While waiting I read some comments and I found one I like to give my perspective to. Does the emperor know what really happened 10 years ago? Without doing research on this drama and not having finished reading the novel yet I can only surmise based on my experience watching Cdramas.
Usually and in most Cdramas I watched, emperors know (given that they own the nation intel) but they want to see how the affected react. Most of the time, the reason they keep quiet is they are weighing in who will be the inheritors to the throne. Elevating one to Crown Prince does not necessarily and automatically elevate to emperor (This is also usually one of the sub-climaxes in a period Cdrama.
Wu Jin Yan does not even meet the standard to play this role, the only reason she did it is to copy ZLY because…
@ShenLi - that is a good subjective article - subjective meaning not coming from the actress involved - comparing Wu Jinyan to Zhao Liying is like comparing apples to oranges - no comparison at all
omg. π³ π± π±this is the first time desperately pine for 2 or more episodes per day. I survived the others: (Are you the One, The Double...) but not this! π₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ί
For dark-themed movies, I am a fan of Hollywood greats like Nikita, The Assassin and The Crow. For me, this drama topped them all because of the period costume setting β€οΈπ€β€ I hope it will be consistent through out but I am positive because of one of my favorite actress Wu Jin Yan who seem to never run out of strong female drama projects π₯·π₯·
I loved the 'Lu Jia Xue' character because in the novel he was the one who has consistently and truly loved 'Luo Yi Ning' so, I like to see how Ci Sha play this part. The love is bounded between true love and obsession - in the novel main story he still respected the young Yi Ning but did not want anybody to claim her.
The love between 'Luo Shen Yuan' and 'Luo Yi Ning' is a tempered love (love borne out of being acquaintance for years) and I see ZWY has mastered playing this type of love (from sister/friend to lover). π
To understand and appreciate this drama, one has to read the FULL novel OR watch the full drama. The story on the novel followed two paths: - girl is reborn (which made up the main story) - girl was not reborn and survived the attempted murder (prologue)
Now for the drama to flourish, our good scriptwriters deviated in some story parts and retained the others while deleting the unsavory (per censorship rules) - hence, ep 1 or intro was totally different and looked like an old storyline - hence, ML already came in already as strong given that she is still only 14 or 15 years old We will still see the other deviations and deletes while this drama progresses BUT as long as it will keep us audience captivated and interested I am already good with that.
Like I said in my previous comments here, this is not a simple and straight storyline so please be good with rating πππ
