Welcome to Saturdays notorious filler episode. Only that it is not a filler at all, but an hour of Taekyung’s heart fluttering in 4k. Yeah, we are (finally) going there and I got my birthday wish, with lots of leads scenes and almost zero of Cruella Clown. Hence, I am gonna jump with Captain In Ok into the Taekyoo shipping boat and set sail, mainly focusing on them in this incomplete recap.

Starting off with the writer’s most favorite plot device of “others having overheard the leads talking” plot device. The leads are speechless for a moment before TK apologizes and basically confesses he is not the father. Daesung’s reaction is other than expected. Like it looks like he is angry but instead for a punch he goes in for a hug, saying he is a real man in stepping up and saving their family (or something similar) He promises to keep quiet bc his sister can never know that and they should do the same. He even drags TK away to an alcohol tent and drinks with him or rather in presence of them both, singing his praises on TK haha. Taekyung is caught somewhere between being touched and embarrassed. They have to bring a very drunk uncle home and, since he dangerously drunk-blabs about Jinjja TK stays the night with him under the guise to take care of him, lol. I like how Uncle is brought more into the storyline and that in a surprising way (his reaction and now their wingman, lol) Taekyung still thinks about YD’s words as he watches DS sleep. At the breakfast table DS teases TK about how he is really the father of Jinjja for him, which earns him a cough from him and slaps from Bong Nim, lol. On their drive back the ratio of fugitive glances has increased quite a bit into YD’s direction heh.Her uncle had texted her telling her to treat TK like a deity. TK: This is not the Joseon era anymore. Me, thinking: Please tell your granny that xD Since they are not expected back yet by their fam, they have some free time, so YD asks him "What is your hobby, what are you doing for fun?" "Spacing out, to fully relax." YD: Gosh, your life sounds so boring. This won't do, turn the car around. I know a place" So that is how the arcade date came to be. lol

Scene is broken up by Joseon Granny keeping her other promise to Bong Nim and confusing In Ok why she is busy lol, which is meeting her at the old school the next day. Bong Nim gives gran a crash course/rundown about hangeul and then teaching her to write gran’s name. Ah yes, learning hangul, I have war flashbacks to my own time learning it here, ngl. But it is a very comprehensive, easy to learn alphabet/system after all. Writing (spelling) and reading it fast and good enough is more of a challenge. The old bat is a grumpy student as expected, so the tutoring is cut short.

Lmao, not TK complaining how noisy and flashy the arcade is. “You have never been here when you were younger?” “Nah, I had to study then, no time” he answers and YD drags him to the arcade fighting game booth, starts the game and loses to TK. “You are sure you never played this before?” “Yes, it is the first time.” YD’s competitiveness has awaken so she wants a rematch, which she… also loses lol. I so love the small glances and smirks TK does here, he is certainly proud of himself and having fun. And he does not stop showing off with all the games that follow which he wins wins wins and YD gets frustrated lmao. Talk about beginner’s luck. She spots a 2 people/couple photo booth midgame where she is crushed by him once more, and halts mid-sentence asking to take some pictures. Taekyung is a pouty boi bc she ceased playing with him and also his whiny "Let me go together with youuuuu" as he trails after her to the booth like a puppy is adorable as heck. Two students arrive as he waits for YD and tease him for standing here outside and doing couple shots by himself. His "Yes" is the most pouty answer i have ever heard said by this man (it is so nice to see more and more facets of his personality come through with how comfortable he is with her) but they give him the needed push to finally steps into the booth to join YD like he wanted to. Cuteness ensues with her teaching him to pose and then we get our ship ship ship moment when YD stumbles and and TK caught her, while forgetting to breathe, his name and everything else but YD for a moment. And the feeling is mutual it seems, but oh boi oh boi this episode is really TK falling in love saga (or rather, realizing it) I love these awkward babies.

Afterwards, YD shows/gives him the pictures of them both and TK is a happy camper. What i notice too is how open his body language is to her throughout (leaned forward/hands on table toward her, constantly seeking and holding her gaze and his voice is softer than usual too) He asks her if she wants to be friends and she is hesitant but agrees, tho brings the deadline and makes it wooooorse in saying they should not wait three months even, but part ways as soon we are ready.. Taekyung is trying to bargain for three months at least but YD is adamant about it. TK looks as if struck in the heart, like full EMOTIONAL DAMAGE. "So you can go back to your life, hating marriage" TK, not totally smiling through the pain: "Yes, I should do that :((((" It is very obvious not only that his old life has lost its charm for him, but also that he wants to travel into the past and suckerpunch his past self fo bringing up the damn deadline but even this is now void with YD wanting to rush things along. The saga of his feels continues and he makes a point in going back to grab the photo booth pics of them both and put it into his pocket aww..


