Why is it that when everyone likes a drama the people that hate it all come in droves near the end? Always makes…
When i read those comments of "why are the leads always so sullen? They should lighten up etc etc " I think the only way those ppl got so far into this clearly labeled melodrama is with the "okay, one more episode and this will certainly turn into a romcom" attitude lmao. Because otherwise it is all very ?????? tbh π
Hi I'm sorry but where can I watch with subs already?
Oh i understood enough to follow everything that has been said/happened haha, but i gonna rewatch with subs to fill in the blanks/for context ;) (the drama uses pretty simple conversational korean fortunately and they didn't talk too fast, which helped. Sageuk and co are a whole other beast here tho xD)
Hi I'm sorry but where can I watch with subs already?
i did watch it without subs (also to see how much i understand after a year of korean learning heh,) sorry. I guess viki will have it online tomorrow, this is where i usually watch it (with vikipass)
minus the ML's mom. She can come too. I swear she's the only normal one.
the kid (FL's niece) is cute too. The rest? You can throw into the garbage where they should live from now on as garbage people, making either joseon era grandma or fake ass "my love is conditional on your money" FL's mother their ruler there.
I am sorry but each time i hear"I want to watch a lighthearted drama, so i pick this one" i go: Oh my sweet summer child.
Because May I Help You is all but lighthearted. The comedic trailer is all a liiiiiiieeeee as is its perky romcom facade haha. This drama is build upon a sea of tears, death/loss, survivors guilt, and traumatized characters with some lighthearted moments in between. So brace/prepare yourself accordingly. It does have a lot of heart and care for its characters tho and its raw portrayal of grief in the latter episodes is one of the best and most viceral/real i have seen in a drama.
Iβm loving it so far but my only problem is that why does the fl I get in his plans. Sis let him do his revenge…
i do like how their plans keep on intertwining tho, like the woman she wants to help (and he not) is the wife of one of the men he wants to take revenge on, which obviously changed his mind. They gotta learn to communicate better tho, but i am sure they will get there as soon there is a foundation of trust established. His out of the park methods just make that difficult rn, lol. I love tho how Han Su is already whipped, but in full on denial/not aware of it yet xD
So, are you watching? This just now popped up on my Viki subscription as a "possible" watch for me and I'm a sucker…
I do, but i may start skipping the more annoying parts like the joseon era grandmother and such. U gotta keep in mind that it is very soap opera like with its plots, and the sets and acting are not on par with your more polished weekly/standard-length kdrama. It has an old feel to it although the topics of single mothers and pregnancy or abortion and its conflict are quite recent. (SK is sadly quite backwards with a lot of social issues still tho and it shows)
The leads are your typical at odds pair who bicker more than talk, but now they are slowly settling down into a more comfortable dynamic with first attraction shining through. We have yet to reach the contract marriage part but i feel we are now getting there with this week's episodes setting it up. And i mainly watch for them and how they are going to handle the fake married situation with a kid (from her ex) on the way, lol. Lots of frustrating characters otherwise , so a twitchy ffw finger is recommended in general haha.
i would have preferred to have for once a king, even a young one as here, who is capable and has a firm grasp…
i actually can't recall a single one of the many i have watched, lol. It has always been a power struggle with evil/corrupt ministers, or, like in the secret romantic guesthouse for example, the quest to find the rightful heir and dethrone a tyrant with the good minister(tm) orchestrating that in secret.
So it is totally a sageuk staple. Like the cliff of (very survivable) doom π
i'm seeing many of yall saying fl's character is annoying and smh want to connect that to bona i just wanted to…
Yep. MDL comment sections be like:
ML: *being the biggest asshole, who craps on ppl's tables* Aww, i love him. He is the best. FL: *breathes* OH MY GOD SHE IS SO ANNOYING HOW DARE SHE BREATHE SO LOUDLY? WHAT A WITCH. BUUUUUURN
...without fail each time. It is like the most annoying, hypocritical clockwork, lmao.
People who doesn't watch joseon drama is the one giving bad reviews here. if you had lived long enough to witness…
i would have preferred to have for once a king, even a young one as here, who is capable and has a firm grasp on his reign w/o the usual evil minister harboring all the power instead. And his uncontested rule then in effect being the reason why the princess has more freedom, outside the palace. That would have been novel and better, especially since this is a fusion sageuk and thus the writers have more leeway regarding rules/worldbuilding. But alas, we are doing the usual sageuk powerless king thing once more like in too many sageuk's by now.
He is still very young i get it and the drama wants to show he has yet to grow into the role as a ruler. But he must have been under tutelage for more than half of his life of that as CP to prepare for the case of the king's death. And to use it to establish your connections etc. Hence him being like a deer in the headlight and so completely at a loss is a bit... silly/unbelievable. I kinda have the urge to poke him with a stick and be like "DO SOMETHING." π
