About DJβs ability to communicate with the death, I think, it could be that she was born right when her mom…
πππ
That is a very good point actually and I think you are on to something here. I can't wait to get to know more about this plot point and her story in general π
Iβm so glad they get rid of the ex girlfriend sub plot but at the same time I feel like they wrapped it up too…
The sad gurl hopefully takes a long vacation on jeju Island now. I Narratively seen you had a build up of her arc from eps 6-7 onwards which reached its climax at the end of episode 9, and started to be resolved in episode 10. Resolution for a side character like her is actually short(er) in a story arc and you got all the purpose/story out of the character that was possible. (mirror for TH's trauma/guilt, her mommy issues, her being stuck in the past but now starting to move on) I liked the resolution with her actually. It felt final and freeing for her. It was a goodbye to her mother('s influence) and Taehee alike.
Tho I bet we are going to see here again in the last two episodes if briefly to show us viewers that she indeed is on the long way of healing herself. Her doctor colleague also has long since making googly eyes at her so maybe we see something of that still. Imo though, before any new relationship she has first to learn to love herself and take responsibility for her own emotional wellbeing instead of making it another persons/her partners sole responsibility.
She wasn't emotionally mature enough to be a good partner and support for Taehee back when he experienced his biggest life crisis. He has found the support, emotional validation, and stability HE needs in his life/in a relationship with Dongjoo now. Another reason why the both are way better suited for each other than Chungha and Taehee ever were. Here is hoping she learns from it to do better in her next relationship.
Are there breakups btw FL/ML? Trying to gauge if the writer falls into that trope trap, as she handles it so so…
Thank you. Ah, so it is just like in MIHY then. And the writer is writing wholesome and warm stories in general, bless. Good to know :) Dunno how far you watched MIHY but if want another wholesome romance from the same writer that progresses slowly but very naturally, give MIHY another go, maybe :D
I have a question. Should I watch the last ep now or wait for the next one? I donΒ΄t want to cry.
Eps 12 is quite heavy, but very important plotwise and in regards of character progression. Lots about grief and how a (TH's) family has to live with its eternal effects. And the helpless feeling you have when someone you love is grieving. Up to you if you want to watch it now bc the client's story is quite tragic too. There are still hopeful, light moments throughout but way less than in eps 11
There is nothing scary about this drama, except how underrated and overlooked it is by the majority of people, lol. It is warm, wholesome, with good organic character development and storytelling. Sure, given its subject matter MIHY is sad at times but never depressing and miserable. (Very realistic/good portrayal of grief and its effects on people too.) The dark is always interspersed with light and a lot of heart, humor and warm vibes. And it has one of the most healthy, affectionate/loving and supportive portrayal of the leads' relationship I have ever seen in a kdramaπ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ί
Here is hoping that it is about DJ's backstory hehe. I feel the first seeds were already planted in this to get deeper into DJ's ability around eps 14 or so. Because for the first time we had some drastic rules applied to it, aka it refused to work because the person sinned with taking two lives. (not a fan of the suicide is a sin narrative, but yeah) I still wonder why uncle Michael calls her Stella in these situations. What is it with this name? (means star, but i did not find a deeper meaning with google) really want to know that heh. Also perhaps her mom has send some celestial aid or something idk. Like you i really want to see more of DJ and her side of the story and them getting a break after the plot resolution in general. TH excels in adoring the ground she walks on, so he should just do more of that again, haha. Maybe a getaway for the two of them or so idk. I do wonder about the last three clients, because i am skeptical with this new rule that HA's brother would get that blessing of a last wish. Actually... come to think of it, i don't care overly much who it is as long the last client or any client is NOT DJ's father, uncle or anyone from TH's family, really. They have all suffered enough already, let them be writer nim :( Tho i fear she will suckerpunch us a final time with that last client, welp
I actually struggle to see TH working as a doctor again, since this hospital is probably will always be quite triggering as working place. As it is there where his brother died and where he failed to save him. Maybe, maybe down the line with a timejump of a few years and the drama showing Donghee's married life that he would have returned then. Maybe. We will see, but i actually expect a "timeskip" happy ending, as for some reason (probably practicality) they rarely show a full-fledged wedding. Oh well, i take what i can get with these two xD Before that tho i want more of TH family time involving DJ heh, and TH keeping his promise to drink with his adorable future in law dad, before winter comes (why does it sound so dead-flaggy, i am scared) :(
Hangul Day π Guess DJ likes her mother language so much....JK ππππππππ
Heh, no to little idea how funeral work in SK aka the technicalities of it. But he was admitted a day later than that, yeah. I think writer nim did let DJ take his actual death date for poignancy/impact, and maybe she would even know that due to the documents. idk, It is a nice touch either way, so i can handwave a little inconsistency here ;)
This is wholesome drama.. so much love b/w ml & fl...fl & her's friends....fl family..ml family awesome....those…
Are there breakups btw FL/ML? Trying to gauge if the writer falls into that trope trap, as she handles it so so well in her newest work so far (aka none of that bs in the currently airing "May I Help You". Plus it has the/one of the healthiest relationships between leads in kdramaland) Since i adore that drama so much i finally want to watch her first work in honest now, heh.
- emphasized how he wants to be happy with DJ and held her hand the whole time. Distracted her to give her a peck…
That too, because story beats are best served when it is a mixture of flavors. Aka no one wants to sour only, mix in some sweet, then some salt and a hint of bitterness to make it a well-rounded flavored narrative. Here sour/salt followed sweet and it balanced each other out nicely. We are getting back to more sweet things as soon the bitterness/salt is resolved haha, because this drama is excellent in balancing its flavors, to stay within this allegory ;)
Also it was used to show how affectionate and attentive Taehee is toward the person he loves. It was just that he held back any emotions the past two years due to trauma. Once he freed himself from these shackles and allowed himself to feel and to love, there was nothing stopping him from showering Dongjoo with love. After all, he had so much to catch up on :D Best boyfriend and such a green green ML flag.
i have so many thoughts about the last episode/two episodes and how the steady build up of its plot now all comes…
Also if you enjoy this drama, please please PLEASE remember to rate each episode separately with a high rating so we can get its rating up. And, if you have enough contributions points, don't forget to vote on its tags as well.
Maaaaaybe, but also, as we learned today, "sinners" cannot be given "Stella's" (what is behind this name, why stella btw? ) gift. And seeing how he was DUI and killed a child i highly doubt he will be granted a last wish. We will see tho ;)
Pls spoiler tag this, thanks :D Also agree i would hurl the ring into the han river tbh haha
My rule of thumb for checking the spoiler box underneath is, whether or not it gives away keypoints of the story for innocent onlooker stumbling into this comment section. Which yours did, hence my request, but no need to apologize, really <3
Hangul Day π Guess DJ likes her mother language so much....JK ππππππππ
The Baek/Kim household will never celebrate Hangul Day, ever, due to thatπ (why yes, i already regard them as #married, thanks for asking haha)
But fr, this hit me by surprise, and hard. The drama interweaves its narrative from seemingly meaningless, little things to something way bigger and a whole picture, so so well (to hit you over the head with its omg/aha effect.)
Also it shows that DJ bears deep regrets about it all for her to remember the date (and later on in her conversation with her uncle, of course) I am not crying, you are crying.π
