Currently In A Drama Hiatus

I appreciate the tight pacing of the drama, there is not a dull moment. More romcoms should take to the twelve episodes format instead to pad the often thin story in order to fill sixteen episodes by all means.

This is exactly when I thought she has been treating him as a booty call not as a rebound even. I remember you…
Aka "Let-SK's-character-get- a -happy- ending- for- once" 2022😂

not dropping it only cause 4 epsiodes are left
This is my mood now and this after i spent a lot of time defending/liking it but episode 12 reaaaaally dropped the ball/lost the plot.

Haha saaaame, now with only 4 more episodes left, i wanna see where it and/or the potential trainwreck leeeeeads. I hate myself now for letting myself get so invested in this drama ngl 🙃🤡

Yeeeeeah true. I am not sure if i should hate or applaud this drama for having so many frustrating characters all at once lol. Life-like/realistic indeed😂

I actually want FL to stop with her infuriating passivity but i fear we have crossed that point of no return with episode 12 where the best opportunity for her showing iniative would have been. I dunno if this is still possible with how much she ran in circles up to this point in the only four hours left in this drama tho. Feels like a lot of opportunities got wasted already.

Not to mention that the preview has her breaking up with Shi Woo after they broke up in the last episode and this confuses the heck out of me. By now I am seriously questioning if their relationship is/was even worth all the constant conflict with little respite for them in between, if it just led to where we are atm. Maddening.

But yeah bottom line is the poor guy deserves better than whatever scraps Ha Kyung is (apparently) only willing to give.

As someone who likes or rather *wants* to like this drama the writers sure does not make it easy for me. Because…
I think what frustrated me most about the last episode was not only was it told in flashbacks adding next to nothing to the present story and thus felt overly convoluted and useless, but even more what was the point of getting Shi Woo hurt if not to pile more tragedy onto him for no reason? Like i thought it would be used as a catalyst for Ha Kyung to step up and start to fully commit to him after realization of what he means to her and I thought this was what episode 11 did build up to. But then in episode 12 we get nothing of that and instead had her as passive as a dead-eyed fish the whole fucking time Shi Woo was verbally beaten down and even slapped as if she does not give a single fuck about him unlike her grand speech while breaking down an episode earlier. (Tbh, i were him, i would have dropped her ass for that glaring omission of support and care from her alone, ngl.) It does not add up with the prior character actions/words that has been shown to us and built up. They all undid this in a couple of minutes which made both past episodes utterly useless as we have made exactly zero progress with the characters or their relationship. There was no resolution of the situation, no respite. Just more tragedy piled on for the sake of tragedy, ugh. Two wasted hours that could have been used much better to let the (main) characters get SOMEWHERE instead of damning them further to this perpetual angst limbo.

Also I really don't understand why at work everyone humored and even placacated the trashbag dad the whole time instead to throw his ass onto the street, if not for stupid plot reasons. I hate hate haaaate it if the plot renders characters to passive idiots because the script demands it. Their reaction toward him made no sense and it was more a puppet show stringed along with the dumb af plot device father than how normal/real people would act in that situation. It all and the characters felt off. And this issue continued to persist all the way to Jeju Island and the hospital. For a show that is focusing so strongly and in-depth on its characters, it was utterly bizarre how it forced them to absolute conformity with this stupid plot line, no matter it suited how the characters were written and set up or not.

Now we only have four more episodes to go and are at the same point with them we were before ep 11/12, minus their added break up, bc of course they had to add that in for the sobs. One step forward, ten steps back, ffs. I get and appreciate what this drama tries to do and it did it fairly well up to this point, but i feel it is losing the plot now and its meandering means there is (most likely) not enough time left to bring a satisfying and positive payoff for its characters after putting them through all this exhausting conflict and angst. (With characters i mainly mean the ML's bc fuck the SL's i don't care for them at all, lmao) Honestly, what is and was the point to all this by now? Do the writers know? I kinda think they no longer do, tbh. Sigh.

As someone who likes or rather *wants* to like this drama the writers sure does not make it easy for me. Because the more i think about the last episode (12) the more frustrated i get. Hence a long rant under spoiler tag to get it off my chest:

Is it bad that i do not care for the second leads' side story at all? I keep catching myself fast-forwarding through…
Episode 10 now, and nope i still not care for any of the side-characters, lol. Thus i skip through this weird triangle romance arc thing that feels oddly disconnected from the story of the main leads in general.

