Now that it's finished airing, how was it? Much romance? Any love triangles? Happy ending?
imo a good watch to pass time, but nothing special (haven't finished it yet tho)

Dali and the cocky prince πŸ€ͺ
Heh. it does have mature leads (in their relationship) true, but it has a complete different genre and tone as a romcom xD Still, a great drama and one of my all time faves. Need to rewatch it soon as a pick me up (and also for kim min jae being such a riot in it, hehe)

Title May I Help You Spoiler
Happy end?
Yes, for the leads it is, they stay together and FL's ability is explained at the end too. No break up either. Given the events in the last episode(s), it is a bit bittersweet, maybe, but it suits the tone/themes of this drama, which is a lot like "Move To Heaven" "Tomorrow" and "Mystic Pop Up Bar."

Title Call It Love
Any dramas that have understanding main leads like in this one?? They are both very kind and considerate of each…
May I Help You. Probably the most emotionally intelligent leads in a drama I have seen and this despite all the trauma/unprocessed grief and guilt ML is burdened with (which could let you be at odds with his reactions borne out of it at times perhaps, so it definitely requires at least *some* empathy from the viewer's side too for him.) They always tackle their issues head on (aka in the same eps) and talk about everything with great empathy and care for each other like the grown ass, mature people they are. If mistakes are made, according apologies follow and the other reacts and remains understanding and empathic instead to blow up. There is no breakup either after they get together, tho the romance takes a backseat to the plot toward the ending episodes. They are supportive and care for each other all the way through tho and help each other move on/past their inner demons, so to speak. Underneath a perky romcom facade, it is a story about loss, grief and death, guilt/trauma, and how to live with the hole in your life a lost loved one left there. So mentally prepare yourself accordingly lol.

Also, A Piece Of Your Mind. This is a more odd one for me, due to how the AI is used (as plot device) requires a lot of suspension of belief and due to some very frustrating decisions of FL toward the end. Nevertheless they support each other and discuss everything in a calm and empathic manner. Also warm hugs. So many warm healing hugs between them, aww. They are cute as heck together and both put in the effort to make it work between them, all issues in spite. It is equally slow as CIL with its story and has a similar somber feel, so it does needs some patience to get into, so to speak. Very much worth it tho. Similar themes like MIHY. Grief and (how to) moving on/healing are the main parts of the plot.

I am only at eps 7 rn but oh boooooiiii i have a lot of feelings about ML. I think labeling him as a jerk and rude is too easy and people doing so don't understand where Jisoo is coming from. Which is puzzling as the drama actually does a good job in establishing and explaining it even in the early episodes (like the therapist character is there for a reason) There are several layers of trauma, childhood neglect/toxic parenting coming together to a mental health/sense of self killing mix. Like basically his whole life is a 24/7 suffocating scripted reality show for the public. He is living in a human zoo actually, projecting a fake fully engineered and planned through celebrity image by a whole company. Nothing about him is authentic, because he was never allowed to develop a self, to act according to and express his wishes, thoughts or feelings. He was forced to suppress them since childhood. Now he has reached the point where he does not know what to even do when there is no script dictated to him, which shows perfectly in his panic when he finds out that the radio show is a live instead of recorded.

Plus that traumatic childhood experience left him withdrawn and unable to connect to people, he has no friends or people he can confine in. He has no support system whatsoever, just people around him telling him what to do, to think and how to act. (Like the reason why he has no phone is him having no one to talk to or call, which is very depressing.) So in situations where he is with others without script he is INCREDIBLY and i cannot stress this enough INCREDIBLY socially awkward to the point of anxiety. Hence in situations where he seems rude to the FL and to the viewer he just does not know how to handle these social interactions (so they are deemed handled well), because he has never learned how in the first place, Adding to that is that he has, as the drama spells out for you, extreme fear of being rejected should he ever show his true self buried underneath layers and layers of learnt picture-perfectness. So, he just... don't and shuts down, keeps his callous mask intact 24/7 or at least he tries to. Ofc there would be no story if there wouldn't be circumstances and people challenging and changing his behavior, let it develop beyond that. There is FL of course and while he keeps stoic with little to no facial expressions i love how the actor is so expressive with his eyes. Omg, i swear it is an art in itself to express so many emotions with his gaze alone and i love when an actor is capable of that. He definitely feels a lot while pretending not to, a true soft boi underneath all the layers heh. He is an introvert that observes a lot to file it away for later.

