't have the experience that most of the people here do, but I agree that the drama was quite rushed as it neared the finale with some typical tropes. HOWEVER, the romance itself was very cute and enjoyable, as were the relationships between certain characters that the ending tied together well.

Also, am I the only one who thinks that Noh Sooan was hilarious? LOL

Chinese netizens are crazy lol. They're either mad about Zhou Dongyu and saying that she's "ugly" (she is gorgeous, they need new pairs of eyes), or claim that the acting isn't on par. Especially in this era with young actors people call "Little fresh meat" in China, there's a lot of unnecessary hate because some netizens are poor and sad souls.

...this is not a movie. But I agree with what you said. Douban is a VERY superficial site centered around netizen hate. Unless a drama is truly exceptional (like Nirvana in Fire, The Untamed), it will attract a load of haters determined to bring the rating down.

I totally agree. It's also infuriating that she is so much more capable than her brother, but her father only seems to care about his future. As for his daughter, he only wants her marriage to benefit him and his son.
