Sad ending?
Haven't finished it yet but it has a happy ending from what i gathered.

At least he finally received some true words of appreciation from his boss. My man really needed to hear that…
ikr? About time too, because they were borderline assholes to him before at times. And this just because this introverted dork liked his home more than their company. I can so relate with him on that because it is too peoplely outside 🤣

Is this week canceled?
yeah this one, cheer up and may i help you are postponed a week, while other kdramas are unaffected. I guess it is dependent on their subject matter and if the airing slot is needed to be freed for news updates regarding the itawon tragedy

I decided to start the drama and within the first four minutes I see a clock counting backwards with the show…
we don't know yet actually, because until now it is still messy between the two and the leads are quite far away from becoming a couple still. So i guess only the crew and actors involved know how it will end at this point.

The overall plot/writing execution may be a dumpster fire but SangHo never not crack me up and make me squeal, since for me they are one of the most funny and wholesome kdrama couples of this year. And thus for them alone it is worth enduring/ffw the annoying parts of the drama. Not Jiho having panic in his eyes and picturing his kitchen being utterly destroyed when Sangeun tells him she is going to cook for him three times a day. Gosh i love these dorks so much 😂🤣

I don't care and I really don't feel bad for Hae-jin he has done to much to get a redemption arc at the end.
Yeah it is basically just fixing at the very end and way too late what he broke in the first place. I somewhat hope he finds a way to get help and be happy in the end, but far away from SangHo please. And do your redemption/healing arc off screen because i really don't care outside of distantly wishing him well.

Worst kdrama? In the year where woori the virgin was released? Nah, not by far.

I do wonder if there aren't any elements you enjoy any more why you waste your time instead to drop it? Like it is your choice and time to waste ofc, but if you think this way you are better off watching kdrama you actually enjoy instead to check the completed box on this drama at all cost.

Ep 13 was excellent - it was funny, sweet, romantic, and had major plot development. That being said I find it…
lilili (did i spell that correctly? So hard to read lmao) said it perfectly. As with everything Jiho, his development is more subtle and also further progressed already then HJ's is. Because Jiho had put in the work for betterment long before dating SE for real instead to rely on her and "love fixing all" only. (unlike HJ) Jiho recognized his problems and sought out professional help for it, which is the correct way to go about this.

It is just that Sangeun's love and support additionally gave him the confidence boost needed and it also helped that he found people he could trust within his place of work, of course. So he could open up to them more, bit by bit. As introvert he will always be choosy when to socialize and when rather to stay home with wifey, but that is completely normal and valid. What changed is, and this is big if understated by the plot that he has now people who care about him outside of work and outside of Sangeun. Kind of a found family thing which is all the more great, because he never thought himself worth of being loved by others after how his aunt (actual family) and his ex treated him (one he thought as his family) and became closed off to everyone as result. Until Sangeun came along, that was.

She offers a marriage service to men who want to stay single but appear married to their families so that they…
i mean, she spells it out when meeting Miho in the first episode or so, that "she is using her talents she taught her well." Meaning her marriage/single life helper service. I swear some people just don't pay attention to whatever happens on the screen and i say this as someone who skips several annoying parts of this drama, yet i was able to gather that motivation from her which further cements through the flashbacks we are shown throughout btw, lol.

the writing of his character is just as lacking in depth as are all the characters. Male leads sudden recovery…
Lol, you portray it like Jiho has magically changed into an extrovert party tiger all the sudden when that is NOT the case. He is still socially awkward and blunt and all these things like before. However, there is a definite arc of development with ML. From the get go he is always shown as wanting to improve himself and sought counseling for his issues, so that is something he has been working on for probably quite a while now. His feelings for and company with FL basically just positively influenced him further "to be more social" also in order to be able to be there for her and because his job required it too.

I see him more as an introvert who is choosy with his social interactions because it is draining, and prefers his home and quietness over socializing and going out for drinks. But once comfortable with a few selected people (aka his coworkers) he can and will socialize with them (for a limited amount of time) The way he is stepping up now is also due to his wish to protect Sangeun and has nothing to do with being socially awkward or not. Is him being a good, dependable and caring significant other and husband, which he has always been (as shown with flashbacks with his ex who wrecked his self-confidence/worth w/ treating him like shit)

Does FL really "work" as "fake' partner or wife? Or is there something more about it? I know koreans really love…
She offers a marriage service to men who want to stay single but appear married to their families so that they are left alone and not pressured to marry any longer. Hence she does not marry them for real (aka never registers the marriage) but does the ceremony and such to appear married to the man's family who don't know about the contract between her and him, of course. A bit later on, they split up "divorce" etc and their contract ends as they part ways. ML Jiho is the exception as client though, as she has married him for real (registered marriage and all) which she had done a dozen times before but not since marrying Jiho five years ago. Since obviously she can only be legally married to one parson at a time, so yeah. They kinda share a special bond from the get go and are a comfort for each other, even if they never talk at their scheduled dinner dates 3x the week. FL has a crush on him as it turns out and is hesitant to end the contract despite her planning to go abroad. This plan falls through tho and thus their contract continues from which their story (and his feelings further) develops with a lot of complications, of course. SML being the most annoying one.

The motivation why she does it is due to her being basically child trafficked as she was plucked from an orphanage to be adopted and trained to become the perfect wife for a conglomerate families' son. She rebelled at the meeting many years later, and since then uses her talents as "perfect wife" and years of training of several abilities to earn a lot of money to spite them for using her like this. So yeah very different to Because This Is.... hahaha

i love the drama so far, but i have the urge to send ALL the characters off to therapy counseling for several years, geez.

I have doubts, if they really release the episodes this week, when May I Help You won't and it airs on MBC, too.
I think May I help You is also postponed due to the subject matter of the drama (funerals, death, grief) and its supernatural elements (people come back to life briefly to see their wish fulfilled) that feels a bit tactless with the recent tragic event

Someone please help me I'm so much confused which drama i should watch may i help you or cheer up someone please…
Why not both? Given new episodes have been understandably postponed for a week due to the Itawon tragedy, you have time to catch up on both of them two hehe.

i was wondering about the same thing. Since it's national mourning period some dramas were cancelled
i think it depends on the network they are on and if they have major news shows that has the obligation to keep the public up to date, so to speak. TVN the network of LIC is a private one afaik and thus doesn't have the same obligation. The dramas that got cancelled this week was in order to make room for "breaking news" and updates regarding the itawon tragedy

Title Curtain Call Spoiler
that would explain why it looks like being filmed on a 2008 camcorder, lmao. I already thought viki's hd feature…
She remarried after a while afaik, hence why her son was so upset with her at the reunion
On Love Is for Suckers Nov 1, 2022
Thanks for whoever sets the episode clock now being correct, bc as said before here, there won't be any new episodes this week due to the itawon crowd crush tragedy.
On Love in Contract Nov 1, 2022
It seems this week's episodes are airing as scheduled? Guess it is due to tvn not having a news prog but we will see.

I can’t even get through half of Ep. 11 without getting so annoyed at KHJ, the ex-wife, and toxic villain Madam…
Just skip these stupid parts, there are better ones in there and especially in episode 12, but you can need a trigger happy finger on the ffw button for this drama in general to enjoy it lmao
