Korean and Japanese even can't create good vampire drama with all freedom they have. Japanese dramas sucks those day with very few good one which usually just adaptation of manga/anime.
This drama is very close to become best vampire drama if not ruined by some weird direction later on. But I still think C-ent needs less restriction. Just like when it was 2017-2018. Keep censoring on some basic stuff like nudity or gore. But so far they also meddling with story and always wanted drama have ending that morally correct.
Director made same mistake as his previous dramas. Too much spend time on side characters. Really good at beginning and falls apart on mid to the end. Rattan and Fireworks of my Heart also plagued by same issue.
Technically the director is typical Goerge Lucas or Zack Synder, great visualizer with great idea, worldbuilding and style. But can't write cohesive story and plot for real. Style over substance in nutshell.
Li Ying just way too much , I 'll believe if director had some nepotism with Ryan Ren.
It is enjoyable watch if you just skip LYL scenes and stop at episode 23. LMAO , so much to enjoy this drama.
So far loving it. Style is cool, combining Republican with gothic western is brilliant and mix so well. ML and FL relationship so far sweet and warm. But the weakest part is main villain, Li Ying is lame aff. He always stalking ML, such whacky annoying character. Mrs Mu actually way cooler and more fascinating.
I never fan of her, I thought she was cold and have this pretentious attitude. I guess because she grown up in idol environment. But in recent years, I really like her. She become more warm , more sincere with her gesture and smile.
Ending is quite poetic. CX and A nian went back to Qing Siu town, searching for XY but this time he will never find her anymore. Really " lost you forever "
