Is it bad that i do not care for the second leads' side story at all? I keep catching myself fast-forwarding through their scenes to get back to the MLs, lol. Also I am glad i gave the drama a second chance after dropping it prematurely, it is much better now where i watched a couple moreepisodes. Hope this keeps up tho
Si-Woo's accident appears to be used as a health scare only and to help Hakyung realize her true feelings and follow her heart, at last. (Using this plot device is a hit and miss for me ngl. Even if i get that something drastic had to happen to shake hakyung out of her comfort zone/let her walls come down... but yeah, depends on how it is handled in the next episode tbh)
From the soompi site: "The dramaâs producers commented, âLee Si Wooâs father, enraged at the news of his sonâs accident, seeks out Jin Ha Kyungâs department. Lee Si Woo and Jin Ha Kyung will use this event to enter a new phase of their relationship. Tune in to tonightâs episode to find out if their relationship will remain stuck in place or grow stronger after weathering the storm.â
I think the reason a lot of people are finding this drama draggy, boring or becoming hard to watch is because…
Yeah, exactly and i love this drama for this. Not to sound pretentious but whether you connect with the drama and its characters or not I think depends on where you are at in life, and what your experiences had been. I feel this is harder/feels more draggy to young(er) people maybe expecting a fluffy romance escapism with it instead of a realistic, complicated portrayal of messy "real" relationships and people. In general FLAW is more a story geared toward people in their mid-twenties to thirties and counting, i.e. people at the same point of life and maybe similar experiences like the characters are and have made, in a way.
As someone older watching kdrama, I find it easier to relate to these characters than the (usual/often seen) highschool/coming of age woes of 2125 protagonists (for example) tbh. Hakyungs realization as she broke down for example teared me up a lot and i felt every bit of it. it really hits different when you can relate to this (episode). Either you're the one who build up walls because of your past traumas or the one who's sincerely wishing for someone to open up. I could relate a lot bto what the characters experience in this drama tbh.
Imagine if he finds out about Siwooâs injury nd tries to use it as a reason to sue KMA nd get money. Also did…
Tne mother was annoying as ever with going on about mawwwiaage but yes she definitely got the hint with Si Woo at the end, while he stared awkwardly at his pizza slice, lmao.
I did not expect it to be like this, but I am liking whatever this drama is.
That is the spirit, haha (aka adjust your expectation and go with the flow, this is what i did too as i mistook it as fluffy secret office romance drama at first tbh)
You know it really hits different when you can relate to this episode. Either you're the one who build up walls because of your past traumas or the one who's sincerely wishing for someone to open up. Been on both sides and none is ever easy. However I appreciate so much how it is portrayed in this drama. It made me tear up to see her breakdown like that, but at the same time it feels like a breakthrough for Hakyung, a turning point of sort. Because loving at a distance or in moderation does not make anyone happy in the long run, least of all herself. I hope she can start healing and move on now. This episode felt like a much needed catharsis and I hope Shi Woo is going to be okay. (I guess it is the typical "hurt the loved one of (a) main character so they realize how much they really mean to (emotionally closed off) MC" trope, oh well.)
I just hope it does not come to a stage where he is disabled and he wants to stay alone and she keeps trying to…
I see, that is interesting to know, but tbh i had to look it up myself regarding usage/meaning in korean, haha. But yeah, I feel his usage of ëčì added a layer to his anger expressed.
I just hope it does not come to a stage where he is disabled and he wants to stay alone and she keeps trying to…
I'm a beginner learner in korean so others may be better qualified to answer, but korean is very context dependent in the sentences, so it depends? Because âyouâ or ëčì (dangshin) is so strong in Korean, you can only use it for people you want to direct strong feelings toward. (at least this is what google tells me xD) So ëčì is seen as rude quickly bc it is so direct and lacks all formality, and i guess it is also a quite intimate form of "you" to use due to that, yeah. I feel here it fitted the scene and message he wanted to get across,
It is not a romcom. Period. I dunno if the first two-three episodes following the standard romance schematic were…
Yeah it is weird, seeing she has picked up such varied roles in the past, that people expect every drama with her to be fluffy and lighthearted for some reason?đ€
This! I'm really enjoying their growth in this drama.
