Random comment - but ZY and CL have been presented really well in this drama. Whoever did their styling and makeup…
I know right. I love all their outfits but I need to say Zhou Ye's red military outfit in jiyang war deserves a special mention. She looked so badass and dashing in that.
I wonder if Chu Zhao will turn evil in later episodes. So far he's been fine. Also we got to see a jealous Xiao Dudu because of him so not complaining :)
Sure, people can stop watching whenever they want. But reviewing an entire show after only 3 episodes is like reviewing a book after skimming the first few chapters, you’re missing the major twists, character arcs, and payoffs. At that point, you’re not critiquing the show, you’re critiquing your own impatience.
What is wrong with people. Why are they nitpicking on every small detail and it is more than usual. It is one thing to genuinely express your opinion whether good or bad, and it is another thing to watching a few scenes and writing a negative review. Most of the things are already mentioned and well explained by others below but I'm still going to mention it once again:
1. For people complaining about how they changed things in the drama and how fast paced it is- well it is a 270+ chapter novel adapted into a 36 episode drama. So they obviously have to make changes and cut out scenes so as to adjust everything. Not to mention that the guy who originally played Cheng Li Su was involved in a scandel so they had to face swap him and do even more editing.
2. A very common argument is how people find it very hard to believe that everyone around the FL believes she is a man. But this is a historical drama and as someone explained this nicely below, that we are talking about times when the concept of females fighting and going to battlefield was even considered a ridiculous idea. So even if she is petite and looks very much like a female, since she is out there fighting, she would be passed as a very feminine looking man. Also as @lapetitefiaa said, they had to strip to join the military but she somehow got lucky with that. Again, I have been watching chinese costume dramas for a few years now and it is hard to recall times when a female playing the role of a male has actually looked like a male.
3. Another common argument is how different they expected He Yan to be and how does she stay goofy after all that has happened to her. Well, she has been someone's substitute for a very long time. In the very opening scene, you can see a child He Yan playing with a kite but her father tearing it off. She always has been a very friendly and goofy person from the start but she had to act tough when she started to be He Rufei. Now that she is finally free, she can be herself again. Also for those saying that the revenge doesn't start right away, He Yan was never a scheming person bloodthirsty for revenge. Having wits doesn't mean that one has to be scheming or manipulative. Had that been the case, she was capable enough of slaughtering her entire family single handedly. But here that is not the case. She wants to prove that she can start from scratch and once again be a general, this time as He Yan. Then she can take back everything that belonged to her and clear her name.
4. Why He Yan acts casually around Xiao Jue and why doesn't he behead her for that? He Yan has known Xiao jue for a long time and in her heart he is an old friend who had her back. As for Xiao Jue, firstly he knows He Yan's identity is fake and is curious about what her true intentions are for dressing up as a man and coming so far to join military. Secondly he has never met a woman who has been that skilled and courageous, so he treats her differently.
Honestly speaking, this drama also has some flaws like most other dramas, but writing negative reviews only after watching a few episodes and some clips is very annoying. If you don't like the drama then drop it but please don't write such reviews which discourages others from watching. In the end everything comes down to personal tastes and preferences and what might not be your cup of tea can be interesting to others.
idk what novel readers actually expect from a drama adaptation, do they except to see whole background stories…
Finally someone said this. I was also kind of getting annoyed at the fact that people kept on comparing it to the novel. I mean if they do not make changes, how are they gonna complete the whole story. Personally, as someone who has been watching chinese costume dramas for quite a few years, I don't see any huge plot holes.
Just leave her be.. Maybe report her comments. I can't understand why people even post malicious comments like…
I know right. I guess she is just an immature person who hasn't been taught how to use the internet properly. Anyway this is one of the most anticipated dramas of this year so I won't be surprised if there are more antis like her trying to bring it down just like the other popular dramas. ,
The crown prince is so useless yet so full of himself. I was so proud of our girl, Wan when she put him in his place and told him that not every girl is after him. And his reaction was hilarious when he finally understood the situation. I was wondering if the qin family or his mother will still try to make Qin Wan, the crown prince's concubine.
We also praying and manifestin. Ao said he would like modern drama eith her. Its now on BL because I heard form…
BL has already shared the screen twice with some of her co actors like LYX and Wang Xing Yue. So I am hopeful that in the future she will be casted with ARP again
Okay, so it looks like Jing Yuan was in love with Xiang Yue from the beginning, when they were Gods instead of her best friend, Shang Gu. Also I think in the drama, the concept of the 4 Gods differs from the novel. But still enjoying the drama a lot and can't wait to see how things will turn out to be in the upcoming episodes.
okay, I'm pretty sure from the opening theme that Fan Yue will die once (where he is wearing a red and black robe and hugs Bai Shuo then loses consciousness). He will likely lose his stars and then die. But then there was another snippet where BS was aiming an arrow towards him. Ughh so many theories are forming in my mind after watching these clips. If anyone else going through the same and has theories has multiple theories feel free to share.
Just started this drama the day before yesterday and finished all the episodes that have been aired. Now joining the rest of you guys to wait for the next episodes. Damn!! All I can say is that it's been a while since I've been hooked on a costume drama like this. The acting costume and story line is top notch. However, after reading a few comments both here and on YouTube, I'm scared about the ending. Like, I agree with someone who said below that a sad ending is also a good ending as long as it is logical and gives a proper closure. Still, I feel what I admire the most about our main couple is their selfless love for each other and both of them wanting to do everything to survive but not at the cost of each other's lives. So I would wish for them to get their happily ever after in the end.
Damn looks like this is gonna be one of the biggest hits of all time. The casting, the cgi, the costumes everything looks more than perfect. I haven't read the manhua, so I hope that the storyline will not disappoint.
this is why Chinese president is worried on the current situation in china.. I hope you are an automatic bot...…
Your choice of words again says that you should try taking your own advice first. Grow up sis and get a life. Trolling on the internet is not gonna help you with your emotional trauma.
Looks like this is the scene where Xiao Jue will get to know about He Yan being the actual Feihong general.

Hope they will solve any misunderstandings quickly.
