I agree she acts like a "jilted lover" as it is jealousy driving her, but it is about losing control over her son and being not the most important one anymore in his life, not YD per se. This is why she can't see past her hatred for YD bc she took and still tries to take her son away, and "ruined him" in making him want to be the father of a child not of his blood. Her actions in the past few episodes make you really believe that being the case. She had proven she can stand up and fight for whatever (inanity) she believes in, but here in the case where she is adamant it is about her own selfish desires and feelings, her own resentment and hate she is unable to overcome, not the wellbeing of her son. She is actually working actively against it, in her delusion knowing what is best for him. Hell it is not even that, it is because she cannot stand YD and how the child is not of her bloodline. It completely blinds her not only that SHE is the one standing in the way of her son happiness (spoiler alert she does not care for it, because it is the wrong kind of happiness he is NOT allowed to have!) but also the gargantuan hypocrisy of it all. Howler Monkey came into the marriage with her teenage son, hence a boy not being her husband's bio son. She knows the hardship and the length of desperation one would go to protect their child in a society that stigmatizes single mothers, but instead of coming to an understanding as time passes, her insurmountable hatred makes her blame YD for it, seeing her as lesser and at fault, when she had been in the exact same situation back then. Worse even, her son has accepted all YD's circumstances and loves her in spite, plans to be a family with YD and the child that (may/is) not his own blood. Which is basically what Patrick did and yet it is the biggest sin of all for this demon. BRAAAAAAAINWOOOOOOORMS. There is no other explanation, seriously. Plus she is lamenting TK being lonely and not dating after losing YD, yet not seeing SHE IS the root cause for it. Fucking hell. Actual brainrot.

Another assorted past situations now being the reddest flags: Howler monkey’s weakass attempt of protest with running away/divorce that did not last longer than a day and she ended up blaming on her son in the end. When TK agreed to marry the delulu dingleburger in order to assuage granny and restore his mothers’ standing in the family after her ineffectual hissy fit. As the marriage preparations progressed, momzilla again idly stood by, well knowing why he did it and him not even liking the hellspawn, nor the idea of marriage. She blames Halmeoni for the forced wedding which is not fully wrong, sure, but she fails to see her part in it, what drove him so far in order to protect her. That demon is very quick in shifting blame, hence it is Halmeoni alone for TK going this far to device the contract and in effect she is at fault he’d met YD whom she hates so much now. The mental gymnastics of this bitch should be olympic, seriously.

It was Yeondoo who saved him from a life in misery and also Yeondoo who made him the happiest he had ever been in his life. So much that he reconsidered everything he believed regarding marriage and being a father himself, independent of the child being biologically his or not. And it is exactly this happiness the joseon momzilla lunatic destroyed for him for a year, preferably forever if she had her way, out of her own hubris and vain selfish need for revenge, to satisfy her hurt feelings and perceived betrayal she’s stuck in for a year already. And still Taekyung loves his mother, despite everything wants her approval for the life of his own choosing, the one she does not allow him to choose. He wants it, as she was all he had in his life as family, until Yeondoo appeared, that is. And I think this is also a reason why howler monkey can’t get over her irrational despise, has wrapped herself into it like the blackest, thorniest veil. YD took her place of importance she’d had before with her son, and he refuses to give it back up to his mother now, because now Yeondoo and Haneul are paramount to everything for him, even her. And she can’t STAND that, tried everything to regain that place, and failed which only reinforces her hatred for Yeondoo even more. It is the crappiest cycle of insanity, vain jealousy and delusion. Momzilla’s disappointment of his noncompliance and refusal to be controlled any longer by her reaches so far she disowned him, wanted to cut him deeply a final time (hence also that inane "you should feel the same pain." remark)

But, with all things considered, it was actually the greatest gift she could make him. Because if he wants to move forward with Yeondoo, Haneul and his life in general, he needs to free himself of her and the need for her approval, for she will never give it alone to spite YD for as long she can. So I think her last psychotic action with giving away his child (yes HIS, as he has never stopped seeing Haneul as such) and endangering the woman he loves in carting her off to her abuser, is the most surefire way to achieve that.

Right now Yeondoo is also Haneul's only parent and thus has the full parental rights and custody for her. Cockroach has less than zero say in regards of the child rn and can fuck off, as his paternity is not claimed nor proven yet legally. All he gets atm is goodwill of YD, which won't last long given events to come.)
