Nor would it have significance to my life now outside of an one-line of oh hey, we met as kids, cool right? one liner before i would move on with my life lol.

I don't mind the trope if it has significance for the character(s) story (like in mr. queen) or if the drama is build upon friends to lovers which explains their connection, but why tf does every drama throw it in as if it is a downright requirement for ML/FL to fall in love? Like i am aware dramaland is not reality but this is still not how it works and really annoying tbh, lol.

Why the fuck are you arguing with people living there and knowing their country on the continent way better than you ever could, when you would spend your time much better in sitting down, listening and learning instead? Your generalized outside perception does not trump their lived experience, ffs. And it is not about that these problems you bring up again and again as a gotcha do not exist (do you have any idea how freakin large the continent is even?) but that is ALL that is portrayed in media which IS an insulting stereotype and untrue. This stereotype is used as a lazy backdrop in the drama and this is what is upsetting or what you call "triggering." Plus as this article says:

I like the drama (outside the whole icky "africa savior" trope and generalization about a WHOLE continent used as a lazy backdrop. Super cringe) but i am also so tired of the childhood friends trope that every drama throws in for the heck of it. Can two people just meet later in life (and fall in love) without having met prior as six/ten or twelve years old kids all the time? Jeez.

Can recommend Crazy Love as well. Starts slow but then does it ever live up to its drama title xD 🤣

This is actually a sound review, which you best put into that section too so it does not get lost in the comment section ;). As for me... I did not like this drama, like at all. It was all nonsense with a semi sweet childhood to lovers story mixed it. The romance let me stay and FFW thru the episodes, tho even there there was not much. And god the plot, the frikkin plot. Even as a supernatural story this was incoherent and unhinged. And while Ahn Seop was nice to look at, here is hoping he will never ever play a blind person again as he sucks at it. The HEA in episode 16 was cute tho, but overall too much of a meandering drama with a whack ass plot that feels more like a drug trip than anything resembling a story lmao.

There is always Mr. Queen, then, in this case hehe.

Oh yeah his character deserved better :( Ngl, i watched CLOY mainly because of him haha, i found it too draggy in parts tbh. I really hope KJH makes his comeback soon with his indie movie, I miss "his stupid face" as he called it haha, on the screen. Such a good actor, tbh.

I'm either busy or distracted these days hence why i am not posting as much. I am still reading along here tho. And so many new dramas are airing too. My weekend is the busiest atm, with again my life, tomorrow and now Sh**ting stars, oh my. Are you gonna watch the latter too, which is another enemies to lovers romcom?

Yeah, didn't get any better the next two-three episodes. I like the ML's acting as he clearly portrayed the personas differently, but everything else has just aged terribly. nor interest me much and I don't want to speedrun thru 14 more episodes of that nonsense. And don't get me started on the brother being in love with his sister, what??? Yikes. Dropped.

The PD's name really screws with me, because it is exactly the same like that of my fave actor's. I highly recommend to watch the actor's Kim Jung Hyun's dramas as well, tho haha. (Mr. Queen, Cloy etc)

Yeah feels a bit draggy, but that is episode one for ya, i guess. It does not say much yet about the overall quality of the drama.

But i already like the bond that is starting to form (re-form?) between FL/ML, so i think it will get more interesting in time. Preview looks good :)

Episode 3, in the hospital when Shin Ah talks with the detective. She was never (fully) shown till episode 14, but she is also the stalker as she has the scars at her wrists we see when stuff happens (the attempted drugging at the party, the light fixture that nearly fell on him etc)

I suspect it is a "if i can't have him no one can" crazy love deal with her, since she also faked to be his fiance before Shin Ah did.

Looking forward to give this a try since my main drama enjoyment currently is ending next week (Crazy Love) but i doubt i can watch it legally seeing it is disney+ which is an absolute joke when it comes to kdrama distribution/marketing (see Crazy Love for that as the best example) Ah well, there is always dramacool, lol.

So zero promotion for the show and next to none availability once more then? Great. They did such a pisspoor job with Crazy Love already, which is a stellar drama that does not get the recognition/love it deserves due to Disney+ being so terribad with kdrama distribution and marketing😔 So a moment of silence for Love All Play as well, lol.

Choi Joon Woong may not have superpowers like his collegues, but i absolutely love his humanity, warm heart and empathy for the people around him (and their clients, of course) It is a "super power" in itself which is slowly influencing Goo Ryun and Im Ryung Goo to be more empathic as well, in a way? Because there is definitely a difference in their behavior in how matter of factly they handled the first case we have seen (at the bridge) and how they are handling them now. They show a lot more nuance and understanding for the clients overall now, i think.

Yeah his reaction was amplified bc of Shin Ah being the one who "got hurt" not him. You see it in his reaction when she opens up the package and startles her. He practically jumps at her side in panic.

Her character makes zero fucking sense I swear. 😅🤣

I had a busy day today so I have not been able to see the latest episode yet buuuut from writing standpoint (I have a decade of writing stories in my free time under my belt so I know a thing or two heh) it makes complete sense to ramp up the tension and drama now as it is the climax of the story arc. Hence I appreciate the writers giving us a big final on a high note and stakes instead of letting things teper out half cooked like I have seen in quite a few dramas. It keeps the reader/viewer engaged to the end in the story and with the characters, as it should. 😌👌