There is a power outage in the Gong house, so this is the plotty plot device for In Ok and tattlecow to check if it is the same in the annex, and they discover that they gasp don’t share a bedroom. Mom is as sad about it as TK was when YD told him it is soon time to part ways, so she formulates a plan and is from now on Captain and first Shipper on the SSV Taekyoo throughout this episode lmao. So when they come home, they are asked by her to come to the main house. The annex needs some electrical work, so they have to sleep in the main house for a couple of days, which they do in YM's room (who has to sleep in grannys room and hates it bc she gets to sleep too early, lol) I loved this bit of her complaining why TK left the blanket and he pouts and says just: I didn't want to wake you up" before they go into the room, btw... which is cute and typical TK btw. But ofc in the room THERE IS JUST ONE BED. So the anticlimatic solution to it is YD sleeping in the bed and TK on the floor, but both are HYPER aware of each other’s presence. TK also looks, unkorean-like, very uncomfortable sleeping there on the floor. Better than the chair, tho tbh and I think that it has more to do with YD being so close, yet so far to him and her words of parting still echoing in his mind. I bet he ain’t sleeping much this night, lmao.

In Ok is very bothered by the possibility of TK/YD not getting along or having a conflict, so she does a few house rules to bring them closer starting the next morning: Fix your hubby’s necktie YD, no more lovingly. TK once more awkward/flustered by her stepping into his space, that cutie. And no formal names anymore, you call him sweetie from here on out haha. And In Ok tells them they have to take up couple yoga too, hahaa a true shipper. The contrast between the fake and real couples is still stark here, so they gotta do better.

Dad returns a literal changed man and we get the first sighting of lying lyra but that is thankfully it for now. Shitty ex is bound to return soon it seems.

Daesung visits TK in the clinic once more thanking him for being a real, good man for YD. He is worried that they will break up soon but TK denies that and tells him he plans to stick around and with her. OH????? maybe I heard that wrong but the man is directly contradicting/omitting YD’s three months deadline (bc lbr, it is long since not his anymore) and goes full hubby mode here. Nice. DS meets tattlecow outside and it is quite awkward but that is all. She still does not know they are basically inlaws, lol.

Daesung is making eyes at the new part timer who is his old flame, and hovers around her. Sourgrapes has a love triangle I could not care less about plus some secrets. Hyun Woo is jealous. Moving on.

yeondoo is meeting up with her former teaching assistant, I think and it is about a part time teaching job maybe? Just heard something about I wanna work. And the guy goes “well why tho, I heard about your husband, he has a good job is good looking and charming. We all heard he taught the chief instructor a lesson. He seems like a good person.” which prompts YD to think about TK and his offer to be friends and help her with the baby. Her face brightens, goes all smiley at that. “Aw, you must love him very much.” and she denies and reflects, but this scene basically shows that TK’s feelings are not one-sided. She is just much muuuuuch deeper in denial about loving TK than he is/was with her. Since she has her kid to consider and thus is even more afraid to "cross that line." Also because both are probably idiots in love who think that the other would never look at them romantically. Hahaha, omo, if they kneeeeew.

Almost an hour into the episode and it is the first scene of Cruella, love to see so few of her. Also this scene is more about her father than her. He signs the divorce paper and tells her she is no longer his daughter. Because f... her haha, poor jangho is crying afterwards tho. Cue he over-dramatically slow-walking thru the rain like a lost toddler, and I cannot help to laugh how comical and overwrought it looks. More importantly, Taekyung is having another head empty, only Yeondoo moment in his office post work at night, and full on smiles like a lovestruck fool at the thought of her but it is short-lived since he recalls her words of how they gonna part soon. "Why am i so bothered/upset about this?" Because you are in LOVE LOVE LOVE my man, ahem, sorry. He leaves to go home to her, but not before lovingly/wistfully staring at the pics of them both, he still carries with himself. Yep that man is officially a goner.

Witchy witch is still walking through the rain with sadly no lightening or white truck having struck her yet, and TK is too good too pure a man to ignore her. (Why?) He leads her to a convenience store to warm up. I just pretend the guy is very hungry so he needs ramen here and now and just strings her along for that. Flashback to them being teens and irritatingly romantic music is blaring. Seems she held a candle for him back then after all. I could not care less. And neither does TK because while she is reminiscing in the past, the man is eating his noodles. She asks him when he started to like her first and he is like...”yeah I dunno, gotta go now, bye.” And I am cackling. While he is too friendly with her he also does draw definite lines and does not fall for her nostalgic angle to stir up some feelings or whatever the fuck she is doing here. Damn you broad, he ain’t falling for it, he is too busy falling for Yeondoo. Get a hint hammered over your head at this point. Anyways, moving on.

