Same. If you check my list you gonna see don't vibe with a loooot of highly rated dramas here. Also bc MDL ratings are more a popularity contest than signifier for quality tbh, thus I stopped paying heed to it. It is muuuuuch better if you are deciding for yourself if you like a show in trying it out instead to listen to internet strangers too.

That's the spirit 😂 I'm tempted to watch bc it looks good, but I fear it's gonna derail like UF did. So I think I'm gonna tune in at the halfway point too. Or eps 30 at the earliest, (since I'm not watching the YLAG writer weekender, nope nope nope, I have a free slot here)

Eh it's a needed set up, given that dysfunctional family dynamic and leads relationship is developed throughout. For anything else there's a ffw button. 😂 Point being it has been a throughout enjoyable fam drama since the halfway point and gets overly criticized on mdl. Definitely better than that 7.4 rating that's for sure. But I think your enjoyment of it depends how well you are able to connect to/with the leads of course, as they carry that show for the most part.

Lol I completely changed my mind on Hyoshim and see now why these last episodes was needed if a bit unfortunate in timing for the leads to find true happiness later on. Need to do a write up but if you are interested in an analysis of mine, I made a long Twitter thread about the last episode

Second half is where Live Your Own Life takes off tbh (eps 25) It has just a slow start is all.

Lol, i am just hanging out here for a while out of boredom and habit bc after LOYL ended i no longer have a regular comment section i frequent tbh. i am not actually watching this fam drama 🤣 (I miss Taeho and Hyoshim tbh, weekends without them feel weird & will be still for a while)

It's normal since it's a weekend family drama that runs 6 months in total, 2x a year, heh. But it's a genre for itself and not for everyone.

it's just two eps a week tho, just for a longer time than regular kdrama. But given how it is bound to derail with that writer, staying away is not the worst choice tbh 😂

Pls do yourself a favor and watch the last Once Again eps as a treat to yourself. It still has one of the most satisfying and wholesome epilogues in kdramaland, and a full episode of that.

This is why I dropped it 51 eps in lol. Was way more invested into Live Your Own Life anyway, so no loss for me. Pity tho that they basically followed thru on nothing prior promised and it became a fully different mediocre thing.

Mildly interested in that one but I'll wit to see if the promises and premise are actually met this time, this daily burned me badly in this regard bc nothing wild or hilarious here.

Don't underestimate the effect it has for actors to star in a drama that's watched by a lot of the domestic public and them effectively being present every weekend for six months to a lot of eyes/exposure. Afaik kbs pays well too, that much that Hajun the male lead of the weekender Live Your Own Life that came before this can allow himself to take a break comfortably heh. Plus having good relations to one of the biggest public networks in SK does not hurt either, so yeah it's not the step back you assume it is. Leads are well beloved by the people afterwards and get often recognized and freebies like food or drinks 😁

Daily dramas are a different matter tho but weekenders generally stand/seen in high esteem afaik in SK. Fully different experience and learning experience for the actor too due to the long running time of it.

With other weekenders it was always a day later than it aired. You may have better luck watching subs on dramahood quicker than that. It's what I mainly used to watch Live Your Own Life (and re watched then later on Viki, or not)

FR, tho. Have been seeing this happening with TRHC, then Live Your Own Life and now here too. It is like clockwork and i don't get ppl being so shocked each time lmao. We have soaps here in our country that run since 1996 and counting, so yeah 50 eps is nothing in comparison lmao. I actually prefer that format by now as it gives a lotta time for relationship & char development and for you as viewer to get attached to the characters (or annoyed😂) I also like the sense of community during an airing weekender since regular kdrama are over again as soon you blink a few times too often (I'm passing on this fam drama tho due to the writer yikes)

it pays the bills and gets a lot of eyes on you during a long airing time. A good connection with KBS is also not to be undervalued either.

I love that the characters are flawed and were also in DWY, makes everything much more interesting tbh.
