WL never said he'd reprise this role. In fact, he gave his blessing to the current lead which was very decent…
To be fair Liu Hao Ran by 2018 was already a big star. Probably wouldn't be a good idea to spend so much $$$ on making a S2 of a drama that was successful but not THAT successful (like Cang Lan Jue, Untamed, etc). It would likely not pay off from a financial standpoint.
People will always find reasons to complain. If you don't like it then you don't have to watch it Go watch something…
You're telling me this inconsistent character & story development (after the scriptwriter changed past ep15) is not a good reason to complain? This is a discussion board. If you don't like my comment, then go read something else.
Ugh... I know the scriptwriter changed, but it's hard to believe the new 1 is this bad.
Tian Yao would use magic to attack someone who was CLEARLY out of breath from chasing them and CLEARLY not a threat, AFTER Yan Hui told him not to hurt them because they're just weak spirits???
Now I just see him as a hopeless lovesick boy. Not the supposed wise, pure-hearted dragon king. I have now totally lost interest in this drama.
The reason why she expected BXS to pick Kin as well , it was because he never said anything abt his lover. And…
It's ultimately a trial between 2 lovers (or so she was told) that the FL needs to pass or her life is over.
It's like a parent dangling in front of their kid a reward they really, really want and all the kid needs to do is answer, "Do you like me (parent) or your teacher more" to the parent's liking. The kid answers "Well, you've been spanking and yelling at me recently while my teacher gives me candy, so of course I like my teacher more". That's a stupid kid. Not for being honest, but for not knowing the obvious answer that the questioner wants.
I'm on episode 20. The show started out strong, but now I find myself eyerolling. The SML gets way too much screentime for how uninteresting (and borderline intolerable) of a character he is. Why would anyone say they would save kin instead of their lover in a "TRIAL OF LOVERS"? Maybe the real answer is more complicated than just choosing 1 or the other, but no rational person would outright answer "kin" (no matter what they've been through) in a trial that's supposedly testing how strong the love is between 2 people. The FL was shown to be smart and witty... why is she so naive and stupid now? Throw in a headache-inducing bickering 3rd couple that no one cares about... And the general dragginess and boredom I'm getting from the story. Hopefully this is just the midway slump and things pick up from here.
And some inconsistencies I noticed -FL valuing money, food, and her life because of her sad backstory, then simply throwing away & wasting a whole fish because she didn't want to share with ML? -SML: "I finally understand the happiness from being rich" in episode 20... didn't he throw like 10 gold bars at the gold-eating beast a couple episodes ago? It's certainly not his first time being rich, and I doubt he cares about money at all if he gave them all to the beast without a 2nd thought... Maybe I'm just really picky... but these sorts of very obvious imperfections in the drama really ruin the immersion for me because I have to "step out" of the drama to assess the logic in the storywriting.
I held off on watching this because I thought it would be a cheaply made drama capitalizing on the Xianxia hype.
It is indeed quite cheaply made, but aside from that everything about this drama is done very well so far. I love the 2 leads and their chemistry. The story is good so far. I was fully expecting the drama to be riddled with cringe, tropey dialogues and moments but so far there's none of that.
8.5/10 really seems to be an overstatement for this. It's unnecessarily long. There is no reason to drag things…
I think many viewers watched this because they liked the leads in Once We Get Married, so naturally the rating will be a little inflated lol It's whatever though, so many other shows on here have inflated rating anyway.
I liked it. The story was somewhat boring and bland, and the 2nd couples felt like a waste of time, BUT I loved seeing the 2 leads together. They have really good chemistry.
If you enjoyed the main couple and haven't already, give Once We Get Married a watch. Same leads, and imo the show did a better job at "milking" their chemistry. It's a sugar mine with the constant flirting and bickering between the 2 leads. Still one of my favorite romcoms.
All the episodes are released, I just finished watching last night.
Itβs released, but you need to either fast track (donβt even see that option on wetv) or watch on dramacool or something. I prefer watching in 1080p, so I have to wait for the normal episode release.
What's the "normal" episode release schedule? It's crazy this drama ended 2 days ago and I'm still waiting for 23 to air on WeTV. They're basically just trying to milk more subscription time/$$ out of people by dragging out airing time with 3-day break per week. π Is this something that they just started doing recently? I don't remember having to wait 3 days for new episodes to air for previous dramas.

he looks way better with no makeup.

It's someone else's mistress, not the ML's... πππ