Should I watch this? Is this any good? Seems to have a very bad rating on here for K-drama standards.
Tbh, at this point i would probably wait two more weeks until it has finished airing to see if there is a positive payoff for all the angst and drama within atm. Most importingly however is to go into watching this not with the expectation for it to be a romcom or even a fluffy secret office romance. Because IT IS NOT. It goes way more into slice of life with a heavier melo portion, particularely atm (episode 9-12) and takes a quite realistic approach toward its in depth examination of various human relationships in all its (un)glorious mess. I appreciate its different approach to the usual romance drama formula, but it is definitely no bingewatchable show, as its slow pace and its penchant for angst can make it a bit emotionally taxing then.

Whether or not you are gonna like this drama really depends on if and how well you are able to connect and relate (and be frustrated af of some) to the characters and their experiences made within, tbh.

i just started this (currently on ep 2) and wasnt expecting much after seeing so many bad comments. but are you…
There is an easily missable timeskip of two months during episode 1 after the cheating events and time passing is told in seasons/through weather in the drama but yeah basically they did a hasty "gunshot wedding" which will totally not backfire at them, lol.

Yeah, true. It sucks for everyone right now. siiiiigh. And here i was praising the drama for not going the usual kdrama breakup to create more drama/tearjerking route before, but welp this opinion of mine did not age well 🙃

Yeeeah, shit reeeeally got piled up on him the past episodes, poor guy. Hence, petition to let Si Woo be happy for more than one goddamn minute. ... Actually petition to let all the characters be NOT be miserable for more than a hot minute too, tbh. (SML, the father and forecasters wife can all go die in the brewing typhoon, for all i care, tho)

I really hope there is a positive payoff at the end of it all bc right now things are just overly bleak without any kind of relief, which is no fun for anyone involved or watchng, lol. Like realism notwithstanding the characters never get the chance to proper heal/move on or even just breathe before the next tragedy is piled onto them 😩
On Forecasting Love and Weather Mar 20, 2022
Someone pls tie this hot garbage of a father on a weather ballon flying into the typhoon. He is so comically unlikable that he is more a caricature than character. Just get rid off him and piss on his grave, ffs.

I also want to rename this episode from variables to "stupid decisions made" for too many reasons to count. (A large one is Ha Kyung and her infuriating passivity in this episode, ngl. Why tf did she not stand up for Siwoo? Like... at all? Super-frustrating) As much i like this drama this is starting to get exhausting. Have the writers never learned that *some* catharsis is needed between all the angst and tragedy before continuing to pile onto the characters to not overly exhaust your audience? I had really hoped to get that for five or even three full hot minutes with episode 12, but nope no such luck. Jeez.

she saw what his dad was like and saw they didnt get along how dare she bring him to the hospital! Was this some…
Ngl i really hated how passive she was while his father went off even as/after Siwoo yelled at him to get lost (and ask her to tell him to go.) No (verbal) support for him, not stepping at his side even as he got slapped, nothing. She just stared dumbly and way too passively at the scene unfolding. This was very disappointing, especially seeing how Siwoo spoke up wnen her mother berated her about her life/not being married a couple of episodes back. FFS, gotta do better, woman.

Yes, today's real time ratings are the highest yet since the drama aired- 15.42% so might be 8% in actual ratings.…
Yeah, i think it is the result from the mixture borne out of the shame about his father/fearing of not being enough and wanting better for her. It is a shift of dynamic too, bc for the majority of the drama it was Siwoo who was more proactive in their relationship where Ha kyung mostly reacted or met him halfway while always leaving a bit of distance between them. Now she gotta be the one who has to step up to go the whole way and meet him at the end, so to speak. Which she is now ready to do I think, hence why i am not worried about the breakup. And while i enjoy this drama, it sure is stressful tho, lol. Glad I have some less emotionally taxing, more fluffy shows on the side to watch afterwards, ngl😁

I knew that a troublemaker like him would be back.
he is probably being used as a plot device to spill the beans about their relationship at work and to create general drama/tension. He can go take a dive in the ocean and stay with the fishes tho. Like worst parent of the ML in a drama ever, by far.
