That is fair. I for my part am still very much okay and satisfied with the ending, was the only logical one too. And this post explains well why that is:
THIS. all of this. this is exactly why i'm thankful for the slow pace of the drama because trauma this heavy just…
Yeeees, same here. I really appreciate how they took their time to examine the effects and different forms of trauma in this drama. And the slow pace was needed for that, as you said :)
Thank you, that was beautiful. I wish I could pin your comment right at the top of this page..
aww thank you, you are too kind. Had to counteract the "this drama dragged so much" comments here, because there is a reason why the pace is slow, and a good one at that. I really enjoyed watching it and i am glad i am not alone with that <3
Nothing slight about it lmao. That tag is more fitting for example for an idk, thriller drama with five minutes of romance stretched out over 16 episodes or so, but here in EAW it surely has become one of the bigger focuses of the story, even if it is not the main one.
This show is officially my favorite kdrama. It has beaten out Goblin and Crash Landing on You.
It is up there for sure on my list, as a more realistic balance to my other faves From Now On Showtime and Mr. Queen (and Dali And The Cocky Prince tbh)
I was also like *spiderman pointing meme* when i saw him. Haha, love to see the magic factory crew appearing in…
Yeeeees. I love EAW but FNOS has really stolen my heart this year and it will be an alltime fave of mine just like Mr. Queen is, tbh. Still sad it is over i had such a good time with it, but EAW definitely helps here. Hope to see the leads PHJ and JKJ in other dramas soon tho <3
I found out that she gave up playing violin in the end...
You are welcome :D And yeah it definitely helps to have a light funny drama to watch on the side for levity (i loved EW, so funny.) I guess i made the mistake to go into watching this drama after a couple of rather heavier ones already before it, so it really was a difficult watch at times for me. Didn't expect it to be this somber either, but if you know what you are getting yourself into here and still like it that is great. Hope you enjoy your time with it then :D
So hear you. Me too. Blew my mind. I have so many questions. Honestly, I'm not judging Asian parents, I simply…
Oh you are welcome. It had the same effect on me when i watched it, honestly. Always was aware that the school system in SK is highly competitive (and generally is in asian countries i guess), but had never thought it would be *this* extreme. So what EAW portrays sadly rang true, it seems.
Min Woo is still an ass, but at least he spurred Jungho into action with his matter of fact reasoning. Plus the scene where he gives himself a joke name for the kids and how he did it caught me off-guard. Didn't know he had it in him, lol. Attorney Jung is still the MVP tho and another green flag aboard the hanbada ship <3
Next episode, the case being related to a relationship between a normal and a disabled person (i'm sorry if i…
Psst, neurotypical/neurodiverse are better terms to use than normal and disabled (unless it is a physical disability), or NT and ND for short. Because "normal" is only just a program for the washing machine ;)
And yeah i am happy they touch (no pun intended) on that topic which is gonna be close to home for JungWoo,
Finally Jun Ho confessed... But how did he keep his calm for that long man when she confessed twice.. Her doing…
i had the feeling he was the "I am at my limit" meme for the duration of the episode, while also being continuously stunned speechless by WYW for the 4848548th time π€£
So hear you. Me too. Blew my mind. I have so many questions. Honestly, I'm not judging Asian parents, I simply…
Yep. While the kid here is 16, this docu highlights the whole gruesome SK school system. Veeeeery similar to what we saw in EAW, so no exaggeration was done for kdramaland :
I cant believe that such system was there in academies where they are forced to study till 10 pm i mean im glad…
It is a grueling, awful system and thus the comparison to imprisoned whales/dolphins made was pretty apt. This SK documentaries about it was quite frankly an eye-opener and almost everything in there is echoed in today's episode here:
I found out that she gave up playing violin in the end...
It depends on how high your tolerance for melodrama and misery is, bc imo the characters are almost 24/7 miserable in this drama and there is little to none levity in between. I loved it for the leads/actors bc all the other characters are bitter assholes to a varying degrees (especially SFL is one of the most annoying characters in a drama ever) but even the leads were testing my patience with their frustrating passivity more often than not. I am an introvert myself so i could relate a lot to their awkwardness and outright uncomfortableness in social situations, but the way they let people walk over them without ever speaking up was maddening and not relatable. Particularly since they acted more like inept teenagers than ppl almost in their thirties.
Their romance is cute with their adorkableness, but like everything in this drama very slow and not as pronounced as i would liked it to be and fueled with too many misunderstandings/assumption instead of clear communication to create conflicts. The spoiler you mentioned is actually the best outcome possible for her, in retrospect, since she was only miserable in the end (or rather even more lol) and found something better/more suiting for herself. PEB and KMJ really carried the drama and they were the reason i stuck around till the (very nice) ending albeit with a looooot of skipping.
Unless the guy also has a 'complex', i don't understand why he would fall for the main lead with autism from what…
The way you worded that makes me cringe, ngl. You make it sound as though a neurotypical person has to be either have a savior complex or something to love a ND person and not simply because they are worthy of being loved like everyone else. Yikes.
Besides the drama does not show the passing of time and all what seems a matter of days is actually weeks since the process of a case takes tiiiiime. It is mentioned one time in an eps that WYW already works for MONTHS at the law firm when it feels like days/a week or two to us at most. Thus a lot happens offscreen between Jungho and Youngwoo (aka their daily lunches... very well portrayed in today's how comfortable/casual they are by now during these, minus his jealousy of course π€£) Thing is the drama is not spelling out everything for you and you have to fill in the blanks in between since the romance is not the major focus. What IS shown however is very well portrayed by the leads, and again it requires you to pay attention to not only their words but body language and expressions as well, particularly with Jungho.
Also why has love has to have a complex reason? Sometimes you just meet someone and it clicks for you and everything happens from there, sometimes quite quickly too. Nothing wrong with that. Why do you need a 185 pages character essay to justify them liking someone? Kinda weird that this never is put into question or an issue in other dramas where the leads start liking each other the way ppl take offense with it in EAW. And with "weird" i mean suspicious, tbh.
