Nah. It only belongs at the end of a family drama as epilogue nowhere else. That timejump also destroyed what little coherence there was with TRHC to begin with tbh, while also badly conveying the passage of time on top of that. I know you are mostly joking but dear god I still have war flashbacks to that, shudder. Thankfully I doubt this writer is as stupid bc the show is already more competently written than TRHC ever was.

i mean yeah, but also good for you recognizing the main story focus of the drama especially in a weekender, lol. Like, if all the characters were put together and would not struggle to figure out their path in life right in the beginning what would be the point in this show then here? It is about the respective characters journey and growth to become that person in the end, to go thru hardships and experiences and learn from it. But to expect that right from the beginning is more than a tad absurd. Not to mention it would be boring as hell :D Apologies if this all sounds harsher than i mean it to, but that is how stories and character development work? Especially at the start of a story?

Plus, let the poor man live pls. Like Taeho is only back in SK for a good week and already went thru so much shit and you blame him for not having a grand master plan after he barely settled in while made feel unwelcome at every turn? Next weekend he actually plans to return to the US bc he sees rightfully no point in staying in SK anymore with everything having hit a dead end, beaten and treated like shit by his asshole fam. So he is drawing consequences from that. But we know it won't happen and most likely to finding his grandma by chance which will give him second wind and bring him closer to HS as well. And that is actually where the introductory phase of the show ends and the real story starts, for both leads.

I bet Taeho plans to go back to the US again, because why the hell should he stay atp? There is nothing for him in SK other than a toxic, gaslighting asshole family and his search for his grandma has hit a dead end. So understandable, but obviously it won't happen. And since we need something big to convince him to stay, i bet he is going to find gran at Hyo Shim's next week by chance which will bring them finally closer outside of the gym. Mark my words. Heh.

Haha, i love this expression, so fitting. And yeah he has been rubbing me wrong from the get go. It is the sense of entitlement over her time and company for me which yikes. Men who think they can do no wrong and are so wrapped up in their perceived grandiosity and "niceness" while in truth being obtuse, insensitive assholes incapable to comprehend a woman not being into them are the worst and Taemin is definitely of that r/niceguy category 💀

I actually like the writer's intent to show you have to value yourself and not just through the lens of your family or worse, sacrifice yourself for them. Which goes against the filial duty in the Korean Confucian culture, aka family is everything and you are what your family is and you owe a debt to your parents for birthing/raising you. (from what i gather, the younger generation already places less value in this)

If the writer keeps course and does not backpeddle halfway thru we could see a story where individualism is valued/celebrated aka being your own person and finding happiness independent (in all meaning of the word) from your family, which would be a big, rare thing to see in a family drama. Exciting :D

Not saying there was a malicious intent behind it, but it was still uncalled for such a story from him. Would have been different if they were closer already but they are barely acquaintances so it was definitely out of place to talk about this, no matter the intent behind it. I wish they would have told us the story in the frame of the confrontation between family horrible, rich edition. Maybe have a little exposition between the disney witch and her underling or son to let the viewers know about why this being chased with a golf club has happened.
