Okay, but like...That was by far one of the best episodes. I understand it wasn't the "best" in terms of what everyone is typically here for, but I was so pumped and on the edge of my seat the whole time! BL is not the only thing going for this show and I am here for it. They put so much effort, time and acting into all the other elements. There has been 0 drag on this show, like, seriously. I care about everyone and I am invested into all characters. Everyone in the cast is massively valuable and this has 100% rewatchable status in my book.
Last week I said this is in my top 5 now. It's being changed to my top 3. This is getting really close to my favorite BL of all time. The chemistry between EVERYBODY is off the charts. Nobodies scenes lag or feel pointless. But also, Gram.... Give Gram whatever he wants by the end! XD
Coming back to this to remind myself to ignore ratings on here and just watch shows that interest me. This is a 7.4, but I absolutely loved it. It's time to go back to my list and start watching other shows that I deemed "unworthy" because I am completely missing out! This show has one of the most epic kiss scenes in the industry, not to mention just complete chemistry.
Fabulous! I have zero complaints and I feel 100% satisfied from start to finish. Reading the book first threw me off and I would say if you read it, read it as a stand alone/something new.
This deserves to be a higher rating for sure! I just binged the first 3 episodes and it was fantastic. The acting is top tier (I expected it honestly) and the social commentary is refreshing. I'm now going to writhe in pain until next month waiting for the next episode.
I attempted to read some other comments and man do most of you not pass the vibe check. My brain ain't making space for any of that negative drama. BAI!
people around here are mad from the negative feedback! they want people to say nice things when the writers made…
I'd take a look at my other responses or the one I commented directly to you. It can't be said enough that they've changed little to nothing about Teh. At a deep or even surface analysis you'll see Teh has been selfish, stricken with tunnel vision and impulsive since season 1. That type of behavior and lack of self awareness in a relationship leaves little direction other than a huge loss of trust. Teh is a prime example of how moving forward and aging doesn't fix character flaws or personal issues. In fact it's a great example of how ignoring those red flags often allows it to manifest into something worse as you enter adulthood.
I would reflect from within as to why you're this angry. It's okay not to like the ending or where it's headed.…
Well said and I understand! It was really heart breaking to watch him essentially kill Oh-aew visually and emotionally from his heart. I think that's why Oh-aew made the decision he did by the end, as there was no other option. In the defense of Teh (Not defending his actions, just the direction it took) I'd say this has quite a bit to do with him not having respect for his partners or having any reprecussions in the past. If you think back to the season 1, he did his girlfriend/love interest dirty as heck. Only difference is his actions resulted in reciprocation from Oh-aew. This time he wandered away and was shut down. I think it'll be a good lesson on not only chasing passion, but also using logic before making these leaps. I've said it before, Teh is wildly impulsive.
Dare I say, this might be my favourite episode of IPYTM.The acting, the tensity, the scenes, emotions, symbols…
Well said! I want nothing more then all the viewers to connect deeply with these characters, but I do hope they stay somewhat in reality that they're not actually thinking this is real. I'm getting an uncomfortable feeling many of the viewers are personally angry at actors, directors, writers, etc. I'm glad everyone is so invested, though the lack of separation between the real world and this is still concerning. It hurts because it's so real and without the realism many viewers have no idea they wouldn't like it as much.
The inability for people in these comments to clearly articulate their frustration and provide details on why this is "trash" has me concerned. I use these shows as an escape as well, but I don't use them to mask my own insecurities about the world and then turn on them when they provide a touch of realism. I mean this with all sincerity and it's not an attack. But I'm seeing that the negative comments are those who can't exist in the "uncomfortable" and I get that.
I just have to reiterate: Your feelings towards the choice of direction does not make it a bad directional choice.
It wasn't the outcome many wanted, but this show is ground breaking because of the direction they chose. I feel the actors could embody the characters so well due to the realistic script. The people playing these characters are human and the best directional choice to make this a masterpiece is to give them a humanized script with a relatable story. To plainly put it, the reason you loved this show is now the same reason you hate it. It was impossible to give you the best show consistently without providing the actors these experiences.
Sorry for the interruption. I just want to hear people out on this site, but the rage quit comments are making it hard to empathize.
the writers are mean and stupid, they turned a masterpiece to a piece of shit, what is wrong with you people
I would reflect from within as to why you're this angry. It's okay not to like the ending or where it's headed. But I feel this is fairly extreme, as this is still a masterpiece. It's just not maybe the happiest masterpiece we've all seen. This just doesn't seem like a mature or well articulated comment.
Okay help I almost read half of comments but didn't bring myself with conclusion Should I watch it or drop?
Watch the whole thing! There is some garbage fires here and there, but most of them are so bad it's hilarious. Overall I am staying engaged and man did episode 9 just throw me! I am mostly living for the haters of this show, they feed my troll soul.
Very well said, I agree with you. Your comment has helped me to be a little less pissed about what happened because…
The cheating triggers us all for a reason, but I do enjoy processing the end goal of the director here. I've really loved everything he's done and I truly don't think it's conflict for conflict sake. Though I've had multiple thoughts of "If they don't end up together I'm not sure I'll be super mad".I started yelling at the end of the episode "This is how your partner is going to end up in the hands of Ham, the handsome man that hit on him before!" I'm still rolling at them sending such a fine man over to Oh - Aew. I'm just like "They're really pre prepping the dichotomy of loyalty in this relationship aren't they?!"
I have seen a ton of hate for this series and I am not going to defend many aspects of it. But honestly though, this is down right fun for me. I am constantly laughing, making "wtf" faces and getting into some of the characters. It's seriously like I am dreaming of BL and this is the best I could create in my brain. It's sometimes hilariously incoherent at times, but I embrace this fever dream. I can't speak to the true translation, but some of the subtitles are pure gold in regards to quotes. I will continue to watch this as I have already invested time into the first 6 episodes. I say watch it and just have fun with it. The more people talk about the coming episodes I get more and more excited lmfao.
Ya'll didn't grow up with Mystery Science Theater and it shows. Embrace the good aspects and laugh at the bad. Hard work was still put into this show!
Are they toxic? Yup!
Do I want to pour a man's gingerale and let him call me gross in real life? Nope!
Am I thoroughly entertained? YUP!
Keep the episodes coming. XD