He is also definitely a tsundere tho, so accustomed to conceal don't feel that his first reaction being caught emoting or swooning over FL is harsher words to cover up his own awkwardness. He is definitely lacking maturity which is also no surprise given his toxic, controlling upbringing with no possibility to develop beyond "the script." Which also shows in his jealousy scenes, but those are really more adorable than possessive or whatever the tag says about ML. Definitely something to grow out with later on tho, and his lack of social abilities do show in him saying what he thinks once he allows himself to, without any filter xD Again, more (socially) immature than truly rude/mean, a purposeful jerk. I really enjoy his character thus far, his antics are adorable, even if a lot of the drama is very cliche romcom. But sometimes you just need something light heh

Not to mention before all that she liked Dongjin A LOT as person already and was looking forward to meeting him…
Yeah i agree to that. Let's just hope it turns out well in the end. I don't want to deal with a sad ending when the leads have already suffered so much and that all due to their families :(

I kind of wished Haesung during the scene with her mom that before she told her the truth, she should've also…
Well i wish we had such scenes too, but that would require a maturity from HS that she has proven to direly lack during the whole drama.

oh boiiiii if this does not sum up episode 13 and 14, i don't know what does πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚
Yes, he finds out because she tells him everything. Everyone here says he handled it well with staying so calm, and I don't disagree, but in truth he just has a delayed reaction to all the events. It all only really hit him once he is on his way back to the fair. And so he ends breaking down in silent sobs in his car. This scene (so well acted by KWK too) really broke my heart 😭😭😭

I get Mom not wanting her daughter to be with the son of the woman who ruined her family, it's understandably…
Not to mention before all that she liked Dongjin A LOT as person already and was looking forward to meeting him again and in her words "get closer to him". And she cooked a weeks worth of food for him too, which is the korean expression for (a mother's) care.

I get that his family bg is a very harsh pill to swallow, but that does not make him any less the person she got to know and, as said, liked. He is simply unfairly punished due to who his mother is,

good to see that the comments show how it was a good idea for me to submit the "dysfunctional family" tag πŸ˜‚ (especially after today's episodes)

I think i missed something . Was there a time lapse from 2019 to 2022? Like do they meet after 3 yrs?
Timejump? Nah. I guess that scene can be misunderstood, but it actually served only to signify that the fair they have worked for the whole drama basically is now over. Hence they put the poster on the wall as reminder of their achievement, for which they had to remove an older one, obviously. ;)

Omg, thanks for explaining that, I didn’t know that what WJ thought means
it is my interpretation of it, but given her own devotion to her family i am almost 95% sure she misunderstood DJ's sentence about his mother as positive. Meaning that him saying his mother is his weakness is someone he wants to protect instead of her being the absolute life-wrecking monster he actually meant with saying that (and his constant fear to be seen just like her, of course)

Okay what hit me like a brick in episode 14 was the juxtapose between the scene where Dongjin told his mother he has never been happy in his life because of her (and this toxic garbage waste of a human brushing it off as always) and the scene where Woojoo called her mom and asked to give up on the possibility to get the house back, because she mistook DJ's sentence of how his mother is his weakness as him caring for her. Thus she does not want to hurt him any further with going against his "mother" and give up on it so he can be happy. (Like....she WANTS him to be happy so much that she calls her mother to ask the impossible.)

Just... the contrast. THE CONTRAST between the scenes... man i am....😭 😭 😭