Back in their new temporary crib, TK prepares his sleeping place but little sis is busting in, sees them sleeping apart and goes tattling to mom. Now she is even more worried that they fought, so TK and YD have no choice but play the THERE IS JUST ONE BED trope straight. In lying down in it together and it is super-effec-- err awkward, but mostly because both are so very aware of the other and the blistering UST (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/UnresolvedSexualTension) between them. “It is so good we agreed to be friends, so this is nothing.” Yeah YD nothing about this situation with its UST in neon letters above both of your heads looks and feels like bunking with a buddy, sorry to inform you. 😂 “Yes, so glad.” TK grumpily agrees bc friends sounds too distant by now, I bet. Especially after she told him that she is glad to know him, because he is such a warm, nice person. And if it weren’t for Jinjja she could herself seeing falling for him. Almost cruel how she is turning to sleep and leaving him with *these* words right after. Taekyung continues to feel both, words and her proximity VERY MUCH, bc outside of a lot of panicking glances, he also nearly jumps out of the bed to get a cup of water (THE MAN IS THIRSTY 😏) and hypes himself up that he can survive the night without dying the death of thousand feels. Back in their room and as soon the door is closed, TK lets out a long breath and with it all fake confidence dwindled as he is all nerves and feels. We are now observing a man falling in love, like one would with wildlife in nature lol. So get your popcorn ready. Praying to all gods he knows, he gets back to bed next to her, while she is already kdrama like fast asleep in a matter of minutes, haha. As she turns toward him, his head does too, watching her for a moment before reaching out and softly brushing her hair while holding his breath. IT IS THE CUTEST SHIT. AAAAAAAAAH He pulls away as if stung when she stirs afraid to wake her, while he is so so close to her and lies back down, leaving out the most shaky breath. And this is why the soon incoming heart beating sound is bullshit, because TK’s heart is already thrumming at 180bpm here and no one can tell me otherwise.

I just love the fact how YD is blissfully unaware of the sheer onslaught of butterflies and heat attacking this man's stomach as she is sleeping peacefully next to him. A bit relentless too, bc no matter how far Taekyung scoots to the furthest corner of the bed without falling off, wishing his heart and himself could stop hyperventilating, she follows him and snuggles up. IT IS THE CUTEST SHIT and AHJ doing a good good job here. Particularly when YD’s head ends up on his shoulder after all, because of course it would, and the man has to cover his mouth to not squee err scream out loud bc his brain short-circuited basically. Like he makes the panic and storm of emotions raging inside with his expression alone AUDIBLE. And then, there is the heartbeat FX and realization hits him like a white truck of doom. He looks at her asking “what is happening/why... Am I?" (Yes, yes Taekyung you ARE. Welcome to your whipped for wifey era 😏) and clutches his chest, with the heart threatening to burst out of there. IT IS THE CUTEST SHIT. Perfect ending to an episode without stoooopid cliffhanger. Just a man screaming inside because of feels overload for his wifey. As it should be hahaha.

THANK YOU DRAMA for finally delivering on the lead shipping end. Like, rewatching the earolier episodes, it became obvious that both are attracted to each other/buried feels from the start, however subtly, or unsubtle (TK going out of his way for her all the times) but still i have been waiting not only for more leads time together on their own, but also for showing TK's descend into madn... love more clearly. And as expected IT IS THE CUTEST SHIT. Plus couple yoga with copious UST tomorrow? Gosh, you are really spoiling meeeeeee. But ofc there is also delulu clown still sadly and i fear her dragging him away to a hotel room. Yikes. My theory of him getting drunk is TK being evasive to YD tomorrow, bc he will be FEELS TOO MUCH CANT DEAL and also frustration bc now where he is having feelings she still want to part ways soon and is not feeling the same for him (or so he thinks.) Hence escaping into alcohol, i guess. But main point is it is all about YD for him, Cruella does not matter AT ALL here. As it should be hahaha.

It was cute in the beginning/middle, but her character has started to annoy me ever since deceiving him/keeping her identity from him at all cost. The actress' lack of expressions/emotions does not help here either to re-endear me to their romance. Wish Do Hwan had someone on par with his acting, it would have been much more enjoyable then even with the questionable writing of FL (it would work better)
