It's a weekend family drama - they are typically 50+ episodes airing Sat/Sun. The Family daily dramas are usually…
I always feel like Simba at the start of a new weekender, bc it is the circle of life that these "wHy 50 ePisODEs" people pop up then, each time anew π
Looking forward to this one - I am sure I will get angry and annoyed at characters though - especially the mom…
It's gonna be howler monkey reloaded, sher π Same actress too, even (which is why i am sitting this one out, still not over my TRHC ptsd and this one is too close to it in messiness (from the looks of it) lmao. Will just lurk here from time to time to cackle about the yelling at chars/plot surely to follow π πΏ)
hmm i will put it on my PTW list to peek in how much it goes off the rails from its original premise from time to time before committing to watching it. KBS dailies have the tendency to promise to be one thing and end up something fully different. See Unpredictable Family who was supposed to be light fun comedy and ended up being neither of these things, so i am cautious with that one now, if mildly interested, unlike in the upcoming mess of a weekender lol.
I was so annoyed seeing her cry saying she missed him like you knew where he was the whole time and YOU ran away
I mean it is hyoshim, so logic flies out of the window more often than not π Hence when i have to put myself into her irrational little shoes i would say that the more time passed the harder it got for her to return to him. Bc in her mind, even tho she is missing him, she thinks she has forfeit the right to appear now in front of him after leaving like this. And surely he's moved on by now and would not want to see her anymore, right? So being Hyoshim with decades of ingrained "not rocking the boat" mindset that dies hard even after a year of "freedom", she rather tries nothing at all. Even if she misses him badly and regrets what happened a year ago, she stows the feeling away, tries to forget about it and to live her life. Because she missed her chance regarding that and nothing she can do now, right?
Which, when TH then appears explains her huge emotional reaction, hell, even relief as she ran toward him to hug him. Because he came back after all/found her and still wants to see her, despite everything that happened. And hey, how many have speculated that she would run again but she didn't. After they reunited it was a done deal and she has stayed at his side since, bc she was then ready for doing so. So there is that.
Maybe itβs just an irritating question, but when Carrots mom left the.house in the middle of the night to βtalkβ…
i mean we are talking here about the woman who did have a crying fit bc she was asked to pose in a bathing suit since the movie she auditioned for was x-rated & due to her confusing the directors. So i highly doubt it is the intended meaning of this scene, especially in a family drama, but i see how it can be interpreted as such.
I really did not like the last 2 episodes , especially the last one. As soon i was watched her making her decision…
It was necessary in the way of her having time to heal and be on her own, but it should have happened at an earlier point in the story indeed. But thats were she hit her point of crisis, especially regarding her own identity and what she wants out of life, so i get why it happened.... it was just a very unfortunate time to bring this into the story this close to the end. Last eps was good and rectified a lot, if a bit rushed with all the screentime squandered for deadbeat berore. To put this dreaded timeskip at the beginning of the eps was then the best decision possible in its bounds as it gave less time for moping and all the more to action/result.
Bit short on time atm, but since i look thru the scenes of eps 51 for my lyol eps 51 taeshim twitter thread rn, i'll, believe it or not, play devil's advocate for HS, once i have sorted my thoughts.
Also need to write a more comprehensive review for it... because what there is rn, is just... not good lmao.
sml has a one sided crush on FL and is delulu about her/it for way too long. She is only ever interested in ML tho and it shooooows. Writer is trying to sell it as love triangle but all there ever is are the main leads bickering/bantering and flirting and one delulu dude talking/monologuing at FL like the biggest r/niceguy. Including "I saw/knew her first" entitlement toward ML. It stops thankfully halfway through but his scenes with FL are best ffw-ed thru tbh lmao
does this show have any love triangles, sml, sfl or any kind of clingy little shit of a sml or sfl

Yep, the screeching one from THRC, no less π Also it is from the Young Lady And Gentleman writer which both are reasons for a hard pass from me tbh. Gonna enjoy my 6 months away from screeching moms before returning to the weekender clown circus in fall if the show's premise is interesting.
Despite my grousing about the last three eps (48-50) i will miss my Taehshim couple, or rather now the family of four, heh.
I mean most of the people who actively discuss here have been with series since the start, they have waited for…
Yeah this is why, after solving that illogical puzzle of her not coming to find him and yet being so very relieved when he appeared, i am not even mad about her anymore, tbh π Hyoshim does as Hyoshim does and Taeho is really the only one capable of handling that lmao

Hence also why i think she packed her things immediately to leave with him, now to stay at his side. Dunno when the wedding of them is, but given such an event needs some time to prepare, i think two weeks later at its fastest. They don't make that clear but i doubt either of them wanted to waste more time than already has passed so yeah heh. Pity how we have been robbed of them trying on different wedding attire together, as it was most fun in Once Again if you remember it heh, but eeeeh. I was really happy to see them leaving abroad to England for HS' study after the wedding and them not returning for two years after that. As we have seen that really helped their relationship bloom in a very tangible way hahahaha. (Also i am very amused by the fact that Hyoshim was shown waaaay more and longer pregnant onscreen than FL in TRHC was... where pregnancy was part of the MAIN plot, lmao)
Yes, with up and downs, but imo a very satisfying ending for the leads after all. There's a wedding and more :) And every character is in a better place than they were in the beginning. Plus the baddies got actually punished too (not a given in family dramas)

that's a perfect summary and explanation of everything π π π Been a wild ride for sure and i would have preferred if these three eps would not exist or at least exist at an earlier point before she agreed to marry him and left him behind like this. In the end she needed time away to heal but again, it should have happened much earlier before things got this serious with Taeho.
What i can say tho is this whole ordeal is solved better than it was in TRHC, since w Yeondoo there, you always feared her to run away again at every turn... but while anticlimactic, once Taehshim reunited/hugged it was a done deal & HS willingly returned & stayed at TH's side ever since. And thx to the immediate timeskip in the last episode we don't see much moping but more a state of action with them being swiftly brought back together & then getting married lol. I guess in this way the messed up pacing had its advantages as it cut out all filler π Still would have preferred less deadbeat bs and more character moments of course, but it turned out better than i thought only yesterday at the pits with eps 50 tbh. Last minute timeskip including twins surprise and them being shown as a happily married couple as they reminiscence about their past and then their future as expecting parents is the (only) last minute storytelling i approve of π
I guess w everything turning out well for #Taehshim after all, I can post the playlist i made for/about them on spotify after all. Definitely is missing some sad songs now, as i was going for happy & supportive in mood, but oh wellπ
You mean weekender recs? Or regular kdrama? For weekender: Five Enough, Once Again, My Father Is Strange, Homemade…
aww np glad you liked it. Caveat is only that it will take a while of wait till the last 5 eps are released, so i am savoring it whenever i need a pickme up heh. While the actress is good and funny her character is not the brightest lmao, you will see. I really like that premise tho... and i understand ML's thoughts w/o subs lol.
HS dipped at the beginning w the content of the letter being revealed and there was an immediate timeskip of one…
Heh, yeah it is a good if rushed epilogue for all characters and the leads but it is also the epitome of having written yourself in a corner as we could have spent waaaay more time in extending those often too brief scenes and character bits. That fell short due to writer having focused on pointless things too much before this, but oh well. They also mirrored a few things, aka HS running scene from the first eps is similar in the last and so is TH's (tearful) way to address her as "trainer nim" reminiscent of their first meetings. And while everything falls a bit too short to no other fault than the writers' corner writing, i can now put the show to rest without holding as much of a grudge as i do toward TRHC, lol. Definitely won't rewatch tho lol.
