What's the romance like? Is it between leads or second leads?
It makes my heart burst with sunshine. It is the cutest shit ever. (I don't doubt it will become more complex than that as well in the remaining episodes since it deals with a neurotypical/neurodiverse relationship with all its ups and downs that entails... but it is very light/fluffy/feel good and respectfully done thus far. Junho (ML) is such a green flag <3 )
On Extraordinary Attorney Woo Jul 27, 2022
JungWoo (aka the couple, *not* Youngwoo) makes my heart burst with sunshine. Like the way she tries to show him she likes him without actually saying it (doing nice things for him as advised by her bestie) is the cutest shit ever and i am not even halfway thru the episode tbhπŸ₯ΊπŸ˜πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜πŸ₯ΊπŸ˜

I think this drama is still watchable. The fashion is not bad. It has all the tropes of k drama. Comedy, romance,…
Oh thank you for your explanation. I honestly expect aaaaaaall the tropes, particularly because it is a rather old-school kdrama haha. But good to know that it seems still worth the time investment heh. I have put it on my watchlist on viki for now and will give it a try as soon i worked my way thru my current batch of kdrama 🀭 Thanks again <3

the grandmother turned out to be not their grandmother ,, they didn't elaborate on her story
I feel they explained enough why she stuck around instead to live with her son tho?

No time skip but they broke up about four times LOL but got together at the end
Thank you, but tis just the truth, haha. Like it must have been a mindfuck to find out what happened and how her family is entangled in it, so i don't blame GH for taking and needing a timeout. It was no mandatory kdrama breakup to create drama it was a breakup due to the valid plot circumstances... unlike in 95% of the kdramas where they force a breakup for nonsensical crap reasons.

I loved the drama for its slow, throughout examination of trauma and what it does to people and how differently they deal with it. A lot, if not all was themed under violence against women/girls by men in its varied form, aka murder, stalking, domestic violence and so on. I am glad it was not used as cheap plot device for shock value but its effect on people was put front and center to the plot and taken seriously. Also how doing nothing can make you just as much a culprit which showed in the police trying to sweep the cases under the rug as quickly as possibly and were rightfully not being trusted by FL's fam, or the one asshole who refused to help a literal child asking for his help and left her behind (may he buuuuurn in hell srsly not even the psycho murderer made me THIS angry)

I liked all the characters (minus shady townfolk) and their development, when Jin Goo cried i cried bc no other actor cries as heartwrenching and, well, beautifully, haha. I loved the acting of the leads in general they carried a lot of the quieter scenes and managed to make me feel for their characters. It was a very character focused instead of plot-heavy drama thus their believable acting helped me a lot to empathize with their story and ordeals lived. Never had a problem with the pacing tho, i feel it was needed to give the central theme of trauma and its effect enough breathing room. The girl who played his sister is already a terrific actress, gosh each time she was onscreen the waterworks kept coming, especially during the promise scene of course 😭😭😭

I really enjoyed how the drama not only examined trauma but also showed its part of closure, of healing and moving on as best as possible that is as important. "Some days you wake up and everything is off." Yeeees, loved that bit of dialogue at the end bc there are always bad days after trauma suffered, but i am glad that the characters learned to not get stuck in it and keep living instead of only surviving. That is the difference of GH and his mom between episode 1 and 16. One day at a time. Yay for the restaurant finally seeing its opening too xD Glad that the final episode was a much needed respite from all the prior heaviness and that the leads found together again. Their dating post Link was adorable and hilarious xD Tho i am not sure if i could ever forgive her mom if i were GH. Well, family gatherings will be definitely very awkward in the future, that is for sure, lmao. Sad it is over, but also very much ready for Kim Min Jae's new drama taking Link's airing spot next week. Rating: 9/10

Basically only one time for real and only for a short duration. The other time it was suggested but not followed thru. And they are the only couple in kdramaland with a valid reason to break up in order to figure things out due to their rather unique situation, imo

Not sure if this is my kind of drama, but i will give it a go since there are very few newly airing dramas in august that interest me.

Interesting that a drama that espouses acceptance and anti-discrimination is getting some of these comments...…
God so many bigoted ppl to block today. My blocklist is groooooowing like this comment section, i see.

I was also like *spiderman pointing meme* when i saw him. Haha, love to see the magic factory crew appearing in other shows πŸ₯°

Sooo, plannin to watch this, I guess. Is it worth starting now or should I just binge watch it when it’s all…
i am going to wait until it is released on my countries' netflix and by then it will have finished airing. This show sounds optimal to watch on 2x speed tbh and with optional skipping of parts. Hence why it is better watched when it is all out, imo.

As a bi woman i always have to suppress the urge to yell a snarky "People are bi/pan, Steven," at people when they label everything wlw as "lesbian" only. Like we exist and are not fucking unicorns from a fairy tale, lmao. So thank you for your inclusive language <3

i'm watching it rn for the first time (19/20ep) and i really like it! although at first all those "cool" scenes…
Given its age i can excuse a bit of cheesiness, but to name another older drama mdl loves is kill me, heal me, where you really noticed its age and the lvl of cringe was just too much to bear for me haha. Thanks i may have to bite the bullet and simply give it a try for a couple of episodes hehe

Yeeeeeah the story is definitely stretched out to 20+ episodes when tighter writing and less filler could have…
It is still a good watch... with one finger on the skip 10 seconds button applied liberally, mind. The story of a secret royal bastard (as in child out of wedlock) who goes out into the world to become strong/the strongest and fight evil is neither new nor original. The shifting souls has something of the trite ol' zombie movies as well. The villain(s) are downright caricatures of evil and i cannot take any of them seriously in the slightest.

And while i really enjoy ML's character and acting, same for mudeok and their dynamic, i have a disconnect with this fantasy drama i didn't have with Hotel Del Luna, Mystic Pop Up Bar or From Now On Showtime to name my faves in the genre as i actually love fantasy/supernatural dramas. But AoS just doesn't grip me emotionally and that is probably due to its lack of substance. A lot of the drama is so polished and flashy and cgi'ed it forgets what matters in a story is the heart and warmth the other named dramas possess in spades. It just leaves me cold and indifferent overall, tbh. And the stretching out of what little story there is over 20 episodes and more with lots of meaningless filler does not help here either.

Happy that it is very much watchable so far. After several heavier and emotionally taxing dramas watched, i needed something light and silly and this appears to fit the bill.

Someone WITHOUT nostalgia googles please tell me how this drama holds up in 2022? Since I always find myself hesitating to pick it up due to its age as i am much more used to kdramas of the recent years.
