Yeah I like my dramas this way aka as a well-balanced genre mix instead of romance or another genre only. Much more interesting this way to get the full package instead of just one thing only. 👀

hard same and i think this is where my disappointment with the writing choice stems from. I kinda remember you said you don't seek out romance dramas, but I can rec Crazy Love, Dali And The Cocky Prince and From Now On Showtime as examples with couples with healthy, good communication and no breakup/fakeout breakup. (Dali even parodies the break up trope and i love the show for it xD) Those dramas have romance like EAW included in a wider plot instead of being the sole focus :) In general i prefer dramas where leads solve their issues and conflicts together and head on instead to split and let their problems linger like a festering wound.... only to then magically get back together with nothing solved and call it a happy ending, ugh.
Planning to watch Run On next as i have heard good things about the main's relationship, so wish me luck that the writer omitted the breakup trope for once, haha.
Until Episode 12 it's a fantastic watch, except for the horrible mother of the FL that wants to get rid of her…
Imo, just because the last two episodes were quite the dip in writing/plot doesn't invalidate the drama's overall quality and enjoyment of watching it. I bank all on a satisfactory ending now, so tis only when they are butchering it that i would not recommend to watch. Otherwise/so far it is well-worth your time.
Still love it but I'm really, REALLY meh/exasperated about the latest writing decisions (yes, all big three of…
yes, for five whole minutes of runtime, heh. (I checked after the EAW thing) Then the FL set ML straight to rid him of his stupid noble idiocy, they hugged and the whole thing was solved. Instead of a true breakup it was there used to mirror scenes between their current/past lives. (him withdrawing in order to protect her, and she following and not letting him.) I really appreciated the drama's penchant to solve the leads' conflicts head on instead to draw them out over several eps for angst's sake. Sadly this is still a rare occurrence in kdramaland.
So yeah, if it has to be included at all (since no kdrama writer seems to be immune to this shittrope for some goddamn reason), i prefer it to be handled like this and solved quickly through mutual communication. I am aware that it is harder to do in EAW with YW on the spectrum, but i am nevertheless left with the feeling that it could have been handled in a better way without resorting to a full breakup/one that is drawn out over several episodes.
No matter what sentiments other commenters felt...for me this is my favourite 2022 drama and considered this as…
Still love it but I'm really, REALLY meh/exasperated about the latest writing decisions (yes, all big three of them. ) So 'From Now On Showtime' gets the spot of most fave kdrama of 2022 from me, since it never disappointed me once with its story or writing during airing. Or in general heh. Which tbh is a feat I have yet to see other kdramas of this year repeating. EAW fell flat on its face here right before the home stretch, alas.
You can keep track of that in the advanced tab of a kdrama in your watchlist (no matter which) since there is…
No prob. It is, admittedly a pretty hidden one if you don't bother with clicking things in the individual kdrama menu after hitting that "edit" button on your watchlist. Very useful too, tho :D
Finally watching this one! It's been on my list since it got released. I liked the first episode. This comment…
You can keep track of that in the advanced tab of a kdrama in your watchlist (no matter which) since there is a starting date and finishing date category. I always use this when starting/finishing a drama to know when i watched it :)
Yea, I hate break-up tropes enough as it is, but especially where the couple can't even communicate properly the…
Saaaame. It really pissed me off that even tho she is well aware of the reason why she wanna break up/not date, since she discussed it with her dad... she said nothing to JH about it and leaves him guessing as to why. Feels like a forced way to only prolong the conflict into the end eps.
Depends on one’s definition of a happy ending. Because if MW And SY end up together,. That’s not a good ending…
Yeah, the how the story get to the ending and what it includes matters a lot too, of course. Just keeping up this thin thread of hope that it will be solved in a satisfactory manner, tho today's episode definitely put a damper on that notion, ngl. We will see tho.
I have put it on hold for now since i am tired of watching long post breakup shots of characters being sad with somber music put under it. It is just exasperating me at this point.
Oh same. And it really robbed me of all motivation to watch today's episode ngl. Maybe I should wait till next…
Yeah i am gonna put it on hold for now and depending on how it is solved i may have to lower my rating after all. Took a hit on my liking of the main couple too due to their lack of communication all the sudden bc the plot says so, or something.
Reminds me that my other fave kdrama this year (From Now On Showtime) also had some noble idiocy, but it was solved in like 5 minutes tops as FL set ML straight/refused to budge when he told her "how she would have an easier life w/o him", lmao. Definitely prefer that approach, IF it has to be included at all.

Purely so I can speedrun the obligatory sob scenes of kdrama breakupâ„¢ with long, lingering shots of characters looking saaaaaaad, since at this point they only make me exasperated instead of sad/empathic, ugh. (Like, suddenly there is zero communication between them when they had been so good in that before? Get out of here)
Not me reading the spoilers on twitter like it's some live sports coverage...
Oh same. And it really robbed me of all motivation to watch today's episode ngl. Maybe I should wait till next week to watch them/the ending eps all back to back because uuuuuuuugh
fukk i'm scared to watch the new episode after seeing the comments..💀
If you haven't watched it yet, wait until tomorrow's episode is released to watch it back to back. Since it is another two episode arc and today's episode ends on a (frustrating) cliffhanger 😒
