Nope, I'm enjoying it a lot too. He's cute, she's beautiful, and they seem like good people and have good chemistry. Can't say the same about the doctor & dancer girl. She gives me very bad vibes.

Overall, a good drama. Part 1 was perfect imo. I didn't feel that strong of a chemistry between the 2 leads, so the later parts of Part 2 didn't interest me as much and some parts (that were supposed to create a longing feeling for the 2 leads to be together I guess?) just felt like a drag. But it's still a good watch. I loved the Empress and Consort and how there were no tired "harem fights" between them.

Of course it's not his fault. The fault is on the directors & scripwriters.

Just watched 8 episodes (2-9) in a single day. I don't remember the last time I was this interested in a drama. Every second is enjoyable.

His character here is just a more child-like, less interesting version of his characters in Tiger & Rose and Moonlight. I don't think he's challenging himself.
I don't mind a juvenile relationship. I'm talking about the character herself. A girl with a body of a young adult and the mentality of an 8-year-old. I don't blame the general for distancing himself from her.

Watching this up to Ep 32 (was starting to not like it after around ep 10) and not giving this my rating (a 6 imo) is already doing a lot for a fan I'd say :D I'm just not an obsessed fan who would watch & rave about anything my faves put out just because it has their face in it.

A Xianxia can be a "romantic comedy" as well... a drama can have multiple genres. Is Starry Love romantic? Does it have comedy? Certainly more of it than this drama imo.
You're welcome to like whatever. I wasn't trying to be combative, just wanted to share some recommendations.

Romance of Tiger and Rose is rated 8.6. First half of Starry Love was a comedy and well loved by people here. Romantic comedies when done well are very welcome.

I'll be honest. This drama's rating is probably fair. I can't say for certain because I only just finished episode 32, but I don't see it getting much better and I don't think I have the patience to watch the last 6 episodes.

This drama is one of my biggest disappointments because I really, really like Ding Yuxi. One of my favorite actors after Tiger & Rose, and he was also quite good in Moonlight. His character here is like a kid. Even Gui Bai pointed it out, so I'm pretty sure it's intentional. Regardless, I don't think this is a good role for him. His other roles in other dramas have a mysterious yet charismatic presence. Here, he's just a one-dimensional kid.
Ji Man is also like a kid. While typing all this, I just realized why I hardly feel any chemistry between the 2 leads. They're basically kids! Qingyun (the FL's "sister") is THE most annoying kid and every time she shows up with her screechy voice, I want to bang my head against the wall.
