Does anyone know how many novels there are? I feel like I was reading for days on end (well beyond what I bought from meb, as other sites are needed to read on) and it was like *End of book 1*....and I'm like "I just read 50 really long chapters and it's a cliff hanger!"

I say this all the time. I do not watch these shows to learn how to have a healthy or functional relationship lol. I flip a switch and set myself to "fantasy" once I hit play.
The amount of people commenting even though they dropped it recently or weeks ago is astounding. Meanwhile I finished the book, contributed to about a million of those views on EP 8 Pt. 1 on YouTube and I come back each week to say these haters be wild XD.
The issue with fan service seems to be expectations. I understand you want actors to be a 100% real off screen, but the unfortunate truth is that this is a business that can typically go 24/7. In the US there is a never ending stream of marketing, paparazzi, fake news, etc. I don't fault the actors for any of it and I honestly enjoy watching the Instagram lives or the silly games they play in interviews.
Fan service is marketing and it's an essential part of the success of almost any type of media. There are certain elements that are problematic, but those should be handled on a case by case basis. I am not saying I agree with exploitation of young minds or anything like it, but from what I can perceivably see nobody here is being forced.
Now if more of the international viewers could afford to pay for these videos with subscriptions when they are offered, then maybe they could eventually tone it down a notch. But I know people are out here not paying a dime for any BL and complaining about the extremes they go to so they can turn a profit or promote the series. I will say this once, just because you don't pay for something, doesn't mean it's free. XD

I bought the English novel translation from MEB the day before yesterday and binge read it. I actually thought it was cute and a fun read, if you're bored waiting for episodes I would read it as an added layer. I am VERY sad Naughty Babe is not translated yet, since that's where my is really at with this show.

This comment is being posted as of a day ago. The show is on episode 10 at this point, do you like it or dislike it? I'm getting mixed signals, as per what you've said above, you should be "out" if you do not like it at this point. In fact, you'd be nowhere in these comments as of weeks ago or more depending on when you started this show. I love this show and I am currently not cast or crew. In fact, I am not based in Thailand at all and I do not speak their native language. I am personally recommending that nobody "hang in there" for this show, as if you don't like this from EP 1, it won't change in my opinion. The behaviors and dynamic of the cast is vibrant/strong, the vibe will not change enough to change minds.
It's meant to be a comedy. I think you might have missed the mark on my review. But to summarize, it's a comedy that I think people are comparing to non comedic shows or ones with far less comedy. Additionally, I think many don't understand Thai humor or culture when watching these shows. It can be difficult to recognize that different from ones own culture does not mean "bad". Though if that's not the case, preferences should be respected. It's just many people on here drag these shows through the dirt, instead of moving on after the first episode.
I'm really unable to process why the rating is so low on this, possibly expectations for the vibe you're expecting out of this. This is 100% a comedy romance and I don't mean Bad Buddy. It goes well beyond funny into a literal party on my screen and I am here for it! I laugh at almost all the episodes, the first few had me dead. The cast is enthusiastic and not often to be taken seriously. There is still some serious chemistry between the main two, even with the silliness, they spark every time they interact. I really hope everyone with not lower their expectations to watch this, but rather shift them to what this show is really about.

I'll piggy back and say MaxTul. But I feel like there is more, but my list is so long my brain is foggy lol. I feel at least one of the History series has one, though that's not Thai. We Best Love for sure, as I will never forget that couch scene for the rest of my life. Pornographer/Mood Indigo was quite "raw" and I wouldn't be shocked if there was one in there. RIP anyone who reads the comments and doesn't watch this show. I almost listened to the few people on here saying "dropped it" and I assumed it was a massive dumpster fire. But no bro, I binged four episodes last night and I had such a blast watching it. Though I should preface, I am someone that can separate fiction from reality and still have a good time. I invest myself in a show, but I'm not here looking for relationship advice or inspiration to live my life. That could be my age and experience talking, but it's just for fun and enjoyment that I watch shows like this. If you're triggered, I get that, but I really think going hard in the comments is silly. The toxicity elements in this show are placed purposely and if you don't like it, I would say you misunderstood the trailer/synopsis. I mean, come on guys....The show is about "arranged marriage" and that concept itself is wildly toxic. The stream of toxicity following it was expected and in my case welcomed. XD

BL or not. This has been an awesome show to watch from start to finish. I am actually happy I didn't binge it, something about it just makes it a decent weekly watch. I look forward to each episode and it's been a good ride. Can't wait to wrap this up next week!