Same, as someone who is a heavily character-focused writer myself, this show going so in depth with the relationships, trauma and the slow but steady development of characters is a treat. And to clarify, this was not meant to diss ABP, i absolutely adore this drama too, but for veeeery different reasons than i do for FLAW. People going into FLAW expecting it to be like ABP or some of PMY's former romcoms are going to have a very bad time tho, lol.
Today's episode was really worth waiting. It really made up for last few boring ones. They now know what are they…
I mean yeah speaking as someone who writes stories for fun for over a decade now, i gotta say this drama has a very good storytelling arc for its characters thus far. Which means the slow and steady build up approach chosen by the writers may not be as exciting as reaching the top and resolution of it afterwards (where we are getting to now). Such "middle" episodes and arcs are perhaps not as fun to watch, but they are needed tho to make the character development and actions believable and organic.
this drama is a lot more about the trials of relationships than it is a traditional romcom. I'm really enjoying…
It is not a romcom. Period. I dunno if the first two-three episodes following the standard romance schematic were accidentally or intentionally misleading by the writers, but this drama goes way deeper than "secret office romance hurhurhur," It depicts the trails and errors of human relationships and starting anew to love after being deeply hurt/traumatized by the significant other in a mature and realistic way. Comedy is only subtle and situational either, because well... life ain't a clownshowđ€Ł;)
I feel a lot of people see PMY starring in it and expecting to get another of her usual romcoms delivered and are disappointed when they find out that this is not the case. I love it tho, i just finished watching "Because this is my first life" yesterday and it reminded me a lot of FLAW with its realism and approach to societal topics and relationships.
I'm still firmly in the "I'm loving this" camp with this drama. I get that some ppl are disappointed with the direction it took but i I find it to be not only an interesting route but a refreshing one as well. Say it with me: THIS IS NOT A ROMCOM. You got BP for that. It's a slow-paced, mature story about the everyday lives and struggles of the people working in KMA. If you're only watching it for the romance/skinship and not for the in-depth, realistic portrayal of relationships with all the compromises, struggles, personal grow and communication needed to make it work (or see the dysfunctional version with some), this may not be a drama for you. Because you will bound to be disappointed by the lack of kdrama typical romance/skinship scenes between couples, and then complain about the perceived lack of chemistry (between the leads) here in the comment section, lol.
Oh, also... never trust the previews, no matter the drama, but especially not with FLAW. It lies to you through its lying teethđ
Itâs difficult to suggest like this Becoz this drama is a true definition of ROM -COM..Most of the Rom-com dramas…
I did put it off watching too and only started watching it bc i missed KJH on my screen after CLOY, haha. But now it is one of my fave drama series. While it is mainly focused on comedy the slooooow burn romance between Yoon Ah & Dong Gu is really cute and wholesome too. Of course, it helps that Kim Jung Hyun is so very apt in switching from comedy to heartfelt (and back) in a blink of an eye and is super expressive. But the other characters/actors are very good and lovable too with some satisfying char development, which is why I had so much fun with this drama. Highly recommend to anyone who loves wacky comedy and friends getting up in all kinds of shenanigans with more than a splash of romance and (by now) very iconic kdrama scenes (gwenchana, gwenchana) that had me in stitchesđ€Ł
Just watched two Kim Min Jae drama series back to back so needless to say my body is ready for his newest one haha. He was/is an absolute delight to watch in both (Dali, Flower Crew) due to his acting skills and comedic timing (Dali). I mean his looks don't hurt either lol, but I love actors who can sell their (emotional) scenes with utilizing mimic and gestures in a subtle way and booooy does he ever. So i am really looking forward to his new role :D

Feels much more like the latter according to this still tho â„
