Because the writer is more comfortable writing 36 eps than 50 and that should be heeded then. Since they don't have to fill out the rest with needless bs then. Also afaik this is the new format for kbs 2 weekender going forward. 30 eps max but 3 family dramas a year instead of only two.
I like the change since 50 eps are rarely filled well and writers drift off too much into drawn out nonsense that serves nothing to the plot or characters. 30 eps does mitigate this from happening (i hope) since the writing has to be tighter and more focused than the meandering done with 50 eps.
FL's grandparents had cancer, several times over, but are now in remission. So i guess this is why the tag is…
Probably. But the show sold it as them worrying sick over their son never passing the exam until his death and their hard lives full of worry, but harmful fumes seem more likely 🥴
Yet to see a drama where the lead just has a physical disability that doesn't go away somehow or needs to be "cured"
Yeah seeing how the money for the injections is part of FL's main conflict i sadly don't see that this show will be different in this regard. *War flashbacks to Lovely Runner*
Watched episode 2 live and it builds up a lot on what was established yesterday. KJ's daddy issues vying for his stepfather's approval but never getting it, his stepsister disliking him (hope they don't build her up a villain, ML's mother is very loving to ML and also rich af (I did not get the deal she had with the mountain of money she stored (?) for a guy in a tresor???) ML's fam is about to get burgled next week due to said mountain, FL is so desperate to get the money for her injection that she asked her sister (in law?) for the money instead of going to eat dinner with her, and buys a shitton of lottery tickets with it. There she runs into ML and he is shocked since he is a scumbbag who never called her despite promising her to. And he still has her number saved even, so he is all quiet next to her to not be discovered and calls her to check if it was truly her who cursed him out on the crosswalk. And of course as soon he calls she starts cursing again, so now he knows. Very much enemies to lovers here, hope ML suffers for a while tho for what he did. There are more reasons to it, i think tho. His fam is a bit dysfunctional i think. Also I think her grandparents got some monies from insurance or something, not sure?
But also after months away from kdrama oooooh boooi my korean is very rusty lol. so don't ask for details lol. That the stream died every minute or two and i had to refresh did not help either, of course.
It is so nice to see how the usual suspects gathers here in the comment section for the currently airing weekender each time, not gonna lie. The ride and hopefully not die crew with many familiar names haha. Hiiiiii yall. Good to see ya :D
This weekender has its flaws like every one has, but i still like/liked it a lot. The leads do carry it and were the reason I watched it. That it is lower rated than Beauty and Mr. Romantic and has the same rating like the complete trainwreck The Real Has Come is a crime against good taste. But then again, MDL ratings have been always shit and way off, imo.
Saaaaame haha. The writer was warning and a red flag enough for me to not even try it and stay away lol. Then again, ever since LOYL ended i have been in a kdrama slump, so i have not watched much/many kdrama this year tbh (or didn't like them, like with fan darlings Lovely Runner/Queen of Tears for example. But i vowed to tune in here for ma boi KJH here and i am happy to see that they seem to make use of his excellent comedic talent and timing :D Glad to see you too :)
Nah, as it is usually the norm with weekenders, subs take a long while until they are released. Dramahood is often the quickest here. Or at least was in good old LYOL days heh. Otherwise viki will have them tomorrow, i guess.
it is quite a different weekender hahahttps://x.com/sundogsnrainbow/status/1840085413073207473
i love how chaotic this show is, but in the best way, and not in a screamy makjangy what the fuck is the writer doing way 😂 (could still happen ofc lol) But it does have a different feel than other weekender. Here is hoping :D
I don't even know where to start....so maybe I shouldn't.All I will remember about this series is the wasted potential.…
Well I guess I will be around again for Iron Family bc I am living the Junghyun stan life so watching it is a no brainer despite my overall meh attitude toward kdrama atm haha.
So happy i did sit out this nonsense here, with the ylag writer it could only be a trainwreck lol.
Don't watch it XD It's really a garbage drama and we all agree with this
Oh hiiii! Yeah i am popping in and out of here as i am not really watching kdrama ever since LYOL ended in March. Nothing appealed to me thus far, so it is a good old kdrama slump lol. I am interested in the iron family weekender tho since I love Junghyun's acting a lot ever since Mr. Queen. So maybe I see you there :D

I mean what did yall expect from the YLAG writer? It is actually going exactly as I thought it would be, tbh. Aka a narrative trainwreck on fire down the cliff... to keep 'The Real Has Come' company there 😂😂😂
Oh no.. I'm used to watch family drama with over 50 eps. Lol. Anyway they'll must have a good reason for shortening…
It's kbs approach to family dramas going forward with the weekenders following it having only 30 eps but we are getting 3 fam dramas per year instead of 2.i like it as it cuts out the drag and bloat of the genre but we will see how it goes 😄
