Generally, I agree that many dramas don't need romance, not just Korean ones. As for this drama - with all due…
Exactly. And it is important for the drama to show this, given the persisting and damaging stereotype of how ppl on the spectrum are emotionless robots and feel no love. Ugh.
Unless it is a viu original like "From Now On Showtime" was, for example, where we got the new episode fully subbed…
Right? They deserve much more than a free viki subscription for all their work.
I would not mind watching it without subs at first either, tho all the kiddies in the time comments would complain endlessly then and also review bombing it for missing subs. Bc ppl are stupid and impatient. So probably better they don't do this anymore haha
I know Viki subbers are working hard on translation but I’m a bit bummed 😑
Unless it is a viu original like "From Now On Showtime" was, for example, where we got the new episode fully subbed one hour max after airing, you can always expect to watch airing viki drama episodes a day later. Which is still fast af, seeing how much dialogue there is in just a single eps and hence how much work it is for the unpaid subbers.
This is not meant to be shade thrown into your direction, mind, but it bears repeating that the subbers are not professionals and only get a measly free viki pass for all their workload and free time sacrificed each time. Viki is selling that as a fun experience where you can win prizes if your tier is high enough, or some other nonsense, but i actually wish they would PAY the people who are the backbone of their streaming service instead, tbh. Oh well.
I take it this is your first kim min jae drama then? Try watching him in "Dali And The Cocky Prince" (best kdrama romcom; hands down), "do you like brahms" or the"Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency" and then come back to this with new-found appreciation for KMJ. Since he is an expressive, excellent actor and easy on the eyes too. He is actually the reason why i am picking this drama up, so i can't relate, lmao.
exactly it's outside palace the ML and FL character r unique as a genuine doctor and widow I don't think we see…
Oh that is valid. I am a bit tired of old corrupt officials scheming in the palace too atm, skipped a lot of these parts when watching Secret Royal Inspector xD
If you come back to it whenever you do tho, you cannot go wrong with Mr. Queen. Tis one of the few dramas that are deservedly as high rated as it is on MDL, imo.
There is korean tweet that explains the metaphor of revolving door and junho. https://twitter.com/azucen29/status/1552654080018829315?t=21ZZwlH5MS7_iDl_53rwbQ&s=19It…
Yeah, character development. It is again, as with everything Junho, not overt but yet very noticable. Like we have a nice contrast here from episode 3 to 10 where he told them they are on a date and introduced youngwoo to his friends instead of saying nothing at all as the female friend assumed wrongly about YW. Same with the whole scene where minwoo was a dick about YW on the phone, Junho was angry and passive aggressive, but avoided to call him out on the issue directly. Whereas now we saw JH fight his friend in the bar, hands on and furious, calling him out and daring him to talk shit about the woman he loves again. From passivity to action, such nice character progress. Love to see it.
And I bet they will clash, when MW finds out they are dating (since it is so unthinkable to him seeing her as a person deserving of romantic love) and Junho flipping his shit when he finds out that minwoo is all in his gf's business/trying to harm her professionally. Gonna be... interesting and with interesting i mean i hope minwoo getting his ass whooped two times by him, lmao.

Try Mr. Queen then. While it has all the sageuk tropes, it does not take itself too seriously and acting is stellar from all cast, particularly the leads.
I actually like that the cases are not just sunshine and roses and end well each time. Makes it more realistic tbh, but yeah it was a difficult one in eps 10.
Well this show had such a great start but now has turned into a pretty regular one where three brilliant guy tussling…
Yeah, and was so hyped up for the kiss, but we got a dead eyed fish press to lips one only, lmao. Imo, by now, this is a drama best watched on 1,5-2,0 speed as it really has started to draaaaaaag and i am feeling bored with it. Tho since there are only three more weeks to go, i don't want to drop the show either, but i don't think i will pick up the second part when the first part has already not enough plot for 20 episodes tbh.
From my experience in court, as a lawyer, I gotta say this drama manages to catch the essence of the "court behavior"…
Oh nice, always love to hear the perspective of an IRL professional. So thanks for this <3
(What i also noticed they made the whole law part more digestible than in other shows.... there is still a lot of law jargon of course, but i find it easier to understand it all with how the cases in the episodes are structured. Also the whole court part is not dramatized or played over the top like in other dramas, which i appreciate)
Then don't watch it? Lol, don't know the purpose of your comment here tbh other than pointlessly complaining.…
Oh I'm sorry to hear about your inability to read. But you are not alone, there are a lot of adults who can't read either in the world. So it is never to late to start learning it, no matter how old you are. I believe it you! Fighting 💪
Unless you live under a rock, friend, you hardly can escape the whale couple/JungWoo atm, since there are clips etc on social media everywhere, lol. So that is kinda a superfluous question🤣
1. Tired of reincarnation love stories2. Tired of Kdrama showing their ML as the greatest man to ever live. I…
Then don't watch it? Lol, don't know the purpose of your comment here tbh other than pointlessly complaining. I know this drama deals with the first point, not so sure it contains the others, as i have just started watching it. Especially the third point is subjective, bc ppl are damn hypocrites that are quick to hate FLs when she behaves outside the narrow "nice, meek and pleasant all the time" stereotype applied for women, and never even give her the chance to see/wait for her character development. And that while ML can never do wrong in their eyes, no matter what he does, from the get go. Gendered double standard, plain and simple, ugh. (So yeah, i somewhat agree to the second point, but that is more the viewer who does it, not the drama, unless it is very stylized as in WWWSK, or something.) The female character(s) is/are always put under a especially critical lens and them being labeled as "annoying" nearly by default when they dare to behave in an "imperfect way" aka being loud, confident. cold/arrogant etc, hence all the attributes viewers applaud MLs for, or, god beware, dares to make mistakes/oversteps boundaries etc. THAT is what i am tired of and annoys me. So much.
But tangent aside, there are not really many reincarnation love stories in kdrama? A handful at most (Goblin, From Now On Showtime, LOTBS, Tale Of The Nine-Tailed, Mystic Pop Up Bar, and this one, from the top of my head) while the whole "met as children thus are destined to be" trope is way more pervasive and annoying tbh. Anyway, i am sure there are enough other dramas to your liking then.
WYW is not like that girl from the trial. Her mental age is of an adult and she has high IQ. She may not even…
It will be a formal introduction of himself much more than asking for permission to date young woo, because while parental approval is important in Korea in general, I think asking for permission is really outdated and taking away her own agency. She ain't a goat to sell after all but a person who can decide that for herself lol.
