I'm so confused by the comments. Is this a BL or not and why? đ Can anyone compare it to some other shows to…
I guess it depends on how you define BL. Usually in BL the story is mainly about a couple and the genre is romance, often with some idealism mixed in, so this is not a typical BL like that since its focus is a little different, more slice-of-life, with less romantic development. But BL is defined differently, and some people include a wide variety of genres and ways of storytelling in BL as long as it has a queer love aspect between men or boys, so it's also possible to define this as BL if your view is broader. I personally have a very broad definition of BL so to me this is BL, but to someone else it's not. I think in manga both shounen ai and yaoi can be considered BL, and similarly this show (which is more shonen ai) would still be BL
I just randomly remembered this terrible show existed and sighed. Honestly the worst BL I've ever watched. Actually, the worst show of any genre I ever watched. I can't believe I finished it (on 2x speed towards the end, but still...), what a waste of everyone's time. Let this be a lesson not to campaign for a second season of a show you liked too much! You might end up with a season that is worthy of completely ruining the story
Supervisor can go to hell. Also, am I the only one completely unbothered by the handjob? I really don't give a…
so many of the BLs I watch have "problematic" relationship things happening in them: My Beautiful Man, My Personal Weatherman, Mr Sahara & Toki-kun, KinnPorsche, Big Dragon... that doesn't diminish their quality to me
Also, am I the only one completely unbothered by the handjob? I really don't give a f--- I still think they're cute lol I don't know if that says something bad about me but as long as it's fictional I really don't care
So f-ing sad! The potential of Chinese BL is so high, there are so many brilliant danmei webnovels that would make amazing live actions yet they all die at the censor's office
they do still picking up BL novels? i mean, those production companies, would they not need funds and money and…
exactly, that's why I'm amazed they're still taking the risk. I mean this one got posted and deleted all at once, and god knows what is happening to Immortality. There are plenty others that have been filmed or optioned for live action adaptations despite being BL and it's all dying in censorship
I'm honestly kinda surprised that production companies are still picking up BL novels for adaptations even though it seems like lately none of them get released successfully. The crackdown on queer media is truly disheartening
Just saw this on twitter, I'm so excited! I love Japanese BL, their stories always have a special something about them that is hard to put into words... like, a sweet and melancholic tenderness?
I just started re-watching this since it became available on Netflix and it is now even more clear to me that these two idiots would have never successfully gotten together if it weren't for their blonde friend playing cupid!! (and a bit of pushing from the sister, too) Everyone pay your respects to Yui haha
Love the preview for next episode! My Love Mix-up gave us cross-dressed Cinderella and his prince, and this show gives us cross-dressed Snow White and his prince, haha. Can't wait!
this show started out nice but had major pacing and character development issues as it went on. had me rolling my eyes a bit at points, not gonna lie - especially the scene with the manager's mom in the last episode.
Okay, let's go. My two cents on consent in this BL, feel free to disagree and express it politely on the comments
Your comment reminds me of a passage from a book I just finished. ââŠthe world doesnât exist to amplify or exemplify our own preexisting tastes, values, or predilections. It simply exists. We donât have to like all of it, or remain mute in the face of our discontent. But thereâs a difference between going to art with the hope that it will reify a belief or value we already hold, and feeling angry or punitive when it doesnât, and going to art to see what itâs doing, whatâs going on, treating it as a place to get âthe real and irregular news of how others around [us] think and feel,â as Eileen Myles once put it.â
I've just watched the 7th episode with the good subs (oshiroen's subs) and I have to say I love Akane-chan and blondie being the biggest supporters. In general, something I really enjoy about Japanese BL is the fact that female characters are almost always incredibly supportive and lovely! There's no demonisation even if they did have feelings for one of the leads.
Subs on kisskh are terrible. Anyone have better suggestions? They're so bad on kisskh I stopped watching because…
I haven't found any good ones for the newest episode, might have to wait until there's subtitles on sawasdeeplus, their subs tend to be better (if not perfect). It might take a few more days though, I think their subs for episode 6 only came out about a week after the episode aired
Also, am I the only one completely unbothered by the handjob? I really don't give a f--- I still think they're cute lol I don't know if that says something bad about me but as long as it's fictional I really don't care
