Girl rejecting a man because they see a man is just a bro/friend is the most common out there. When girl do not have feeling toward man, they will not catch any hints whatever man throw. Instead it become major annoyance for girl and it can ruin relationship if the man chase further which will be in this drama. Has been there multiple times IRL.
Decent watch , light and nothing too serious. But sadly I need to drop it for Lost You Forever S2 and continue Royal Princess. Probably will pick it up again when nothing to watch.
Production is cool but I don't know, too many modernization on hair style and costumes. They are too intricate, even lowly beggar is clean. The buildings also too modernized. I hope more rigid and simple style. I am okay if fantasy drama have this kind of style but it is based on Song Dynasty.

It does have problem like repetitive subplot but it is still really good. Yang Mi gave a strong performance. What I like the most is background story of Manchukuo, it is so rare. All characters do not have happy ending but that's understandable for the context, everyone just bad people of their own. No saint in this show. Some innocents died, it was chaotic era and of war monger Japan grinding everyone. Which is subtle anti war message.
FL do not deserve happy ending, she is simply betray her own people and work for foreign power. If you think she deserve happy ending, you are crazy.
I don't know if Cdrama have age suggestion. I feels like this show made for kid but they don't label it with such.
Lack of deep but more about spectacles, strong black and white characters, handholding romance and absent of complex emotion. Perfect for kids or teenagers. I don't blame them if it is what they want to do.
I guess in previous life, Qin family was wiped out and only left Qin Zhen Zhen survived because she was a second consort. Hence why she got sick and died from sadness I presume.
Trailer is The Double vibe. Chen Du Ling is fitting play gray character, simple because she can play both protagonist and antagonist on her previous dramas.
I think this drama should following a novel. FL fall in love with ML that not the first choice.
Nowaday it is a trend of that, The Double and The Princess Royal. Chengyi should play Yu Mo instead, he have all quality to play edgy character. In novel , Yu Mo is edgy dark character, he is strong Demon and King of Beast kingdom. He took over the Beast Kingdom and established his reputation as scary Demon. OFC the reason he did that do liberate another demons from evil Demon King. Yu Mo spend entire years looking for Yan Dan out of his love and gratitude that she took care of him when he was on Heaven Realm.
