That actor plays the cutest little puppy of a man in Yumi's Cells (first season). He's adorable as the ML's sidekick!
Also it is always important to distinguish the actor from the character they are playing, since they are just literally doing their JOB. And given the reactions of people he did a good one too, or otherwise it would not be as believable.
9,2 is the highest MDL ever has gotten and that with a similar heartwarming show "move to heaven" so there is a real chance to topple that king. Sure there are some odd 9.5/10.0 shows out there but these are ones where like 2 ppl have rated it lol. I think reaching 9.5 is unlikely tho, but we will see, heh
It’s been a while since I watched…but if I recall well…it was somewhere at the end., but it doesn’t feel…
the question of when they get together is not as clear cut. Sure if you count the confession and them dating it is at the end of episode 13. Buuuut it is so very obvious much earlier what they think about and feel for through their dynamic and actions for each other even if the feelings remain unnamed for so long. They bring out the best in each other, support, understand and empathize with each other like no one could, especially Seulhae reading Chawoong like an open book. There is always that unspoken bond between them, right from the start as they were still bickering like a married couple haha. Hence why them officially dating is just the natural progression of their dynamic based on trust and friendship. While them dating may be late in the drama, they are cute af during it while never losing their chaotic energy too haha.
Okay, as said before i also hate minwoo but the real enemy of this episode was the frikkin infuriating fade to black screen in the whale couple scene (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻
"Disappointing" is... not good translation. "섭섭하다" means maybe between Disappointing and Sorry.
Yeah but sometimes/often with translation you don't go with the most literal meaning of the word, but the one that suits the situation best. Imo disappointing hits the mark here. Maybe "pity" would have been a better word here too, tho?
8,4 is not low. One of best entertaining drama in 2021 imo.
Cool. It is imo, very much worth the watch and deserves more love, especially if you like the supernatural/fantasy genre and/or dramas like mystic pop up bar and hotel del luna.
Another tip i have is stick around till the end of eps 6 (subplot with the dog) should it not click at first with the drama for you, since there you will get to know the leads' backstory (and their resolution, as the drama is good in not dragging out conflicts that arise, between them or otherwise.) It will give you a better picture and understanding of how and why the characters are how they are.

For your standards maybe. I think low ratings begins somewhere under 8.0, everything else is still very much watchable. Besides MDL ratings are not gospel nor ultimate truth. I have watched quite many highly rated dramas on MDL and found them mediocre and/or boring af or okay at best (kill me heal me, 18 again, Beyond Evil, Descendant Of The Sun, Our Blues, My Liberation Notes, 2521, AoS (both dramas are imo overhyped and just okay) Goblin... the list goes on) Hence i dislike most of the top 10 kdrama here on MDL or what people deem popular, while i had some of the greatest fun with dramas ranged in the mid-end 7 ratings or those that are generally overlooked by people.
Bottom line is in the end it always comes down to personal taste, so never trust MDL blindly. Always form your own opinion about a drama instead to rely only on what people say.
To your second question: Is this drama not good? It is. One of the best of this year, in my opinion, with a perfect mix out of mystery, comedy, supernatural and (slow burn) romance genres, lovable, quirky characters and a well executed, paced plot. And it has one of my now most favorite pairings in kdrama after mr. queen's royal couple, bc their dynamic and romance progression is just done so very well with a bonus high adorkable, chaotic energy through past and present. Simply Chaseul supremacy (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7SX-33ycQs
FNOS was just overlooked and sadly went mostly under everyones radar while people raved about Sh**ting Stars, MLN and the many other releases in April/May 2022. Look at the viewer numbers again and you will see that it is barely scratching 13k, which for a recently aired show of that genre (fantasy romcom, and from the mystic pop up bar writer to boot) is really low, which shows how overlooked it was and still is, alas.
It had an unfortunate timeslot too with strong competition the same day, and no support or promo from its network (Hell, 85% of the promo material came from Park Hae Jin's now former agency ffs) And unlike EAW, MLN or AoS also no netflix support either, which automatically gives a kdrama such a huuuuge popularity boost and better promo by default. Alas, this drama got nothing of it. It just got a little more known and beloved as time went on thru its quality, but that happened purely with word of mouth thru twitter and tiktok, not because MBC made any kind of effort to promote it. Hell even Scoompi, which is belonging to Viki where this drama exclusively streamed/streams omitted to write any promotional article for the drama for weeks on end and only deemed it necessary with the two final episodes.
Vui also only started to publish vids of scenes and actor interviews etc *after* the show was nearly done airing. They collectively failed to give the drama the spotlight it deserved and i feel sorry for the actors who did such a great job (Honestly, each of them is great in here) to see your work devalued/disregarded like that from the network's side. Not because the drama was or is bad, but because everyone around them was frikkin incompetent in terms of PR. The leads Park Hae Jin and Jin Ki Joo did their damnest to promote it on their own, but they could only do so much by themselves.
Tldr: The promo of this drama was a shitshow and it deserved so much better than it got.
Thank you friend. I am still super fatigued and my head aches, but all other symptoms have fortunately already subsided. Quarantine gives a me much more time for kdrama too lol. Looking forward to today's episode🐋
I quite enjoyed this drama and the characters, but young version annoys me more often than not. Like i get being impulsive when young or blab out details she should not have about people a couple times, but she never learns and always always repeats the same damn mistake like a hamster in a wheel. She is much more like a ten years old child without any impulse control than a 17 yrs old almost tween who should know at least a little better. Selfish too, which given the age i can overlook sometimes, but god, where all the other characters change and grow during the drama she remains the same damn brat that throws everyone in danger and trouble without a care in the world. Super grating. The casting however was stellar, both actresses looked like the spitting image of each other.
Love the message of self-acceptance and love tho, it was rather wholesome if you turn your brain off and do not think about how that timetravel or supernatural stuff worked. It got a little too stupid and cheesy at the end there for me and i normally love supernatural/fantasy things. Here it felt more like the writer didn't know how to bring young FL back to her timeline or why she was there in the first place.
ML was the star of the drama for me. Started out as immature and bratty like young version and had a wonderful development to taking responsibility and being a mature, caring guy. Overall a warmhearted, kind and cute ML, nothing of that usual toxic (masculinity) bs. FL/ML's romance was quite cute, but unlike in any romance drama there is zero skinship nor grand declarations of love. It is all based on an emotional level, of building trust, helping and caring for each other. It was a natural progression from strangers to friends to lovers, but most of it remains implied and not said. Their care for each other is shown through the characters actions, however.
Ohh are you watching for the first time? Have fun!! The leads are one of the highlights of this show, they're…
Yeah, picked it up on a whim, but seeing it is yet another zombie-ish flick with a bit of a twist to it it may be a slow watch. Will have enough time in between sleeping and during quarantine to finish it, however. The main leads are also the reason why i watch it, as i usually pass on zombie-ish dramas and movies.
Thank you, even fully vaccinated having covid is damn annoying, but hey, more time for kdrama watching, at least lol. At least i won't start biting people to drink their blood any time soon, lmao
I love Suyeon more with each episode tbh
Love how Suyeon becomes wingwoman instead of bitter rival here too.
